Sunday in the :::CHEETAH::: den!

Cathlete
Good morning (I think) Cheetahville!

Since I'm up I figured I'd start us off today....

{{{{{{{CHEETAH POWER}}}}}}}} to Wendy! Have a great race! I really wish I could have run this one with you.

Well, the colicky mare was no different around 1:00 so I gave her more meds and headed back home to sleep for another two hours...and people wonder why I don't want to do this anymore *rolls eyes*.

Ack, I need to get going. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Stopped by the forums yesterday morning but ran out of time to post to the check-ins.

Dallas :: sometimes the signature line doesn’t show up with the first post I make…it’s still there, though…I definitely will let you know if I happen to get over by your neck o’ the woods…I have 4 of Amy’s – an abs and stretch tape, Slo-Mo, 10 Min. Solutions and the Hi-Dome, but in all candor, I don’t reach for them that often. I think I just have too many choices! Wii Fit will be released in May.

Sunny :: I have Super Mario Galaxy but only played it once. Seemed complicated. :) I don’t get to play that often, at least for the time being. Although I took a few breaks from writing last week with GH3…I think that one is good for hand-eye coordination… I also have Wario Ware, which is kinda nutty but fun, Carnival Games, Table Tennis, and of course, Wii Sports. Still haven’t tried Firepower. BTW, try the tutorials for GH and practice mode. That helps.

Kath :: I lost it when I read the expression: “a$$-high in baking.” You are one funny cheetah! How was the movie?

Wendy :: I have Carnival Games, too. It’s cute. Have fun rockin’ out! It’s addicting…
http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/exercise/th_roadrunner.gif good luck today! We’re rootin’ for ya, of course, and looking forward to the race report.

Carole :: with all these good reviews for the PPs, sounds like I’ll be enabled soon.

Jackie :: hope you made good progress with the packing.

Christine :: glad your finger is on the mend!

Linda :: cute new avatar! I use wrist guards Sunny recommended and love them. I did call customer service—the DVD is still on back-order. Curious how they found one for you, but it doesn’t matter. Just wanted to be sure my order was still in and coming to me eventually.

Wendi :: happy anniversary!! Hope you can shake it off and enjoy yourself.

OK, I think I'm caught up. Warm hellos to the rest of the cheetah gang!

I've not been working out. Just scrambling to get the portfolio in the mail tomorrow. Met with my mentor for two hours yesterday and have been working through many revisions of all four entries. Today I'll finalize those revisions, go make copies of everything, and then begin packing. Every paper must be in a precise order and labeled a certain way. I've taken a personal day tomorrow so I can take care of any last-minute issues http://ephatch.com/forum/images/smilies/nervous.gif and then send 'er off.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

ETA: Christine :: Donald is my hero! Great story.

hello Friends-

I came back yesterday afternoon and wrote a post. I was sure I posted it , but it is not there. grrrr...

Wendi- I am sorry about your demands at work. I sincerely hope another career opportunity reveals itself to you.

Cathy- Is this the final requirement for the NB? Good luck with all your finishing touches and last minute adjustments. :)

Jackie- Did you get many boxes packed? I had such great satisfaction from getting rid of stuff we would never use again. There is something about being uncluttered that I identify with. (It probably comes from being raised in a tiny house with a large family)

Wendy- GOOD LUCK today!!!!!

Carole- I hope you laughed at my comment. I just was in a goofy mood. I am glad you gave the PP a good review. How was your circuit ?

Sunny- I will plan on starting NROL on the 7th of April, Monday. I will do 3 workouts per week and I am thinking one endurance run, and two shorter ones that should be more intense. My thought right now is NROL MWF and run TuThSa.

I did a 6.5 mile run outside yesterday with a friend. She is marathon training, and her trainer has her doing a lot of tempo runs. Plus all the routes around here have multiple hills. She did really well on the hills. I felt crappy in the hills myself. We will run again together tomorrow.

*lol* Judy. I like when you're in a goofy mood. Chuckled at your comment to Carole yesterday. :7 This is it for the portfolio part of it, and then the final requirement will be a computer-based test in June. Thank you for the good wishes. Appreciate it! :)

Morning Girls :)

Today is my rest day. I also need to run over to MIL's. That's always a treat :) DS heads back to college today, we need to drop him off later this afternoon.

Wendy: Good luck on your run :) :)

Cathy: We ended up seeing SemiPro. It was an ok movie. DS and DH liked it

I best get going. We need to stop for bagels before we hit MIL's. Is it too early to start drinking?????:+

Good morning cheetahs

http://www.deepbox.com/media/i/HnfBhxzHbhisffH.gif[/img] to Wendy on her 10 miler today!!!

Wendi...sorry about the colicky horse...Happy Anniversary to you and your DSO...:D

Cathy...and the best thing is the PP's are only $20 at the discount stores...That is good you have a personal day tomorrow to get everything in order. I never would have known that NB could be such a LONG process...I bet you will be relived to have the portfolio part done...:)

Judy...Of course I laughed at your comment! I had no idea you did not like push-ups...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/8/greenwinky.gif[/img] Good job on the 6.5 mile run with your friend. When is her marathon?

Kath..Have fun at your MIL's....how big is her liquor cabinet?...:D...How many kids do you have?

I will be doing a 5-6 mile run and some of it with my sister and friend.

Have a great day...:)

Carole: Not big enough :) I'm 41. I have three kids. DD is 22. DS is 20 and youngest DD is 18. Had them young :)

Judy: Are you training with your friend?

Ok I'm stalling--I best get moving LOL

Kath...at 41 you are just a youngster!!...:D...I think having kids early is a good thing...thanks for sharing.

Hello and Happy Sunday,

wendi- have a great day with DSO hopefully you will be able to be yourself and enjoy your time together.

carole- enjoy your run with your sister. how far does she live from you?

cathy- i've heard good things about carnival also. may have pick that one up. i hope you will finish up with your NB process soon. don't worry about working out. you will get back to it asap. i will take your recommendation and try the practice mode. hopefully that will help me "get it".

wendy- go cheetah go!!! can't wait to hear your race report. maybe your excitement will be contagious. right now i am in no mood to do any races.

kath- lol, re: your mil and drinking. hard to believe there are more "marie's" around. fortunately i get along with mine.

judy- we will be on the same schedule for NWOL4W. i am doing mwf (weights) and t,th,s will be cardio days. can't wait to start tomorrow. i also feel "crappy" running hills, lol.

today is a rest day. YES!!

have a great day to all of you lovely cheetah women:)

First of all – GO WENDY GO!!!! And most importantly. HAVE FUN!!

Carole – I have a great time mixing up all of the workouts – your new KB/BG mish mosh sounds wonderful! Thanks for the info on Alexcia onion rings! Sounds great. I knew Fed Ex delivered on Saturday, but did not know Fed Ex Ground did – UPS Ground does not. Weird. Another fan of dark chocolate. YUM!

Wendi – You must be exhausted! I would think the owner of the mare would be worried and do that – not require the barn manager to. Jeesh. Hope today goes quickly and Miss Toad behaves herself! Happy Anniversary!

Cathy – Glad to see your smiling face today! We missed you. The count down is here, eh? Good luck with everything! I’m cheering you on! Curious as to whether you managed Firepower or if you decided to concentrate on the NB's. That story about Donald is great, isn’t it?

Judy – Sounds like a great run with your friend.

Kath – Enjoy your rest day. Enjoy (?) your trip to MIL’s. I’m another one who is happy to have had kids fairly earlier. I’m 43 and my youngest is 15. My sister is 40 and her youngest is 2. I love them to pieces, but I’m reminded every time I see them of the challenges (and fun) of the young ones.

Sunny – Enjoy your rest day! Hope it’s not raining and you can get in some gardening!

I’m going to do In the Ring today! I’m excited about this one. It’s so fun getting new workouts. Then I’ll do a CookMax to get ready for the week. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning cheetahs:) Work on Fri nite was one of those ones from hell I'm afraid. No time for a break at all... went 12.5 hrs straight running my a$$ off with no food. Pretty fried when I got home but recovered after a couple hours nap and got in a nice w/o with HiLoknockout. Yest. afternoon DH and I went out target shooting with my sis and BIL... had alot of stress relieving fun:D
Still felt enough energy to do AllBody Cardio after supper:)

I do have some good news to share. I persisted with my phone inquiries to CalStateLA and this time got a much more informed and cooperative person :) My transcripts were indeed sent... then I called the PA Board of Nursing and my license has been approved and is in the mail.... YAHOO! I can relax now and start intensive job searching. Not a bit worried about being able to find a job... it's just a matter of choosing really. I have been at work at updating my resume. At most hospitals now you can apply on line.

Wendy- Thinking of you now and sending positive racing vibes!!!!
Cant wait to hear the race report! Also SO LOOKING FORWARD to our 18 miler together:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

Wendi- Thinking of you too now... so busy with that job of yours!!!
Are you riding Miss Toad today?

Cathy- Our uber busy cheetah, speaking of work!!! Glad to hear you are at the end of the portfolio work at least:7 :7

Judy- I'd be willing to bet some mucho bucks that on that run your friend was thinking "Gee, Judy sure does handle these hills well... I feel like crap!" Anyway, that's great that you are running with her... is she sharing some good tips from her coach?

Kath- LOL about the liquor cabinet and your MIL!! Gave me a nice chuckle to start the day with!! WOW, only 41 and with kids in college:eek: I'd be willing to bet you rival your DS's girlfriends in the looks dept!;-)

Carole- Say HI to Karen for me. Running with you and her definitely ranks with one of my fondest memories!!!! Okay, you convinced me... the next time I'm at Wallyworld or Target I am getting those perfect pushups! BTW, I had a dinner last night with Quorn "Chicken".... loved it!

Sunny- Hope you have a fabulous and fun rest day.

I'll be in for a bit of fun myself later today. My Dad is celebrating his 80th Birthday with a big GTG at a local park... pot luck lunch. I've made a tasty Vegan Brown Rice salad. Off for my run now. I'll be going for 6-7 miles. Later this afternooon when we're back it'll be the Viper.

ShellyC

Hi Christine! Posting at the same time this morning:) New workouts are indeed one of life's pleasures:7 At least with this crazy group of cheetahs and the other forum participants here!
Glad you had a good sweaty workout with AllBody Attack yesterday.
I'll likely be doing that one later this week. I've missed it.
Looking forward to hearing your preview of In the Ring!

ShellyC

Oh Shelly - that's good news about the license! You definitely have an advantage of choosing your job! I hope you find a great place. I really did enjoy All Body Attack yesterday. It's tough! OUCH! I did it on an 8" step for the first time. Wow. I love that Quorn Chicken. The beef isn't as good IMO, but the chicken is fantastic. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your dad!!! Enjoy your run! I'll let you know what I think of In The Ring. Although, I've been hearing such good things about Hi/Lo Cardio knockout, that I want to do both! Yeah, that's not going to happen. :p

Oh, my!! In the Ring is a BLAST! Comparing it to KBX is like comparing HLD to HLX. HLD is more refined and more well done. ITR is easier to get that KBX, which doesn't mean it's a breeze. There were definitely spots where I stood there and stared! I got to the 4th combination and was brain fried, but did it anyway - it was fun. The intervals a athletic and fun. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who like kickbox. Her form is MUCH better and there are no real questionable moves. A few times, I didn't quite get the foot change (in one combinations she does a roundhouse, to a shin block to a roundhouse all on the same leg, then goes to a front kick - and the kick seems like it should be on the other foot - but then again, I'm a spaz). And the spin kick is a bit challenging - I have it on one side, but cannot get it on the other! Go figure. The time just FLEW. I was thinking the workout was much shorter than she said it was, until I looked at my watch to see that 72 minutes had indeed passed. And I burned MAJOR calories. A fun, fun workout.

Wendi – My goodness. That is really a “job” with the colicky mare, isn’t it? I’ll bet you are exhausted!

Wendy – Good lucky on your race!!!

Cathy – That is really strange about the DVD and me getting it already. I feel guilty :<( I am sorry! I will have to get the wrist guards that Sunny recommended! There is no way I am going to be able to do these workouts without wrist guards! So, does that mean after tomorrow…..you will be done? If so…”yay”!!!
Thanks for the comment on the avatar :>)

Judy –I am sorry you didn’t feel so well on the hills! Good job on your run, though!

Kath – Enjoy your visit with you MIL ;>) I’ll bet you’ll miss your DS! Does he attend a college that is not close to home?

Carole – Enjoy your run!

Sunny – Thanks for much for the link for the wrist guards! I will get them! Have they saved your wrists?

Christine – We must be on the same wave length! I did In The Ring today.! I actually had wanted to do it yesterday, but my friend called and wanted to run! (I never turn down someone that will run with me!!! ;>) ) Now…somehow I missed the story that everyone is talking about. ) I am going to go search for it after I post!

Shelly – Awww! That is sooo awesome about your dad’s birthday party! You are so lucky to still have him! 80 y/o…that is wonderful!
Enjoy the party, the run …and the Viper!!!
Great news about your license!

This morning I tried In The Ring for the first time. I was sooo frustrated during the first half, for some reason. I had some trouble getting into the workout and just could not get my heartrate up. It was hard not to yank the thing out and go run. But….when I hit the second half…I started getting into it and I started having fun. I know after I learn the moves and do it a couple more times …I will like it!

After In The Ring…I did the 1st ab section of Amy’s Abs and Stretch. That was it for today! :>)

Have a great day!

Linda

Christine - I totally agree with you on the "foot change"! There were several sections where I would want to be on the other foot! It was when she was doing the front kicks and then the ..I think crosses. But she would kind of just stop and start with the same foot she had previously done. I loved the last couple of sections, though! It will be more fun for me next time!

Linda

ETA: I went back and read the story about the 81 y/o man! Awesome! Good for him!

christine- no gardening for me. the weather here is cold and dreary:-( . it'll get done at some point. so happy you enjoyed your new kickbox workout!! did you see that anthony has a new workout now available}(

linda- yes, the wrist bands help alot. i don't think i would have been able to do alot of the moves in the beginning without them.

shelly- YAY!! that is awesome news re: your license!! you are on your way. the brown rice salad sounds yummy. where did you find the recipe?

for anyone interested (cathy linda and christine, lol) anthony has a new workout video ready to order!

Sunny...my sister lives the next block over...Enjoy your rest day..

Christine...Alexia has a few products I like. I am having a lot of fun mixing up the workouts and making some fun circuits. Now you have me quite excited about ITR!! I sure hope I get it tomorrow.

Shelly..wow, 12.5 hours straight without food?? I would about die...I have not been target shooting in ages. CONGRATS on the approval for your PA license!!! I will tell Karen you say "Hi"...and we so enjoyed running with you also...:D...Glad you loved the Quorn chicken. Happy 80th to your Dad!! A run and Viper?....yep, Crazy cheetah.

Linda..I am glad you stuck with ITR, I was not too frustrated with her KBX so I am hoping ITR will not be too terribly confusing...

I ended up going 6 miles without much pain. Iced my knee when I got home and then spent some more time de cluttering my workout room...:D..I am getting there. Tommorrow I might have to tackle my taxes...

Sunny - Uh oh! Another new workout? LOL! What is the name of that one? I really loved Providence! I ordered the wrist guards, just now! Thank you for the info!!! :7

Carole - I think maybe my problem was that it has been so long since I have done Amy's kickboxing...and I just wasn't really paying close enough attention. I felt sooo uncoordinated today! x( I hope next time is better! I loved the second half! Good job on the 6 mile run and on decluttering the workout room! I am hanging my head with shame....mine is still a mess! :+

Hey girls!:)

I have been home for a couple hours now but was trying to hold off on posting until the "official" results were posted on my race. Well, they aren't up yet and who knows how long it will take! LOL

It was COLD out this morning! BRRR! I dressed in capris and a long sleeve running top with a sleeveless top under it just in case. I was quite cold until a couple miles into the race. It was mostly my hands and my ears that were *really* cold. I looked at my gloves and ear muffs too but left them behind like a dope! Once I got warmed up it was perfect though so that little bit o' uncomfortable was worth it I guess. ;)

I wore my garmin but didn't start it at the gun since I was farther back in the line and walking at first. I stopped it when it said 10 miles and it timed me at 1 hr 38 mins. This race was chipped so I don't know how the official results will come out but when I crossed the finish line the race clock said 1:39:41!!! The 2 times put me anywhere between a 9:48 and 9:59 average pace for the race. Me likey!:+ :7 :+ :7 I'll post the official time as soon as I find out what it is. :)

I was okay during the race except that my hips got achey. This happens to me quite often with the longer distances though so I've grown to expect and accept it.

When I crossed the finish line the lady there asked if I was okay cause when I stopped running I immediately started to sway and wobble. I didn't feel like I was going to pass out...I just had to get my WALKING legs back but then it started...the CRAMPING! ACK! It wasn't nearly as bad as what I experienced during/after the half but it made me nervous nonetheless. I walked around for quite a while and since they had no gatorade there I was eating a half a bagel and shoved 3 munchkins in my face as well. The carbs/sugar helped. After a good 15-20 minutes I made my way back to the car and stretched for about 10 minutes before heading home. I am DEFINATELY ordering some HEED for my half in May or ATLEAST taking gatorade with me!!!! I should have done that for this one too. Somebody smack me! :p

Well, my munchkin is upstairs complaining his head off so I better go get him. I'll be back in a little while to catch up with personals. I probably have alot since I wasn't around most of the day y'day!

BBIAB!:)
