Surprised by amount of stability ball use???

I just got KPC & LG, and SS & PP. Maybe I am a purist but I am surprised by amount of use of the stability ball in the weight workouts. (I have not done work out just got DVD's today and previewed them.) Did anyone else think the same thing?? I am so used to MIS, PS, pyramid type weight workouts. How will these workouts compare to traditional MIS, etc.? Help!!

I was one of those members that suggested to Cathe to use more of the stability ball. It incorporates so many more muscles due to the fact that your trying to balance yourself on the ball its really quite effective. You will, however, have to go lighter w/your weights but just until you get acclimated to the exercises & the balancing factor & then you'll be able to up the weights. These strength training workouts are a GREAT compliment to all the other traditional weight workouts that you should never plateau. Have fun & I surely am!!!! Best, Kathy:D

I was surprised--but pleasantly so-- when the pictures of the weight workouts were posted, and many of them showed moves on the stability ball. For me, that made the workouts even more interesting and desireable. If you are used to more traditional weight workouts (as most of us are), the use of a stability ball is a wonderful change, that adds a good element of stability and core work with each exercise. Even when doing Cathe's more traditional weight workouts, I will often use the stability ball as a seat.

I was thrilled Cathe used the ball lots this time! I definitely feel your are using more muscles while you do the exercises so that is a bonus! Also, it's great to shake up what you are used to. Let us know what you think.

I hope there are some leg exercises using the ball like the stuff in PLB. The deal where you put one heel on the ball, raise the other leg in the air and push up gives my hams a better workout than anything else I've tried - even the same move on the step in PS Legs and Abs!

Angela~Cathe does do that hamstring/glute move again in L&G's but she uses the High Step lowered. You can always use the ball instead though! :)

Ha, ha, Kathryn- I do too!! I never sit on my tall box anymore! And I have worked up to almost the same weight on the ball as I do on the box. It took some practice though! :D
