Summer Firtness Challenge April 18-25

I just ran 3 miles. It's starting to get really warm here, so I need to run early morning or evening. It takes a lot out of you when it's so hot.

I am off to do GS upper body.

I think a lot of us are sleep deprived today. :)

I am going to bed early tonight. :)

Blah,blah,blah....you guys are your hot baths, go to bed early, watch a movie....I don't like you guys right now! Only b/c you have the option to go to sleep and you can do it. I am sleep deprived b/c of work;( Nah...Im just joking...Im not really mad at you. Im mad at my Dh b/c he doesn't make enough for me to stay home and workout all day:) :)
Anyway, now that I have finished my little tantrum, I did the Interval/Circuit workout from HC Extreme and I did 1/2 of GS Legs. I am going to save the floor work for Saturdays workout.
I am going to get in the shower now, run to wal-mart, maybe pick up subway and try to get a quick nap before I go to work. I am so glad this is my last ngith shift until next weekend.
I work alot of nights b/c I am the new girl. Its not always nice being the new girl!

Hi Ladies,

I am just too tired and not motivated to work out today. I had a meeting right after work and didn't get home 'til 8:15 last night. This morning I even got up, put on my workout clothes and head downstairs, when suddenly I see it is already 6:50am. There is no way I have time to workout now. It was so disappointing. Then at lunch, I just didn't feel like going to the gym. Must just be one of those days.

Lorih-I am your typical pear shape, and for me-I see better results doing leg wts 4-6 times per week as per the freestyle training. I have lost a 1/2" in each thigh, and have many more to go. I'm sure losing 20lbs would go a long way in helping also:)

Robyn-so glad to hear your son is doing better. Just do what can and build from there.

Maybe tomorrow will be a better workout day for me. I am going to be early tonight.

Hi Gals,

Diana- Is that your goal to lose 20 lbs? I guess it seems so far away,hey? 5-10 lbs seems far away to be. I am 5'4" and am 130 lbs but people think I am alot lighter then that. My bone structure is a medium build.One of my co-workers last night said something about not being scared of me b/c I was only 100 lbs! I wish...na, that would be to skinny.

I am so sleepy tonight. I don't know what I am going to do with that puppy tomorrow morning when I crawl in bed. When DH is home he always takes the puppy with him when he leaves the house but DH is gone away for work.
We were debating going away for the weekend but I would be driving to where he is with his family and 2 small kids, I think the drive will be very long so I think I will stay home and enjoy my weekend off.Maybe cook a nice meal (he as been away so he is tired of takeout), catch up on some sleep and just relax.

Anyway, I will check back later, I think I may have a busy night.

Welcome Terri. The Summer fitness challenge is a place where a group of us post to encourage one another on our goals. Everybody has different goals, some of us need to drop pounds, others don't. Some people want to add strength and definition.

We agreed that we would post pictures of ourselves on June 1 in workout wear. Mine might be really scary. :)

Anyway, welcome! If you are interested what are your goals? What Cathe tapes do you do?

Yesterday I ran 3 miles. I never did upper body, too lazy, and too tired. :( I have been eating a lot of carbs the last couple days. I seem to be very hungry all the time. Today is IMAX3 and upper body.

I am trying to get myself motivated to start BFL eating plan. It seems like I stuff things in my mouth without really thinking about it. This morning I already had a bite of my kids sugary oatmeal, and orange, and slice of cheese. Then I said, STOP, you are supposed to be doing BFL. :) I was looking through my BFL book last night and it is very reasonable. I mean who can't be happy if you can have potatoes and pasta, fruits, veggies, meat, and a free day!! I am not so sure about all of those protein shakes, I think one a day is fine. I need to look back and see how many grams of protein he reccommends for each of those shakes. It seems excessive.

I will stop talking now!! :)

Hi Ladies,

Well it happened again this morning-no workout. I did sleep very well last night though, just too lazy to get up and do something. I plan on doing MM tonight, and if I can get out of here pretty soon, I will either run or go to the gym for some cardio.

Lori-I would be ever so happy if I weighed in the 130's. I am also 5'4 but have a large frame, wear a size 10 and have most of my adult life. Even in High School being a competitive gymnast I wore a 9 or 11. After having kids it became a 10. Most people think I weigh less than I really do, but according to ww my minimum wt is 117. That's never gonna happen.

Hi Lori,

Thanks for the nice welcome! So a picture in our workout gear...What if we workout naked? (just kidding) I do that since I live alone but I own workout clothes. :) I would like tp join in on this. It is always nice to have people motivating you! lori my goals are to have better muscle definition in my legs and hips. The ret of me I am happy with. I am a size six but want to be a 4. Seems like the extra on my hips isnt budging!

Looks like we are neighbors. I live in Denver. I have not yet purchased MM but am curious to how different it is from ME. I like ME a lot but want something a bit more challenging. I don't want to purchase anymore dvd's until they do previews on the site. I bought coremax and to be honset I like ab hits better and it seems more challenging. Also I want to wish you luck on your workouts. I have days were I have to force myself to do it and others where I can't wait to get going. Comin here always motivates me when i see what everyone else is doing. I am very fit but as you know we always strive for better.

Welcome new girlies!
Can tou beleive I am just checking in for the first time today? Thats not like me!
I had a very productive day,with little sleep involved. Actually, I didn't do much only pay bills. But that feels like work!
When I got off of work my mom was here (she stayed alnight with the dogs and my daugther) and she was going to the mall so I thought I should spend sometime with her. We did a little shopping. I bought 3 pairs of pants and a shirt. I am hoping the sizing changed in that store. I think it as b/c they use to carry a size 3 and now the smallest they make is a 5. 5's are normally to big(in this store) but today they fit fine.Then I went to another store,more teenagerish (but I am only 26!) and I bought 28's there and could have bought a 27.I figured by the time they were washed they would shrink.
Then I went to shopping at furniture stores with Dh, thought about taking a nap on the beds but decided it wasn't a good idea, so I bought a new coffee table set instead.
Then I came home and crawled into bed for 3 hours. I am hoping I will sleep tonight.

Lori- I have been eating everything in sight today. I have been so thrown off with no sleep.Then my mom wanted to get something to eat with her tea so I bought a cake and some cookies. The cake was some sort of coffee cake with crumbled sugar/cinnamon/butter mixture...and what did I do? Picked the chunks off. I tought about throwing it out b/c there is no way I am going to offer it to anyone. I have to finish reading the Abs Diet but I could be very interested in following BFL with you. BFL and Abs are VERY similar.

Terri- Naked? Your bobbies don't bounce up and hit you in the face?:eek: Not that I have that problem either.:) I think we may need to lose the "unwanted" in the same places.

Diana- I know we are never happy with our weight. I should n't say never but when i was at a good goal I was aiming for something else.Now i wish I were 123 lbs again, or even 118 my lowest.If I were 150, Iwould be dieing to be 130 again.Must be just human nature!

Anyway, I should go. No workout to report. I am going to get up early tomorrow and run and maybe do CTX UB , if not, I am doing it tomorrow night.

I forced myself to do a 40 minute interval workout on the elliptical trainer at lunch today. I did feel much better when it was done.

Terry-I live in Broomfield. Do you run? I'm starting to get back into running after a few years off. It would be great to have a running partner. I plan on running the Bolder Boulder, pretty much ran it for the last 10 yrs or so. Oh-welcome to our challenge.

Lori-the whole weight game is very frustrating to me. If I wasn't overweight it wouldn't be a problem! I have struggled with my weight most of my life, although I am very active. Genes I guess.

Good Morning Challengers!
How is everyone? I am finally starting to come to life. I was so sleeppppppyyyyyyy. I didn't want to budge out of bed. I had a good 9 hours though but I am pretty sure that I didn't make up for the sleep I had lost over the last couple of days.
My weight is up todayx( I am hoping that I am retaining water from being a wake so long.....would that be possible? I ate late last night to.I will just have to be a good girl all day and then I will feel better.
I am getting ready to run now. I am going to aim for a 40 min run. We had plans to leave the house and do somethings today and my run is going to put us behind...big time.Not overly worried about it.Dh is always doing something that causes a delay.When I get home this afternoon I may go get groceries and clean my house.

Diana- I have to say that I don't know what it feels like to struggle with weight issues.But I had friends growing up who had weight problems.Two actually.I haven't seen one in a while but the other one is still overweight.She was at my apartment one time and she walked up to the store to get somethings to eat for lunch.And while she was making her lunch she ate an ice cream and a bag of chips. So I am not even sure if she is trying to lose weight anymore but that was 7 yrs ago to.I know it was a constent struggle for them but I never looked at them any differently.

Anyway, I am going to go for my run before DH calls and says "you haven't got it done yet"?

Oh good morning too, I am tired this morning!!!!!!! Today i am going to do my Just Thighs workout, some ab work, and some kind of cardio. Maybe C&W's cardio, I haven't done that in so long, and I have always loved that workout. The music is such a pick-me-up.

Diana- I do not have the good genes either. I have always had to watch what I eat, and diet. The last time I weighed myself, I weighed 143, and I am 5'4", and 41. I give up on dieting, and you know what?? My daughter has told me about 5 times in the last 2 weeks how skinny I look. I am really concentrating on portion control, and mixing the good with the bad. I think it is finally working. I did lose 8 lbs. on WW's over the last 4 months, but as I know now, I am maintaining it. If I weighed 135, it would be perfect. For my build, and age, I would probaly be a 6. Right now I am a 8, but they seem to be getting looser. I have just decided I am what I am, yes, I wish I looked better, but I am sick of trying to be someone I am not. Maybe that is finally my key to the weight battle, to just mix good with bad, and eat sensibly.

Diana- I jog on my treadmill but havent jogged outside in over a year. When I had my car accident and was in treatment it just wasn't an option. I wouldn't mind getting back out side with it but I wouldnt want to slow you down! Not knowing exactly what your fitness level is maybe that is a incorrect assuption on my part. I usually do between 45 mins to an hour on the treadmill with intervals of fast up hill walking. Maybe we could chat and see where we each are at fitness wise or just get together and not worry who can run the fastest or the longest :) We could be out there o cheer each other on!

Good Afternoon everyone,

I just did MIS, followed by Cardio Kicks and Coremax#3. I chose cardio kicks since I wanted something easy today. Went heavy on the weights in MIS, should be feelin' it tomorrow.

Teri-you certainly wouldn't slow me down. Currently running between 9 and 10 min miles. At my best I was around 8 min miles when I was running all the time. Also had my lowest weight back then. You can email me at [email protected]. It would be nice to meet another Catheite.

HI Everyone,

Just woke up from alittle cat nap:) We are suppose to go out and have a couple of drinks tonight. If we go, it won't be a late night though. I can't do that to my body when its just getting over night shifts.
My workout was only running today. I ran for 40 min on the treadmill.After that, I had quit the busy day.
We went to a meat store today.First time we have ever done that.We bought all sorts of yummy meats that should last us for a while.And of course, I had to buy a dessert as well.

Just did Imax2. Love that one. I'm still on a high from my son's appts this week :) So many friends family have emailed back nice notes - very nice.

So I've done 3 weeks of the 3 times each I think I'm ready to take it up a notch. Today was my first workout when I felt really good.

Lori - I love those cat naps - took one today too.. it was a rainy cold day - perfect for a nap.
 
Good Morning Everyone,

I am feeling much better today.I think I am well rested.It took me a couple of days to get over those night shifts.Not crawling in bed as soon as I got off of work was the killer.
Why is my scale being so mean? Its not possible that I gained 2.5 lbs yesterday.It is a digital scale and it is on its way out.I think I am really going to have to watch what I eatx( b/c I don't. I don't eat alot of greasy food but I love my sweets and I eat my fair share.I would like to follow something like BFL or the Abs Diet but it just seems like my heart is not into it. I want to drop 10 lbs but I don't think I want to drop it bad enough to put the effort in.Its only to get started and the motivation should start to flow but my work schedule is so up and down....I need to find some sort of pattern.

Hows that for a Sunday morning whinning? Hold on.......Just took my measurments and they are the same.
I think I am going to go up town today and buy a journal and right down what I will eat this week. Try and keep my cals around 1200.I know it seems low but it needs to be low for me to lose weight....I ain't that tall either.
Today is going to be a run and I am going to tackle CTX UB tonight. I am hoping my running partner will call to see if I want to run outside.

Lori - just a question. You mentioned above that you bought size 28 pants, and could have bought a 27. Why on earth would you need to lose 10 lbs? Just curious.:)
