Good Morning Ladies,
And welcome to another week....:) :)
Today I have commited myself to eating right:) I am going to follow the BFL eating plan.First thing I had to do today was eat.I think this plan is going to go very well!
I didn't get up until 10:30 so if I had to wait until after I worked out then I wouldn't get my first meal in until 12.And I want to start it right.
I just finished a shake,then I am going to run.
My first problem is dinner tonight at my in-laws.She will have dessert and I will have to pass it up.But I will be o.k, they will just look at me a little strange.They will get over it.
I have been doing the Jan Rotation so I may have to shake it up a little.I want to follow the BFL workout schedule pretty closely as well so I may have to move some things around.
Anyway,thats about it for me.I will check back later,

Hi all!

Lori, I was thinking of doing BFL too! I hate checking in with WW, and their Core plan seems fairly similar to BFL. What will you do about working out? I have been doing great at working out in the morning, but all of Cathe's workouts are longer than his 20 minutes. That has always been the sticky point for me - I'd love to know how you're planning around it!

Can I do MIC today? Can I can I? I did Imax and CTX UB (for the first time, loved it!) yesterday. I WANT to do MIC, but this is definitely a dreaded favorite! Encourage me people!!!
 
FFD-I am not go to stick with it "by the book" but I am going to alternate weights,cardio and the eating small meals a day.
My cardios will be longer then 20 min.They will probably consist of step and running b/c I am not a big kick boxing fan.I am going to try cardio 4 times a week.I think my body is use to working out more then that so I want to shake it up a little.One day a week I will be off, probably Sat or Sun.And one day I will do weights and cardio.
I am not going to do the Pyramids as he discribes in his books.Instead I will work UB one day and then LB 2 days later. I will be using my Cathe workouts for that.I will also try to go really heavy on some of the moves.
I am going to try my nest to eat 5-6 meals a day and this all depends on what time I get up.Some days I may have to eat 7!:)
This is what I plan on doing:
Sun-Cardio
Mon-UB
Tues-Cardio
Wed-LB
Thurs-CArdio
Fri-UB and Cardio
Sat-Off and eat a cheat meal.
Then the following week I will work LB twice and UB once.

I am going to follow the BFL eating though.
If you want to do shorter cardios,why don't you try CTX series OR 1/2 of the Imax's. I think I will be running most of the time.
Anyway,I just finished a 70 min run.Now I have to go get groceries

Thanks for that response! That seems like a great way to modify the program! I guess I don't want to go shorter because I love Cathe's workouts so much! I get such a rush from doing the whole thing! And if I've managed to work myself up to an hour or more of Cathe 6 days a week, doing only 20 minutes seems like it would set me back.

So, I might do a variation on what you're trying. Follow Cathe rotations (now that I've made it through 2 weeks of my first official rotation, I have to say i think I'll try following rotations all the time. I never thought I could workout that much, or do MIC and IMAX back to back, but this rotation is proving me wrong, which only makes me more advanced). So, follow rotations and do his eating plan. I hate eating that frequently, but I'll give it a try.

I did MIC today by the way and kicked butt! You CAN do Imax and MIC in a weekend! (Of course, I did most of both on 6 inches...).
 
Hi Ladies,

Today was bodymax for me. I have to rearrange this week since I cannot get up early enough to complete bodymax on a workday.
I followed the bfl wt schedule several years ago, but kept with my 5 or 6 hours of cardio each week.

Hi everyone!

I have stuck with WW for the week, although I did eat a little extra yesterday. I weighed today and had lost 1/2 lb. for the week. I wish it had been more, but considering I had such a huge loss last week, I was happy with it. I have done Cathe everyday and am getting ready to do two of hers in a few minutes. I can't exercise tomorrow and it's not my normal off day, so I thought I'd double up. :) One thing I was excited about. I had a list of my measurements that I took about a year ago...during one of my many, I'm going to lose this weight episodes. Weighing the exact same as I did today, I was an inch bigger in my waist and hips last year than I am today, so the exercising is definitely working.

FYI, I watched the Today show today and they had someone on talking about weight loss myths. One of them was that your metabolism speeds up, the more muscle you have. I have always thought this and according to the ladies they had on there, it is true...but you only burn about 15 calories per day more due the the added muscle. Another one I was surprised about was that it is a myth that it will help you lose weight faster if you don't eat anything after 7pm. They said it doesn't matter what time you eat...that a calorie is a calorie whatever time of day it is. Anyway, thought ya'll might find these interesting.

HI guys! What is this challenge all about? I use to be on Cathe boards all the time but had a 2nd busy and have fallen off the Cathe board wagon - ha ha

LoriHart - funny that I see you are starting BFL today???? I just started today too! I had great results on my last challenge right before I got preggo! I am hoping to lose this butt once and for all on this one!

I would love to have some pals to go thru the next 12 wks with!

My new motto for this challenge is "No More FAT SUMMERS!" My goal is to not be as fat this summer and to be able to wear a swim suit, wear shorts w/out feel embarrassed!
 
Fitnut- Where have you been? LAst I heard you were trying the South Beach diet. How did that go? Whats new? You haven't been preggo lately again,have you?

Hello Everyone,
Today is cleaning day;( I be happy when I have it done.I really have to get myself one of those cleaning ladies:)
Yesterday went pretty good.I didn't realize how addicted I am to sugar until mid-afternoon so I had to have a tiny piece of choc.I don't know what would have happened if I didn't.I would have bit the heads off of everyone I saw.
Today is UB for me and I may do a 30 min run,even though I said I wasn't.I am not sure what UB workout I will be doing.

Hi everyone- LeeAnne, I am still doing WW's, and I am going to keep doing WW's. I did BFL many times, and I can do way better on WW's than on BFL. If I want a treat during the week, I can have it. I went way too hog wild on my free day, too. I finally got on the scale today after two weeks of counting my points, and I lost 6 lbs. I was VERY happy!!!! I am going to keep weighing myself every 2 weeks. That seems to work good for me. I have been doing the Aug. 2004 rotation, and I have completed two weeks now. This week she has 3 heavy LB workouts, and only one UB workout, so today instead of doing L&G's, I am going to do Power Hour so I get a good total body workout, and I get arms in twice this week instead of once. I will also do my wonderful treadmill workout. I run at 5.5 mph, and a 4% incline for 5 mins., then I walk at 4 mph, at a 8% incline for 5 mins. Actually, the walking is harder for me than the running!!!!!

Congrats on the weight loss, LoriSax!!! I'm glad Flex is working for you. I am still doing Core - thought about going full BFL but decided to give Core a chance before cancelling WW. I'd be interested to hear your experience with BFL. I think ultimately, we're all experimenting til we find what works for us!

Tonight, I have Rhythmic Step from January rotation. For those of you who do rotations, is it your sense that you have to do them in Cathe's order, or can you move things around a bit?
 
Finally got my workout in! I was planning on waiting for tonight to do it and then I almost talked myself out of it.Then I remembered that I have to work in the morning so I have to get in the shower and do my hair anyway.It takes me forever to do my hair in the morning b/c it is curly and had to dry on its own.There is no way I am getting up at 5 in the morning and facing it.
I just finished PUB and a 40 min run.Does anyone elses arms get super tired when doing those wood chops on the ball?

Morning ladies!

I am on a roll. I have worked out for the past 4 days straight, and even did 2 workouts on Saturday! Go me! Will probably take tomorrow off but might try to see how far I can go. I did Rhythmic Step last night (it was great, got home from a slightly stressful day and felt like the only thing I wanted to do was Cathe! I love it when that happens!) and did Power Hour this morning to replace SS in January rotation week 3. Eating is good too. I'll brave the scale for the first time in 3 weeks. Will check in later! Hi Ladies.....How are you?? I hope good.

LoriHart- My arms don't get tired on the woodchops, not that I can remember. But I do know that, no UB workout gets me like PUB.

FFD- I am sure you will do wonderfully on the scale. It will be better than you think. i am rooting for you.

Today I am doing Cardio Kicks. I have not done that workout in probably a year, but it is on my rotation for today. My UB is pleasantly sore today after PH yesterday. I am really liking this rotation. Usually after week 2, I quit and go on to something else. I am not good with following rotations, but this might be the first one I complete!!!

Food has been good. Have a good day everyone, it is so COLD here!!!!

It can't possibly be any colder there,can it? It is freezing here.
Yesterday we had a snowstorm and last night it turned into rain.When I got up to go to work,the streets were like skating rings.On my way home I almost got into one accident and then I ran into a snow bank.My drive way is glass and the plow went by and as big chunks of snow left in my driveway.Then my next door neighbour will park at the end of his drive way and then I can't get in around him.
I am planing on working out tonight.DH is gone out of town so I will workout when my daughter goes to bed.

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday I did KPC and today was 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer and 20 minutes on the bike. Tomorrow will be supersets for me. By the way, I just picked up the Oxygen ABS magazine. It is full of great information on different ab exercises, what you need to eat to make your abs show through, best exercises for fat loss. It even has a sample 7 day menu.

FFD-I can't really remember my results from bfl. I was much lighter then due to running almost everyday. I can't run anymore and my weight has been suffering ever since. Running was the only thing that has been able to keep my wt where it belongs. I workout 2 times a day on 4 out of 6 days-to no avail. And of course you can change your rotations to meet your needs. As I mentioned before, I did Bodymax on Sunday. Cathe has 2 days of cardio after bodymax and the supersets. That's why I'm doing supersets tomorrow.

Lee Anne-I'm still following WW, on the flex plan. However I have been at a plateau the last 10 weeks and am thinking of trying something else. I have lost weight with WW in the past and believe it can work, just not for me right now. Maybe I just need a break for a while. I'm thinking of getting a trainer and seeing how that goes.

Morning ladies!

I totally forgot to weigh first thing this morning! That's how out of practice I am! Thanks for the support, LoriSax, we'll see how it goes next Wednesday! Diana, I totally agree with you, when I was running, I couldn't believe how much it helped with weight! Unfortunately, I kind of hate it, and i think its killer on the joints in a way that even high impact aerobics isn't. I'm so hopeful some of these rotations will do the trick!

Eating so-so - I'm definitely having to remind myself of my goals more often these days. Feeling stressed with fiancee's interview and the prospect of moving to Vermont, even though it sounds like a wonderful state. I just have such a good gig where I am, andyou can't beat Georgia for winter weather! (Although its cold as hell here right now!)

FFD-I don't want to weigh myself today so that is the difference between you and me.I haven't been good at all.So much for following BFL.I guess I have tried to do it so many times that my motivation is shot.I never get motivavted anymore.Prehaps I need to work at a gym and drink protein shakes all day long:)
On top of not eating well.I didn't workout yesterday:-( So I will make up for it today.AND my dress pants were tight yesterday.Its only 3 lbs I have gained but it makes such a difference.
I don't know what my plans are for getting to my goals.Obviously it has to be something realistic.I've thought about cutting carbs out after a certain hour but I wonder how long I can keep that up for.Or if I can even do it for one day!
I admire people with will power.A so-called friend of mine as enough for the whole town.If she has her sights set on something she is going to get there and thats all there is to it.Mind you,she is under weight (never use to be) so there may be more issues then just weight loss.
Anyway...its just me whining again.:) :)
But I am going to get a awesome workout in today.Eat a good breakfast/lunch. I am going to run today and (maybe)PLB.

Hi Everyone!!!!! That is the thing I most appreciate about WW's, you can have whatever you want, on whatever day you want, as long as it fits in your points for the day. Alot of time at night, I might have a bowl of ice cream, or a Pria bar during the day for 2 pts., so satisfy my chocolate craving. The rest of my day is pretty healthy eating. Maybe you should check it out Lori Hart???

Lori hart- What new job did you get?? Wasn't it at a new salon??

Diana- I bought that Oxygen magazine too. It was a good read, but the one thing that bothered me was the article on like 50 tips to get your abs to show thru, they said not to eat artificial sweetners. They said they go to your waistline, and make you crave sugar more. I use probably 10 packs of Sweet N Low a day, plus I drink SF Kool aid w/ Splenda in it. I do drink plain water also, at least 30 ozs. of plain water a day, but the rest is caffiene free tea, or SF Kool Aid, grape. I don't know why it bugs me, but it does. I have thought about it many times since I read it. But my eating is pretty healthy, I can not eat perfect. I am not a fitness model, so I guess I will enjoy my Sweet N Low.

Today I am doing L&G's, then Advanced Cardio from the Firm. That one compares to Cathe. It is tough!!!
