Supersets/Push Pull or Muscle Max?

Both the Supersets/Push Pull and Muscle Max dvds interest me, but I'm not sure which would be the better investment. Cathe's Ultimate Guide rates the difficulty level of Supersets/Push Pull around 6 and MM an 8.

Which one do you prefer? Are there any other Cathe total body strength dvds that you feel are better than these ones?

Thanks for your help!

I definetely prefer MM. I never use SS/PP. It's just not intense enough for me. I absolutely adore MM--it's Cathe's best total body workout, IMO. It also has a killer ab workout at the end.

SS/PP has some great premixes but I've never gotten into them. They involve repeating segments two or three times and I get so bored!

Hi,

I do agree with Allison that SS in not intense enough. I found out that I "outgrew" it quickly. MM seems much better (I just orderd it so I can't comment it yet!)

I think it depends what you are looking for. I love MM. It is a great total body workout and its challenging. But I also like SS/PP. They are not as challenging done as is, but they have so many options. The premixes and workout blender make the possiblities endless. I have also found if I go heavy with weights using SS/PP, I get a great intense workout in less time. I do have to say when I use SS/PP I am almost always using the premixes (which I like)

I personally think they are both great and you will enjoy/get results with either choice.

eta: My personal favorite full body workout is PH. A great full body workout, awesome abs and its on a dvd with 2 other really good workouts. When I first started with Cathe this was one of my first workouts. I did PH monday, wed. and fri with cardio on 2 days for a monthly rotation and got GREAT results!!

I totally agree with this - SS/PP is *incredibly* underrated, because I think most people don't use heavy enough weights. You are NOT rep'd to death, which makes these workouts ideal (and designed for) going heavy. You can easily get an equivalently difficult total body workout with SS/PP in much less time than MM.

That said, you can't really go wrong with either - MM is awesome, but it's bordering on overkill for a TB workout. But, if time isn't a factor, or you will be using it primarily for UB/LB splits, it's a really good workout.
