Summer Fitness Challenge May2-8

Good Morning Everyone,

Figured I could start this thread nice and early before I go to bed. I wish I was just waking up though.x( I will miss part of the b/c of sleep.
Last night we had a snack at work. My idea! I decided to have a good cheat meal before I start this monthes workouts, which I am hoping are going to be good ones. I am also going to try and eat pretty clean.
Todays workout is going to be UB and cardio.If it gets sunny here I will run after lunch.
It feels like I can feel a difference in my clothes but the scale isn't giving me much to go by,just a couple of pounds.
Anyway,I will check back later when I am up drinking my afternoon coffee and starting my day.

Diana, you live in Colorado. How gorgeous! Speaking of everyone is healthy around you. Isn't that a nice feeling. While I was in Washington DC there were literally hundreds of locals jogging everyday. I have never seen so many joggers in my life. The entire city appeared very healthy. I didn't see one overweight person, other than a couple tourists.

Lori, great compliment on your arms! I bet you are looking so good. Unfortunatley I am not looking so great, just about the same. Anyhow...are you feeling better? Was your flu just a 24 hour thing?

I didn't do anything yesterday but clean my house. My kids were extrememly energetic and I couldn't get a moment to workout. I didn't feel like it once dh came home either. So today is running and some type of weight workout.

Good Morning Ladies,

Well I didn't work out this morning. No excuse really, just a little tired from doing Bodymax and MIC this weekend. I plan on doing cardio at the gym later today. Is anyone planning on doing the May rotation? I don't think I will. I need to peruse the rotations and pick one to follow before my surgery on May 26th.

Nurse Lori-Many people hear in Colorado are very in to fitness, unfortunately my husband isn't one of them. We do have a lot of organized activities, running, triathlons, biking, hiking. One more thing, are you really a nurse?

Lori-as always, you amaze me. I used to work nights on the weekends. I would work my regular day job from 8 to 5 m-f, then on Fridays and Saturday I would work from 10pm-6am. It was very hard for me.

Hi Girls,

Im feeling a little more energetic now. I woke up at 12:30 but only b/c I heard someone in the house.Not b/c I woke up on my own but it was time to get up.If I didn't get up then I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight.
I can't beleive what a mess my house is in. Its been wet here so everytime the dogs come in they have dirt on their paws.So if you are walking around in your bare feet (like me!:) ) you can feel the grit on the floor. DH said, you know you need one of those swifters, I said, why don't you just clean the floor when you see that it it dirty? No answer, of course.

Lori- I can't beleive you live on Daytona Beach.Whats spring break like there? Crazy I bet. My cold wasn't a 24 hour thing.Its not in my nose, its my troat. And there is some stuff on my chest that needs to come up.Gross but true.

Diana- I didn't find this weekend of nights to bad but my next night shifts were suppose to be next Mon but the girl who is opposite of me is working them.So I have 2 weeks without night shifts...yipee! Good and bad points though, when I am working nights its always earier to get my workouts in.

Anyway, I am going to go do some cleaning and then start my workout. Poor DH is taking a nap so I am trying to be queit.

Well today I have so far done.. 30 minutes of abs then super sets. I still need to do cardio but haven't decided what yet. But I will soon :)

Diana-I think our weather here in Denver is suppose to be be nice again starting wednesday! So hopefully it will stay decent for awhile. Looking forward to our meeting up.

Lori-I own a housecleaning business. Want me to send a girl over :) You deserve a rest. Night shifts...UGHHH

Terri- iwish you could send a girl over. Wouldn't that be easier! A friend of mine called last night and wanted to know if I still wanted a cleaning lady but I think I can manage it on my own now that I am only workingone job.

Well, I feel lousy. My troat is is so sore and it really hirts to swallow. I am hoping that with a good nights sleep tonight I may wake up feeling better but I have a feeling that it is gonna go to my nose from here.
I feel worse now then I did earlier so I got my workout in but I haven't been eating much. I did all of the GS UB workouts and then I went for an hour long run. The run really took the good out of me.I got home and didn't want any dinner but decided that a McDonalds ice cream would feel nice on my troat but it didn't so I only ate half of that. Oh well, maybe some good will come out of this.

Lori- I hope you feel better soon. It really is NO FUN to be sick and try to work out as well. So at least you got your workout in! Try to take it easy.

Today I did the time savers on Gym Styles chest and triceps, back, shoulders, and biceps.

Tomorrow is running. I am sipping a fat free hot chocolate now. I am so tired and need to be in bed. It's 10:23 at the moment.

Today's eating was pretty good. I had a grilled chicken salad today with light dressing for lunch. For dinner I had a grilled steak salad. I had a tiny portion of tirumisu, and for breakfast I had strawberries and 2 egg whites. Tomorrow I am going to add a whey protein shake.

Good Morning Ladies,
I am feeling a bit better today.Not as miserable and my appetite is back but I still have a sore troat and I am getting the sniffles:-( I never rest when I have the flu. I sweat it out of me. Now if I get into something and I have to cut a workout short, then I will but right now, I feel like a workout shouldn't be a problem.:)
Today I am planning on GS Legs and Low Max. My running partner also asked me if I wanted to go for a run tonight. I'll see how I feel. If I am feeling to tired then I won't bother.
I am starting to feel very sore from yesterdays workout.Its funny b/c when you get up your o.k but as the day goes on, everything starts getting tighter.Even my shoulders are sore and you know how hard it is to feel them.
Other then that, a beautiful day here. I may take the puppy for a little walk later to see if I can wear him out a little.Not even sure if thats possible.

Lori, glad to hear you aren't feeling too ill. :)

I am feeling soreness also from doing upper body yesterday. It hit me when I woke up.

Lori- Hope you feel better today!!

I am good, very busy, but still alive. I am going to do some of my Joyce workouts today for LB, and then some cardio, not sure exactly what yet. Yesterday I did the C&W cardio. That is the funniest music!!

Just got in from a 3 mile jog. Off to the showers, and then I am going for a deep tissue massage and pedicure. Tonight I am going out with friends. Should be a good day. :) Have a great day and I will check in tomorrow.

Hi Ladies,

Well I ended up not doing anything yesterday, an unscheduled rest day. Oh well. Also, no wt. loss this week, actually up .2lbs. Could have been the sweater I was wearing. This morning I did MM and plan on running here shortly. I'll probably have to keep to the streets since the trail is probably all muddy from the rain we've had the past week.

Lorih-hope you start feeling better soon.

Hi girls,
I don't think I checked in after my workout....shame on me.
I made it through 5 out of the 8 Low Max sections, I was just getting to tired from this bug, plus I was hungry.After that I did GS legs.
I also took the dogs for a short walk.It is so nice here today.Everytime I have been outside I have been sweating but its still not warm enough for shorts.It may not be the heat either....may be just me. A friend of mine and I were driving around town this afternoon and she had to turn the air conditioner off, she said I must have a fever b/c she was froze.
Today when I was working out I was sweating buckets. I guess its this flu I have. It was crazy.Everything on me was soaked.
Anyhoo...that was my day.Back to work tomorrow:-(

Good Morning,

How is everyone doing? Another beautiful day here. But I am working so I won't really enjoy it.
My cold as moved from my troat to my nose. Which I have to say, I like alot more. I hate not being able to swallow.Now I just can't breath!
I am hoping to get a run in when I get off of work. I don't get off until 6:30 and I almost feel guilty for going b/c I haven't seen my family. I could wait until I get my 8 yr old settled down before I workout but you know what thats like...I will be settling down by then to.
Do you know I haven't eaten much over the last couple of days and the scale hasn't budged.Prehaps this is the weight I am meant to be at? Who knows! I don't really care about what the scale says as long as I can get my arms and mid-section trimmed down.

Sorry to hear your still feeling under the weather:( I admire your stamina to keep working out while sick. Today I plan to do my usual 30 minutes of abs, then later ME, then cardio intervals on the treadmill. Yesterday I did step blast for cardio from fittv but it was such a short WO that I threw another step workout in the dvdplayer afterwards to make for a longer workout. Happy day to all :)

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday I went for 7 mile run at lunch, it felt great. I was a little sore this morning and contemplated backing out of IMAX 3 which was planned for this morning. But once I got started the time just flew by.

Lorih-have you considered taking a rest day, it might help you recover faster. Anyway, take care and I hope you start feeling better soon.

Good Morning Ladies,

Just a quick note.My bosses are around.
No workout yesterday, little girl had an ear ache and I spent all evening in the emergency room. There was no where else to go.By the time I got home, I had to eat so that meant no workoutx( But tonight.....look out! I am feeling a bit better but my nose is still stuffed up.
Today should go by pretty quickly.We are having a BBQ today for a very loyal customer, here all the way from Dallas,Texas. Wish he had brought the weather with him.
Anyway,tonights workout will be UB and cardio.Wanting to work UB 3x a week so I will hopefully work it again on Sat.

Hi Ladies,

I ended up going for a 5 mile run late yesterday afternoon. The weather was perfect, low 60's and some sun & clouds. This morning I did L&G which I haven't done in a long time. It was a nice change. That was followed by coremax #3. I plan on doing cardio at the gym later or maybe running again. I don't want to overdo it since I'm still getting back into running.

LoriH, so sorry your daughter had an earache. It's so hard when the kids are sick and there isn't anything we can do for them. Also glad to hear you are starting to feel better too.
