Summer Fitness Challenge Jan 31-Feb 6

hi everyone! No workout yet, just not feeling totally well. But, I've been super focused on getting the knack of cleaner eating. I pulled out all my old Oxygen mags to look up stuff, I'm preparing to finish up all unclean food in the next couple of weeks (not allowed to go totally clean until I eat what I have and get rid of it), thinking of buying one of those things you use to measure bodyfat so I can track progress that way in addition to weight. I'm excited about getting back in the game! That Oxygen Abs magazine really got me moving in terms of cleaning up my eating! And its true, my sugar cravings are definitely lower...

Lorihart, I read your other post - don't you get the weirdest feeling when things work out like that? Its good but unnerving at the same time!
 
Its me again! I just finished a 50 min run.I am so glad I did it b/c I think i would have just snacked on candy while I was lying around.
When I was at work today I had TWO servings of ice cream.I hope they don't order that flavoer anymore b/c I love it.It has swirls of peanut butter in it.Its awesome.Other then that I only had my lunch.No breakfast or dinner:eek: I don't normally do that though.
FFD-I feel really weird about this b/c they were an awesome company to work for.They were very "its your call".You had to do alot to get into trouble.If you thought a passenger was intitled to something, they would let you do it.It was great.I am going to miss working there.But I can see most of the girls I worked with anytime.I just have to find the time.

Good Morning Everyone,
Is everyone excited about the new series!!!?????:) :) I am starting to now.By next week this time, we should have them.And even tried a couple!I haven't been thinking about it a whole lot b/c I don't like waiting for things.So if I don't think about it, I don't get impatient!:)
I have bit of a headache today BUT I am working out anyway. Then I have to do to the dentist today:-( I have always hated going but I am getting better.I was having alot of dreams about my teeth falling out..etc....since I have finally made my appts to get some work done, the dreams have stopped.Obviously, I was dreaming this stuff b/c it was on my mind alot.

Hi Everyone.....HSAT is on tap for me today. My hope is to do the cardio and leg work, twice, but if I do it, I don't know!!!!

Hi Ladies,

I took a vacation day today since my kids have the day off from school. Slept in until 7:45 which was very nice. I did Supersets lower body blast followed by Cardio and Weights. I did manage to get somewhat of a run in yesterday afternoon. It started out great until I reached this open space trail that ended up being very muddy-so I ended up walking through much of that part of it. Was able to run the last portion after getting out of the mud. Not my best running day, but it was definitely better than nothing at all.

I have increased my protein and have noticed that I am not as hungry as usual and am still able to keep in my points range. If nothing else, my body feels much tighter and firmer even if it is not reflected on the scale.

I will workout tomorrow! I will choose something a bit easier than usual (maybe MIC - hust kidding!). I'm so excited to get back to it - i've really missed it! What do you guys think I should do????

I was going to say good morning.Probably b/c I am still in my p.j's and it is almost 2!:) I will change into some workout clothes in a bit.
Well, I guess by next week this time we will have the HC series in our hands!:7 We will be exchanging thoughts on all of the workouts.Or atleast the ones we have tried.
FFD-Are you going to keep yours and try them next year? I know how long you keep workouts before you use them.For some reason I think you may try these sooner!
I think I am going to run on my treadmill today.I am trying to get some carbs in me and go for distance.I have nothing else to do today.I have to work tonight.I wasn't suppose to but I got called in.It is only for a couple of hours so I am thinking about going out for a drink after to whine down.We will see

Afternoon ladies! Lori, I too am still in my Pjs this afternoon, although I have done 6 loads of laundry and baked a cake for tonight ( a little dinner party). I plan to eat some of the cake - its super yummy! And I don't feel too bad about it. I am hoping to exercise at around 5:00 - maybe StepFit since I've had it for awhile and haven't tried it yet (Lori, I really am bad about that aren't I? Only ones left that meet this criteria are HSTA, the PS series, and the Terminator DVD - OMG! More than I thought!).

I'm really going to try once I get back into routine to continue doing rotations and change eating. I am going back to eating smaller meals more frequently, and I am doing great water wise these days. I plan to eat oatmeal and egg whites for bf most days (this really does stick with you), salad with salmon or tuna for lunch, fruit, veggies, and lowfat cheese for small meals, and veggies, chicken, sweet potato later on. I'm trying to limit carb sources to before and after workouts, with any craved simple carbs after workout (this increases insulin which shuffles needed energy and nutrients into muscles). I feel like I have a real plan! Tonight I am going to enjoy myself - wine, Indian food, cake. It will be delicious, but I am not going to overdo it (well, this is the sober me talking - we'll see later.)

Any feedback about the plan?
 
Just finished my run.I ran for 7 miles.I tried watching a movie while running but for some reason the t.v will only go so loud in the workout room.Its fine if I want to watch t.v but not for VHS or DVD's.Strange.
I went to the dentist yesterday and he did a filling.The cavity was really deep so he had to really route at it.What happens is the decay was really deep,if he gets most of it out, then the human body usually kills the rest.If not I go back.I am telling you, that off and on this tooth is giving me TROUBLE! I had to take two pain killers last night. I am just hoping that it only hurts b/c it was picked at so much yesterday and maybe the nerves are "set off".I am hoping they will calm back down.
FFD-Your meal tonight sounds really yummy.I don't know what we are having but for some reason I hate cooking on Sat night.
Anyway,I am going to get in the shower.

Hi Everyone,

I must of been the only up early today. I did KPC at 7am and then went to my youngest son's basketball game. It is such fun to watch the kids play. His team is undeafeted so far.

I ordered the HC series toward the end of the month of presales (July), so I don't think my will be shipping for a little while yet. I will patiently be reading everyone's reviews before mine arrive.

Hi ladies -

Back from my dinner, and it was delicious. The food was great, several glasses of wine, cake - Yummy! But, in a way, glad its behind me so I can get back on track. Am I insane?

Did StepMax for the first time tonight. Interesting! It was definitely not too hard compared to Cathe's others, and the "woo hoo" in her earlier vids is really loud. I definitely really appreciate Cathe's newer stuff. But this one is hilarious for the intro stuff which shows previews of other vids of hers that are REALLY EARLY - very 80's!!!

was planning to do strength tomorrow, but have MIC on the brain - may do hi lo portion then ME or something. We'll see. Going to check my package tracking - my HC hasn't shipped yet I don't think...
 
Lori, sorry about your tooth! I have to get myself to the dentist for a cleaning. I go every 6 months like clockwork, but I haven't been in about a year. I have to make an appt. tomorrow if it kills me.

FFD, your dinner party sounds wonderful. Indonesian food, yum. You are so cultured. :)

Well, my family and I just got over the worst intestinal flu ever. My 4 year old got it first, then my 22 month old, them me and my husband. Yesterday I lied on the couch totally incapicitated for the enitre day. Bless my kids, they were so good, mostly played all day next to me. My husband went to work like a fool. When he got home, I asked him how it went. He said he worked for about 2 hours and slept in the car the rest of the time. The good thing is it only lasted a little over 24 hours.

The silver lining is I lost a couple pounds, water yes, but still a little motivation when I step on the scale.

Lori- I am glad you are feeling better.Thank God I never get sick very much.I have had one sick day in the last 7 yrs.Unless it was self inflicted!:) Then I have had lots of those.
FFD-I was looking through some of Cathes older stuff yesterday and it cracked me up.I clicked on Step in Motion 1 and she was super energetic.I am glad she is not like that either now.I like her just the way she has.Time changes everything so much.She looks alot thinner in the oldest workout.I guess that was back when all you did was cardio and not much weights.
Is anyone taking their measurments this week? I need a measuring tape, I have no idea what my measurments are.I know my hips are 36",my chest is 34" and my wasit is around 28".
DH is already talking about what he is doing next weekend.In the back of my mind, I was thinking thats o.k,I am hoping to have 11 new dvd's that need some trying out.:)

That's a great idea to take measurements. I have a hard time facing up to the feedback of the scale or tape measure (which is probably why my progress is nil!!!!!). And watching Cathe's older stuff makes me so glad about the changes - her videos now are so great...

DId ME today and felt great - eating was TERRIBLE (despite my hoighty toighty plans of yesterday). Had leftover cake and couldn't resist, and BF ordered pizza tonight for Superbowl. Ho hum. Still trying to get back on this horse. I was doing so well pre illness too...

Tomorrow morning is Step Blast. I'm going to repeat January rotation until HC arrives. Mine hasn't even been shipped yet.
 
Hi Ladies,

Spent this evening working on our tax return. Decided on turbotax again since it really speeds things up for me.

Anyway-this morning I did PP lower body 3 sets and Rhythmic Step. This was supposed to be a rest day (following Aug. Rotation), but I usually take my day off during the week. I have no excuses to not workout on the weekend. And I tend to use the weekend for double workouts or longer ones like bodymax.

Glad your feeling better Lori. I don't get sick very often either. Drink plenty of fluids and make sure your body is ready before attempting a workout.

HI Gals,
I think some of us got sucked into the superbowl eating frenzy! I wanted to go out last night after work and have a drink but by the time we got off it was 3 in the morning and everything was closing:-( So tonight DH is gone out to watch the SuperBowl and he wanted me to come down and have a drink.So,I did.And I didn't workout today either!:eek: I had two drinks and a little bit of Pub food.
I am gonna to head to bed now.I have to work all day tomorrow but I REALLY want to get a workout in tomorrow,
