Just getting us started. I'm off to do Santa Monica with ropes:eek: I hope I make it thru!!

Gayle~ Are you still standing??? How did you do with the Donkey Kong workout? The box jumps looked the hardest.

Santa Monica with ropes is HARD!!!.....but I made it thru:D:D:D....barely!!!LOL
I did the 30 seconds rest premix but not the speed rounds.... because I started late and was worried I wouldn't have time to finish.....

Lunge Cocktails (again: started with 25#, dropped to 20# ...was so fried at this point ended up only eeking out 3 on each side!!!!), Squat and Hold Cleans, Open Palm Presses –20#
Ropes - barely finished- the last 10 seconds were alternating waves and lunges and I only did the alternating waves. No way were my legs doing lunges too!!!!:eek:Rest

you all make me want to buy Santa Monica so bad. Do you need a lot of room for the ropes? Estimates on size of room? Amy
 
Amy~ I think Santa Monica is a must have!! It was a great/grueling/fun workout. I have 40ft. ropes and I use them in my basement. Since you double them you only need 20 ft. of space. Keep us posted if you get it!
 
Good morning!

I finished in Donkey Kong in 13:20. The burpees are actually hardest for me. I started doing box jumps a couple of years ago when I was rehabbing from ACL surgery. I started low, like 12" and just kept adding risers. It's a moved that's used a lot in ski training, so I did a lot of it.

Deanie - Santa Monica looks brutal.

TGIF Everyone~

I'm only doing my 200 swings today as I have a 5K early tomorrow morning. I usually take it easier the day before a race.

I got STS yesterday but only previewed parts of the first workout. I still don't know how I'm going to fit it in, but I'll figure it out.

Gayle - I love box jumps. I just got a set of 3 plyo boxes. I was using Cathe's high step before. These definitely feel more stable. I hate burpees but I do them anyway.

Vilma - I hope you get a nice refund! I'm still waiting for my W2.

Jane - Where did you get your plyo boxes? I'm still using the high step at home...stability can be an issue. Good luck on your race!
 
Whoohoo it's Friday- I think I have to do Firepower again today, I really enjoyed it the first time and it's bound to be better since I know the workout now!

Vilma- hope you get a nice fat refund, I'm waiting on mine so I can order some ropes for Santa Monica.

Deanie- Wow! Santa Monica sounds tough,I can't wait for it the ropes sound like they are really a good workout!

Jane - Where did you get your plyo boxes? I'm still using the high step at home...stability can be an issue. Good luck on your race!

Gayle - I ordered them from a place called New York Barbells www.newyorkbarbells.com. I found the company on Amazon (just curious to see what else they had) and I liked a set that they did not have on Amazon which is a 3 box set with a larger rectangular platform. It was about $249 but shipping expensive. My sister and I started a join fitness account last year so we had the money for it. You can search Amazon as they have some good deals. I was looking at Perform Better but those are more expensive. I received my shipment in less than a week and everything was in good condition. I love them!

I did my pullup challenge first. 1&3/4, 1, 3/4, 3/4, 1&1/2. I think I will be repeating this week of the challenge since I didn't complete my reps.

I did Rounds 5-8 of Santa Monica:

Squatting Press - 22# barbell (did all - will try 27# next time) - all
Hi Pulls - 20# - all
Staggered Squats - did without weight - tried with 2 weights and then chickened out. - all

Press to Windmill - 25# Did the ladder 1, 2, 3 then rested. Completed 4s.
Suitcase deadlift to row - 25# no problem. Really need a 30#!
Flip-N-Squat - 20# (might try 25# next time) (all)

Clean & press to getup - 22# barbell (will go 5# higher next time) (all)
Super Plank with hip drop - all
Double alternating snatches - 20# - missed last rep on each side

Lunge Cocktails - 25# - did all (balance could have been better)
Squat and jump - all
Open Palm Presses - 20# (all) - felt a little wierd at first with the open palm grip but then it wasn't so bad.

Then I did the All Interval premix from Amy Bento's Hi/Lo Xtreme. Since doing KBs, I've starting exploring the world of premixes and I've missed out on so many good ones.

My endurance is starting to get better. Didn't have to take any extra rests today and got through practically all of the premix except for the last interval.

Jane - Good luck on your 5K! Please let us know how you like STS for those of us who cancelled our preorders. I heard good things about Ab Circuits which I will be getting but wanted to know how STS compares with her other workouts.
