Thanks for Basic Step

As I wallow in my misery at not being able to work out (ok, so not quite that bad) I dusted off Basic Step and it is filling in the "hole" for now. I am about 3 wks post-op for a lateral release (OW OW OW OW) and a meniscus tear (not too bad) and can't do much except pedal to nowhere on the stationary bike at home, as I don't have an eliptical at home. I still have a stability issue and minor aches in my quad, so there is no jumping, lunging, twisting etc. I showed Basic Step to my PT and got the ok to do it on a 4 inch step as long as it feels ok to me. It is wonderful!!! At least I don't feel like a couch potato slug anymore. And having not been able to do much recently I actually broke a little sweat and little heavy breathing on this one. While I can't wait to get back to the old faves (IMAXes, Rhythmic Step), this one is filling the spot for now and hopefully will help me maintain some sort of cardio endurance. I have a feeling I'll loose a lung when I am 1st able to get back into the old routine. I think I may also try the low impact premix of Kick Max. I've done that one enough that I know where I can modify and just not kick so hard. I don't want to rush back or I'll end up worse than before. So, I'm rambling, but thanks for the easier bits to keep me moving while things get better. I'll be hopping and bopping again in no time!

I just am getting over a long bout with the flu and went back to working out starting with Basic Step and Body Fusion. It was great just enough to get me going and I was able to get thru the entire workout. That is why I never get rid of those I think I have grown out of. You never know when you might have to scale back due to an injury or illness.
