Sunday in the :::CHEETAH::: den!

Anxious Cheetah who is still waiting on the official race results reporting in for personals!:7

Sunny: I love GH. I didn't at first cause I didn't think I was coordinated enough to do it but I have the hang of it now and think it's awesome. All of the sports games that come with the system are fun as well. I also bought a Carnival game. Very cute and fun as well. :) No work out to report from y'day. I Wii'd instead!:7 I know what it's like to not want to race. I was like that at first last year. I hope you change your mind but if not that's fine too. Just don't stop runnin' girl!:D

Carole: Glad you like the perfect push up bars. I haven't even taken mine out of the box yet! Thanks for the good luck wishes for the race. All of the good energy must've helped cause I did better then I ever expected!!!!

Judy: I like to do push ups believe it or not!}(

Kath: LMBO at guitar hero hand. It STILL hurts!:7 DH is workin' a long night shift tonight so I will have the Wii all to myself from 8pm when DS goes to bed and on. I'm going to practice like crazy so I can kick his arse when we play next time!}( DH got a cheat code to open up all of the songs in quick play mode (except for the "encores" you haven't unlocked yet) so we can practice them before we have to do them in the real game! HAH! We are such a bunch of cheaters!:7

Jackie: How's the packing coming along? Do you have a definate moving date?

Christine: Glad the finger is feeling better. PLEASE be careful not to whack it again, okay? :) Last night when I was playing GH I realized that I play it BETTER while drinking "beverages" but I didn't want to partake last night due to this morning's race. I better watch out though or I could become a real boozer!:p

Linda: So how did your run go with your friend last night? Have you tried Guitar Hero yet? }(

Wendi: Thanks for the race vibes girl! It would have been wonderful to have you there with me.

Cathy: So how goes it?

Shelly: OMG that is such wonderful news about the nursing liscense! YAY! I know you'll get a job in no time! You'll have the pick of the litter for sure! Choose wisely!;) So the app for the 18 mile race is filled out and hanging on my fridge waiting to be sent in! YIKES!}(

Afternoon Cheetah!

Wendy ~ Congrats on the race!! Great time! How are the legs feeling? Do you stretch more when you get home?

Judy ~ LOL! on your comment to Carole! I wouldn't go right to fun w/the PP. ha ha!}( Your ITB issue is resolved? Way to go on the run!

Carole ~ Thanks for the b-day wishes for DD. I buy a lot of Alexia products. The sweet potato fries are my fav. Way to go on the 6 miles!

Sunny ~ Way to go on the stairs! I saw my friend today at a b-day party and we were making our stair schedule. :) Thanks for the heads up on the KB workout. I've started a list. ;-)

Jackie ~ How's packing going? Good job on the run y-day.

Christine ~ Funny what your dh said about the KB's. I can't wait to try All Body Attack. Sounds like another goody! The time did fly w/ITR. I couldn't believe the calorie burn either. I got way more goofed up on Hi/Lo Knockout. :(

Wendi ~ Happy Anniversary!! What did you end up doing? How's the colicky horse?

Cathy ~ Doing the happy dance for you!!! What a relief!! Way to go getting 'er done! ;-) Thanks about the Wii release. That will be a good one! :)

Linda ~ I did much better w/In the Ring than Hi/Lo Knockout. See below. IA they will both be workouts I'll use often once I get the moves down. On some parts I was on the wrong leg, but I just kept going. LOL!

Shelly ~ YEAH!!! Finally, got your PA license. Good luck job hunting now. :) Wow! You got some workouts planned for today, don't you!?!?! What did you think of Hi/Lo Knockout?

I did Hi/Lo Knockout y-day. Now that one frustrated me! UGH! I did the Warm up, Combo/Interval 1, Combo/Interval 2, Combination 1 & 2, repeat all except w/u. I needed to work on 1 & 2 some more. Next time I'll work on 3 & 4. That still brought me to a little over an hour. I know I'll like both ITR and H/L Knockout once I get the choreography learned.

DD's party went until midnight. Needless to say, no early morning workout. Not sure if anything will happen at this point. Maybe I'll get a second wind. We had a b-day party this afternoon, so just home from that.

Hi to anyone else who stops by!

Wendy - Can't wait to hear your "official" results! But from what you know...they are going to be awesome! you did great! My run with my friend yesterday was tough for me because I had done MM and had to rush straight from that and my was really tired. But ...it was good! It is really nice to run with someone! We ran about 7 miles. No....I have not tried GH! My DD and her DH have it. I am going to have to go visit her so that I can try it! :D Where is the 18 mile race???

Dallas - We were posting at the same time! Oh dear...I haven't gotten my Hi/Lo Knockout yet. I hope I don't get too frustrated with it! Good job on your making your way through 1&2! That is a good way to do do it! Wow!!! Lots of BD parties for you! Did you have fun??

Linda

Hi Friends!

It’s me, MIA Cheetah. I’ve missed everyone the past couple weeks but sometimes I just get too much on my plate and have to step away from the computer fun periodically. Also, kids had Spring break and we spent some time down at “Posh” sister’s house in Sebastopol as well…nice visit as always. I’m finally over the bronchitis/flu crap that held out for weeks and I enjoyed a nice 6 miles this morning with my friend. I have to get back up to par since we run the Santa Cruz half marathon in 2 weeks…yikes! I also have not lost a pound since the beginning of the month so this week I’m really going to turn up the discipline (aka – getting’ out the can of whoop-ass on myself) in order to break through the plateau. Obviously I don’t have the time to read the last couple of weeks of posts so me thinks I’ll just jump in from today …..

Shelly – CONGRATULATIONS on your PA license! HIGH FIVES! Sounds like you are really progressing well with your relocation plans…..Also, please forgive me for being absent on your birthday – I just looked at the cheetah bday list to see if I missed anyone and sure enough I said out loud “oh $heet, I missed that crazy girl’s birthday!” …so, please accept this as my belated birthday wishes:

http://img10.glitterfy.com/graphics/33/snoopy_bday.gif

Wendi – WOW, you really need a new job! Good of you to care for the horses though…(pat on the back)…. Happy Anniversary! Hope you enjoy your day!

Cathy – Busy bunny Cheetah – Good luck with your “package”. Good idea to take a personal day to make sure everything is right. You’re killing me with your Wii talk and the games you own. My DS would LOVE to come over and keep you company! lol….Um, I agree about the PP talk and enabling…sheesh, a cheetah is absent from the den a short time and comes back to another cheetah’s endorsement of something and boom! – I’m thinking about where I could get some PP’s….lol….Youz guyz could sell me the Brooklyn Bridge!

Judy – Good job running with your friend – I know what you mean about the hills though. Auburn sounds the same as your town – rolling hills. My friend does better on them than me most times but I have found that if I have thrown in some Grace hill training on the treadmill then I do better outside. Good luck tomorrow!

Kath- Hi there, nice to meet you Lucky Cheetah….Lucky…yay, does this mean you have lots of luck and will pick my wining lotto numbers for me? LOL…I have 3 kids as well, DD18, DD17, and DS 15 all turn up another year in June/July….

Hi Carole – Ok, so where can I get the PP’s for $20? Actually, DS has been hinting that they would make a great addition to the weight room…uh hem, yes, he’s referring to my “garage”…lol Now I have to go to yesterday’s post and see Judy’s comment….

Hi sunny! By the way, I never mentioned that I really like your revised Cheetah name! Fits you perfectly. How come we can’t see the lovely photo of the munchkins anymore? Or is it just my computer?....

Christine – I hope everything went ok for your DH and MIL. I went missing about then… OMG about your sister and having a 2 year old at 40….I can’t imagine….although, my oldest sister had my niece when she was 39 so I guess the same thing. Are you still finagling UPS/FedEx deliveries around DH’s absences from the home? LOL..jk

Linda – Ok, what’s In the Ring? I missed a lot of stuff I guess. Sounds like it is kick boxing, but who is it by? Yeah, like I REALLY should be asking because it sounds like I’m too uncoordinated for it anyway…lol

WENDY!! ROCK ON! Again, you have done a most AWESOME job on your run! Holy Cow, I still remember when you were taking baby-steps to get up to a couple of miles. Well, congratulations on a job very well done. I am so impressed with your running progress. You’ve inspired me to spark the match that will get me off my a$$ and in gear to get back up to “speed” (pun intended) with my running times…. By the way, what is HEED? Why don’t you try using some Accelerade for running longer distances? I do and it seems to work better and I think because of the protein ratio….just a thought.

Well, I feel better that I was able to post to you girls today – ya’ll have been in my thoughts! …I must get on with the laundry and get dinner going - Enjoy the rest of Sunday!

ETA: HI DALLAS!! I didn't see you in there! why don't you have Windy City Cheetah anymore? Just wondering...

Thomasina :7

Wendy...http://img11.glitterfy.com/graphics/182/congrats_3.gif[/img] and a you did a great time! Have you ever tried the Endurolytes from Hammer Gel? They are great for preventing cramping...I wonder if it might help too with the achy hips? I am so proud of you...:D...I bet you will like the PP's.

Linda...hey don't be shameful about your workout room. Mine has been messy for too long to mention...:(...I have not done Amy's KBX for some time myself. It seemed to irritate my hip, but I will try the new one and go easy.

Dallas...no sweet potato fries for me....YUK!...I have always though Amy's Hi/Lo was a bit complex. I bet you will do better with ITR. Wow..DD's party sounds like it went well!!

Posh...nice to see ya! Glad you got over the crap! I have not been eating too cleanly myself...I could kick myself over a few things lately!! You can get the PP's at most of the discount stores for $20. I got mine at Rite-Aid. I can't see Sunny's pic either?

Took a break from cleaning and watched "Aliens"....forgot how intense that one was...

Hi Girls.

Carole: Never used Endurolytes but the Heed that I mentioned is a hammer product that I have used and it prevents cramping as well. It's a sports drink with electrolytes in it and it's much better quality then Gatorade although I must say that Gatorade worked like a charm after my half and it IS much cheaper. It's just too darned sweet to drink DURING the race! BLECH! Heed has a very light citrus flavor. It's not bad at all. The Endurolytes are the capsules you take before running right? I looked at them when you mentioned them to me after my half but I am not good at taking pills so if it's larger then an aspirin I try to to avoid it unless it chewable or can be crushed and taken mixed in liquid or food. Thanks for the congrats! I am hurtin' right now but on cloud 9 at the same time!;)

Posh: Can't wait to hear about your upcoming half! You must post a race report for us come hell or high-water!!!!}( Thanks re the race and my running. Ever since I started training for the half I did in October things have really been picking up for me! I've improved more in a few short months then I did the entire year or more prior!
Glad you had a nice visit with sis. Hope life slows down a bit so you can pop in more frequently now. We miss you when you aren't around!:)

Dallas: Thanks re my time. My legs are KILLING me, dagnamit!:p I am going to pop in a stretching vid after DS goes to bed to see if I can work some of the kinks out. I am also taking a rest day from working out tmrw but want to stretch again. I feel for you with the tricky choreo from hi/lo knock out. I tend to leave tricky choreo work outs on the shelf as I'm too impatient to learn them. x(

Linda: Wow, you ran an impressive distance for being tired from doing MM! You go girl! I hope you get your hi/lo knock out vid soon...and in one piece!;)

Wendy- Way to go today!!!! Your time was awesome! You have done so well especially since your weekly milage is not so high! maybe that is the secret? I am definitely scaling down my cardio with NROL.

Shelly- Good news about your license! I did not realize even hospitals do online applications now too.

Kath- no I am not training for any races, just my friend. I hope you DS had a nice trip back to school. And I hope you survived the visit with the in-laws.

Sunny- I'll be a week behind you in NROL I went to the web site today to get a feel for what participants are saying. I think I better examine my diet and get a bit more accurate with it. 5-6 small healthy meals. I can do it with planning, and KISS (keeping it super simple) I found a link to the one arm dumbbell snatch

http://youtube.com/watch?v=hxX2pp-PySU

Is that similar to KB type moves? I am just curious.

Linda- 7 miles after MM? ouchie! These Cheetahs are the best!

Guess what? Another friend of mine whom I describe as a cardio junkie, had discovered P90X! She was a 6 day a week cardio only workout fanatic . She is starting week two of the X and is pretty positive about the program. I am really happy for her!

Hi Thomassina!

Dallas & Carole- My pain is gone! knock on wood. I did not feel it at all on my 6.5 mile run or afterwards. Perhaps I stretched out a tight spot? who knows? keep your fingers crossed!

Wendy ~ Checking in to read your report. You go girl!!! Great job, I'm super proud of you!!! As for the tight hips, make sure you're stretching your IT bands well after a run, that's how it started w/ my IT band injury. And I see you guys are talking Wii games, we got one a couple weeks ago and are having a blast with it! Greg & I have been having Guitar Hero contests too. ;-)

*waving hi to all of the Cheetahs* I know, it's been a while since I checked in here. A little update for anyone interested... I'm still running (injury-free)! I was supposed to run a half this weekend, but have an injured running buddy (achilles tendonitis) so it looks like I won't be doing it. I've been running 4-8 miles regularly and feeling great. I have a few other races planned along w/ my first sprint triathlon in June. Finishing up my 3rd round of the X (and X+) and loving it!! Girls are doing great and keep me busy. Hannah's 9, Kiersten just turned 7, and Allison is 4 1/2.

Looks like everyone is still doing great around here! Take care.

Thought I'd take a study break. No workout to report. I'll make it up tomorrow! }(

Judy ~ Awesome about your pain being gone! Keeping my fingers crossed for you! That is great about your friend. How much did she scale back her cardio since starting the X. I love the program too. My friend saw an informercial and she called me and said, You're doing that!!!" LOL!

Wendy ~ I'm determined to learn these new workouts! They are so much fun when you figure it all out! Did you get your yoga/stretch workout done? Did you hear the official results? I bet you're on cloud nine!!! :D

Carole ~ Don't like sweet potatoes, huh? Yeah, dh's grandma & parents were even here until 11:30P. My one friend polished off a bottle of Chardonnay by herself. I had 3 glasses of Pinot Nior. No wonder I had a headache this AM. ;-) That's one past my limit. :+ Love that "Congrats" to Wendy! :) Get all your cleaning done?

Posh ~ I've been wondering what happened to you! Glad you're back and well! IA about the Brooklyn Bridge...watch out kettlebells is the craze now.:D I have Iron Core, but it seems AOS is the one to have! Oh, I want to come up with another Cheetah name...less location specific. Just haven't figured one out yet. It's goofy...I know.

Linda ~ When I repeated combos 1 & 2 I did much better. It will be so nice when it's all learned! Today's b-day was for DS5's friend. They played baseball, basketball, floor hockey, and dodge ball. They had a great time.:)

Well, breaks over...back to the books.

Oh, did you see the blog and the new piece of equipment? Anyone getting it?

Hi Jess! That's a bummer about your race. We should sign up for a race somewhere between us. That would be fun! I can't find anyone here to sign up with me. :( Good luck with your training for your June triathlon. :)

Ooh, you let me know, girl!! I'm sure there are lots of races around. My other running buddy is finally coming off of an injury also so I've been using the Y treadmill which is NOT as fun!! :-(
