Crest Premium works well, although I can only use them once a day every other day. By the third treatment my teeth are very sore and my gums are sensitive, but I notice a change. If my teeth weren't this sensitive I know I'll get great results. I'd like to try the Rembrandt kind. The ad says it has something in it that minimizes sensitivity.
Talking of teeth whitening and dentists... I have left every dentist who has pitched whitening and tried to persuade me over and over to do it. Here in Dallas, what I think is the mecca of plastic surgery, laser hair treatments and mouth restorations, there seems to be much pressure in dentists' offices to sell these treatments. Hygenists rave about it the way cosmetic reps promote their wares. So far, no hygenist I've ever talked to has said anything positive about the OTC products. Well, these in-office treatments aren't covered by insurance, and there's no way I'm spending so much for something that will last for only a few months when I am raising a special needs child. I had a dentist whose office actually called a dental surgeon's office for me -- without my knowledge or consent -- because such dentist wanted so much for me to get a dental implant. I told the dental surgeon's office that they can GIVE me an implant but I don't have six grand budgeted for it. Such dentist also made me feel ugly for declining in-office teeth whitening. Such dentist must've thought that since my husband was, at the time, working for a software company whose stock went up from the low $90s to the high $390s that there had to be a stock split, that we could afford all these doodads. Anyway, pardon the rant... but I'll stick to the OTC stuff.
