I'm checking in. Yes, I'm planning on going and would love to share a room. Just let me know. I would still love a ride Nadine. I'm only a couple of minutes off I-35, so just swing on by. :)

My husband & I will be staying at a camp ground about 8.5 miles from the Gallaria. I will have to arrange to exchange cell #'s with someone or have a specific meeting place and time. We are bringing our 5th wheel. I am looking forwards to meeting everyone:D

Trulucks Steak and Stone
Chamberlain's Fish Market

anybody else have any ideas????

any thoughts on what to do after dinner?

jes:7

Jes!

Maybe you could all do a Stretch workout together in one of the rooms? Do they have VHS players? I know you couldn't do a lot of jumping around after eating, not to mention the room you would need, but it sure would be fun for you all to do a Cathe tape together. Just an idea! Can't wait to see the pix!

Out of those 3 Dinner places, My vote is 1. Chamberlains (it has the most variety) 2. Trulucks (actually Either of these fish places seem good) and 3.Fogo de Chao (Looks really yummy, but caters toward the red meat people) Now don't get me wrong, I am a true lover of rare red meat (the rare-er the better!) but not everyone is. :(

Here are the links (hope they work) that I found helpful in my decision making. The 2nd link for Fogo is the one I found most useful as it has reviews.

Fogo de Chao

As for after dinner, I'm open for anything! Well it has to be legal!

And as for dress code, I think clothes would be a good idea! I haven't lost all my belly fat yet! ;)

Seriously though, I'm not sure. Are lowrise jeans with heels and a nice shirt dressy enough for those restaurants? That's what I was planning on for dinner. Or should I bring a dress? Also it might depend on what we do after dinner too. Darn if we were men we wouldn't have this problem! They'd grab something out of the closet and be done with it! ARG!

Any suggestions anyone??

P.S. It DOESN'T help that this is the PMS week. I can't make decissions!

Nadine, you are a riot!:+ i vote Chamberlain's too!

thanks for the links. i would think jeans would be ok.

ok, so everyone put your vote in here for where to eat so we don't have to do a hundred emails please!

jes

Thanks Jes (for digging up the details on what we previously discussed)! I have booked a room (I sent you and Marla the details via email) and so we are good to go.

I vote no on Fogo De Chao -- just because I'm not a terribly big meat eater and that's kind-of what they're all about.

I think I mentioned Trulucks Steak and Stone Crab (www.trulucks.com/home.asp) and
Chamberlains Fish Market(www.chefchamberlain.com).

There is also a Chamberlains Steak and Chop House (I always get the 2 of them mixed up) --> restauranteur.com/chamberlains/

All 3 of the steak/fish places are FANTASTIC. So I'm okay with any of the 3. I'll let you all vote and then I can make a reservation when we get a final headcount!

#1. Trulucks
#2. Chamberlains Fish Market
#3. Chamberlains Steak and Chop House
#4. <other suggestion>

Jes had a good idea regarding what to do BEFORE dinner -- maybe some happy hour drinks in a hotel restaurant/bar/lounge.

After dinner -- would you guys want to go dancing? Or would you rather go someplace more quiet for talking (like a bar or something)? Any other suggestions? I know there are several dance places (Carsons Live -- I've actually been there and it is nice but LOUD and very meat-markety. Of course that means the boys will be all over you FIT women!) What am I saying -- DFW is meat-markety period, right?!

As for the dress code (GREAT question, Jes) -- the restaurant is pretty nice. I'd say dress-casual to semi-formal (ie, might feel a little out of place in jeans...although I've worn them there before). Probably no shorts, although women can get by with a lot of variations on the shorts thing. For the club thing (if we decide to do a dancing evening), the dress code varies from jeans/shorts to streetwalker to designer suits/dresses. What I'm trying to say is that almost anything goes. I'm a jeans girl, myself but may try dressing up a little for y'all.

For anyone who hasn't been to the Galleria -- it is nice and they have, I believe, done a lot of renovation on it. So you may want to spend a little time in the mall.

Okay...that's enough talking from me. Please vote on your desired restaurant using the numbers above :) Also specify what you would like to do after dinner.

YAY...yippeee...I get to meet CATHE people!!!
thanks,
Shonie

Nadine --

YOU ROCK! We must have been typing at the same time! Okay, I can see already that we think a LOT alike.

I think your jeans w/dressy shirt ensemble will be just fine (and then I can wear my jeans too :)) Just hope we don't end up in the same outfit :) I don't think you could get me in a dress.

My vote is for Chamberlains too.

Shonie

i vote for whichever chamberlains has meat! i want a steak most likely!!!

i plan on wearing a dress wherever we go.

i don't really want to go anywhere that we can't hear ourselves talk/think. i love dancing, but i can do that anytime and i don't get to visit with girls ever!!!

jes

I was a little worried there when I read, dress code. I thought I was back in school. You mean I can't wear my pajamas:D Just kidding. I vote for either Chamberlains. Before dinner a place like a lounge or someplace to talk would be nice. I am pretty sure the Westin has one of their own. It has been awhile since I have been there. I like dancing. We could work off some dinner that way.
