taught Rhythmic Step today...

Joyce you weren't alone with your concerns.

I can understand where you are coming from. I had the same exact thoughts as you did when I first read this post before anyone responded. I thought to myself I wonder if that is acceptable. As you can see, like you, I am not in the industry, therefore I wouldn't have known it to be acceptable. I'm glad you voiced your concerns because it has made many of us who aren't in the industry a little wiser.

I hope you or Seazun aren't offened, because we are all hear to learn from one another. We all learned something from this post. People on this forum generally do not try to offend each other. It's hard to express opinions or concerns on paper, because it can be read anyway people want to read it. I have been guilty of it. Let's try and not read negative thoughts into any posts, until you are certain of the posters intentions.

Cathe, thanks for being generous and tactful as always.

Thanks for the good information from everyone. I think it is very cool that you are in a friendly industry where you can share your ideas, if only all industries could be like that.

I meant to post just about the exact same thing! Thank you for
saying it so much better than I could. And it goes to show you that we are never too old to learn something new. Fitness professionals are a different breed--good for them!

Cathe/SNM, I think it is very gracious of you to come out and so openly express how you don't mind instructors sharing your choreography with their students. I have never been a step instructor, but I have always thought it must be a mind boggling task to keep coming up with fresh choreography for one's class and I admire those who share ideas with teachers to make their job easier.

SeasunZ, I think it is also great that you openly come out and credit Cathe for the choreography in your recent class. That not only gives your students a chance to buy Cathe's tapes and use them when they cannot get to the gym, but it helps Cathe's business as well, so she can keep making tapes for those of us who never get to a gym.

Best wishes to everyone who have posted their opinions and concerns on this matter.
