Tai Chi in Bodycombat?

So how do you instructors learn proper form for the tai chi cool down? My sister in law looks AWESOME doing this and I wish I could learn how to place my hands, etc. I haven't asked her yet, thought I'd check here first. I just feel so awkward doing it and when you do it right, it looks beautiful.

Just keep your body relaxed adn feel it mentally. I took tai chi classes a few years back - it was fantastic. I loved doing it.

Doing our "form" in Tae Kwon Do is my favorite part. Form is a series of choreographed stances, blocks, punches and strikes that are to improve your form (ha - obviously) and focus. It's very much like tai chi. It's great to watch the black belts doing their forms. They've got 3 different versions.

Hey Heidisue:) It's just like getting to Carnegie Hall.....practise, practise, practise....:7 All of the LesMills program instructors receive a training DVD about 6 weeks before it's release. Within the training DVD the class is broken down with more focus on specific moves and tracks. This really helps with getting the proper hand placement and flow. When I would get a training DVD it almost always felt awkward doing the tai chi in the beginning but after watching over and over and over again, with practise it would eventually come together. With tai chi it's all about tucking the tail, lifting the chest and crown (tight core) and relaxing the arms. If you've got your form down the rest is more about how it feels than how it looks.:) I hear you though, some people look so natural doing the BodyCombat variation of tai chi, others never seem to get comfortable with it.

Take Care
