Summer Fitness Challenge Jan 16-23

Nope, the job isn't at another salon.It is at a refueling stop for private jets.I am pretty much a Customer Service Agent.
I will run into some celebrites but I think it is mainly rich people with lots-o-money.

Sorry that I am so late. I should have posted this on Monday, which is the day of the week that I chose to post weekly.

Anyway, this is the summary of my first week (from the 10th to the 16th of January):

Workouts:
S&H (entire series)
1 tae bo basic
1 cardio section of another video I have

Water intake:
Excellent from Monday to Friday
Poor in the weekend

Vitamins:
Same thing: Took them from Monday through Friday, didn't during the weekend

Diet:
Clean only three days out of seven. The rest of the days, well...pretty "dirty"

hello again everyone!

I don't want to work, so I'm playing around on the Cathe forums. I think this January rotation is making me an addict! I decided today would be my break day, and I miss my workout! (Cross your fingers I can keep this up!!!)

Lorihart, I know what you mean about losing motivation when following a plan. But its so hard to imagine reaching a goal without a plan, isn't it? That is one thing I'm liking about the core. Something about that restriction thing always gets me in the end. Its like I have a rebellious side, and as soon as restriction is tossed in there as part of the plan, I want exactly what I'm not supposed to have!

Hi Everyone,
I had to retrevie us from pg 2 again! What happened to all the check ins we had at the beginning of the year? Now I think we are just back to the orignal 4.
I finally weighed myself today b/c I had been avoiding the scale.And it wasn't that bad.I only gained between 1.5-2 lbs but it is making such a difference in my clothes.When we get older, does everything go right to the hips and belly? Im short waisted so there is really no where for it to go.I could just figure out away to stretch myself a couple of more inches:) Im surprised scientist haven't figured out a way to make people taller yet...and when they do, I WON"T be the first in line!:eek:
After yesterdays post of wondering about cutting carbs after lunch, I have decided to use the whole faithful route and something more realistic.Counting cals and fat grams.I gained 15 lbs when I met DH 7 yrs ago and thats how I lost it.Long story short, I am going to take the healthy approach (which is sort of like counting points for you guys) I can have a treat if I want it,I just add it in there.How many calories do you guys think you are eating?
Enough about diet, I am not sure what workout I am going to do today.A friend of mine wants to come over and lift weights with me tomorrow so I won't be doing that today, it maybe just cardio today or some circuits with light weights.

Good Morning Ladies.....Yes, Lori, I think we are back to the original 4. That is a shame, I like to read everyone else's posts!!! Oh well, maybe they are too busy. Anywho, I did my workout yesterday, stayed on my Points, and plan to do the same today. I am going to do PUB, and my treadmill routine. I am trying to do that twice a week.

I wish everyday for a Hardcore update...or the ANNOUNCEMENT!!! I can not wait!!! I hope by the time I finish my lower body rotation I am doing now, and I am 1/2 way thru week 3, they will be here!!

Hi Ladies,

I'm still here. Had some family issues to deal with-still dealing with them. My stepmom attemted suicide with an overdose of several prescription medications and over 30 aspirins. I'll probably never understand this.

I did Supersets yesterday-what a nice change of pace. That's what's so great about rotations-you get to pull out some of the workouts that you may not be using on a regular basis. This morning I did cardio kicks-what fun!

I'm thinking of taking a break from WW since I haven't really lost anything in 10 to 12 weeks. Just the same 2 or 3 pounds moving up and down. It's too expensive if I'm not getting results. I can only workout 2 times a day for so long. I chart my food on fitday and it looks like I'm eating between 1,200 and 1,400 calories per day. My breakdown is about 45 carbs/45 protein, and 10 fat. I did anywhere from 76oz water to 128oz water each day.

Diana- Do you think you are eating too little??? Do you eat your activity points?? I would up it for a week or so, and see what happens. I eat all my activity points and Flex points.

I just had to tell you I did PUB and killed myself today. The biceps and chest, I can not match Cathe on. Everything else is fine, the pullovers, and the tricep pull ups or whatever, I can go higher. Today, I was going to match her. The chest at 20, I missed one rep on the bench presses. Oh my word, that was so hard. Usually I only go to 15's. But, I did it. The biceps, I got all the reps, but on the 15's, once I put them down and picked them back up again. My UB is fried. I mean fried. I have to go take a shower, I don't know how I am going to shampoo my hair. Even the shoulders really killed me today. Some days they are just tougher than others, and today was it, and I decided to go all out!! I am glad I did though.

You sound like you are kicking butt!! I'm impressed with your PUB - I am still cowering lower than Cathe on most things. You have inspired me to challenge myself.

I am still hanging in there with January rotation - did Circuit Max tonight, will do Step Blast tomorrow, but ladies, my eating has been TERRIBLE! I don't know what happened! I was doing awesome, and I don't know, I must be stressed or something, but I am eating lots at night! I think I may not be eating enough earlier in the day, and with the higher intensity of working out, my body must be telling me something. I have GOT to get back on track!!! HELP!@!!!!
 
Good Morning Ladies,
I am feeling better today.The scale is starting to go back down.:) Im only 1 lb heavier now.
I am not sure what workout I will be doing today.I don't really need to do weights but my running partner wants to come over and workout.I sort of feel like I should workout with her BUT I should also be keeping an eye on her form and helping her out.This is her first time working out with weights.I think she will be sore tomorrow.}( It will look good on her!
I am having my usually chest problems again.I get like this every once in a while.I guess I workout to hard and I strain somthing in my chest cavaity and makes it hard to take deep breaths or to lie down.Thats another reason why I don't want to workout.

Hi Diane, please don't get discouraged, however unless you need a structured eating plan, I would give up the expensive one.....
I believe what your doing as far as the calories and exercise are great, I also eat between 1200 and 1400 calories a day depending on the day and I drink 60 or more ozs of water a day.....
I know your not a beginner, but when I first started 2 yrs ago I didn't see any results for a month, then my size 8's started to barely fit again.

The weather is so nice here-in the 60's, that a run this afternoon sounds really good to me.

Thanks for the encouraging words Lori and Rhonda. It's not that I'm giving up, just taking a break for a couple weeks. I try not to eat my activity points and usually use about 10-15 flex points each week. After looking at the oxygen-abs mag, they recommend more protein that what I normally eat. I'll try that for a couple weeks.

My company is having its annual party tomorrow night. It is at a fancy hotel, my husband and I have found sitters for the kids and are spending the night. It will be such a treat for us.

Where has everyone been? Any of you getting affected by this blizzard?

Things here in Georgia are good. Did cardio kicks yesterday - every time I do this one, I underestimate how taxing it it! Today is Body Max, which I have not done in full in a LONG time. Only one more week of January rotation!

I have to say, for any of you who;ve never tried a rotation, I highly recommend it. This was my first, and I have now worked out 6 times a week for the past 3 weeks (something I always told myself was not possible), and my pants are looser. I can tell a difference all over, everythings tighter and a bit smaller. And it was fun! You get to use so many different videos! And I wasn't following strictly (mixed up the tapes to fit my schedule trying to loosely follow Cathe's structure) and my eating was certainly not great. Now I'm thinking, if I can see these results with somewhat crappy eating, what would happen if I really ate clean? Maybe February will tell the tale!

I WILL weigh this week, no longer going to avoid this important feedback...
 
Im still here.I have been low-key the last couple of days.Probably b/c I haven't worked out much.I did UB on Fri and nothing yesterday.I did something to my chest a couple of days ago(it happens atleast once a year).From a Dr's point of view,my lunges become inflamed and are touching my rib cage.Sounds gross,hey? The worst is lying down.
Anyway,I think I was running to "hard" maybe.Doing to many interval runs.Today I am going to do something though b/c it feels alot better and I need to get moving.

My eating the last 2 days has been horrid. Tomorrow I will be back on track. I am feeling very PMS'y, terrible. Chicago was fun as always. I am watching football all day. I love football!!!!

Hello Again,
Had a good workout. I ran for 50 min.Tried to keep it simple.Then I did ME with a friend.She did good but she needs to improve on her form which will happen in time.
Just before I got on my treadmill,I grabbed the water bottle by the top,the top stayed in my hand,while the bottle went on the floor and all over my treadmillx( I was so mad! I thought I ruined my treadmill.It was humming and wouldn't shut off and then it went crazy.It started going 12 miles an hour,while it was shut off.I had to unplug it and try again,samething,then I took my hairdryer and dried it out a bit and left it for a while.When I went back it was alot better but it still goes faster then it use to.When I put the knob right in the middle(mind don't have buttons) it normally does 5 miles but now it is up to 6.5 miles in the same spot.Prehaps it was broke before and I just fixed it!:) Doubt that.I hope its alright.I depend on it so much!
I started keeping track of my cals and workouts today.Got my little black book to write everything down in.Hopefully I will stick to it.

Ladies, I have to ask. What caloric range are you shooting for? I was doing 1100 with WW Flex, but with the way my weight stalled, I decided it was too low maybe, especially if I'm working out 6 days a week. I have no idea. 1500? 1800? I just don't think I can survive on 1100o and do Cathe! At least, not well...
