Summer Blast check in - week starting 8/16

Well it appears that our check in here is dying a slow death.:eek: LOL

Are we still going to check in here; are we all done and gone on to other checkins/things or are we just in a slow summer slump?

I'm still following Cathe's August rotation and really enjoying it. I've been back on a regular schedule since the kids went back to school. Now we start with dance classes and soccer matches here. I've not been able to get online much as I have tons of things on my plate, but do make it a point when I do get online I visit the forums here.
Anyone following the Olympic games?

I hope everyone who checked in this thread in the past are all doing well.

Hey everyone,

I've wondered what Vilma is wondering also. I have been very busy at work lately. Usually I check in at lunchtime or for a quick break, and haven't been able to do so as much lately. I also went away for four days over the weekend, to visit my parent in south central VA. I was able to work out a little there; I did a 20 min TaeBo tape and a 20 minute pilates tape each day Sat and Sun, and threw in a set of push ups on Sat. Yesterday after the trip back, I just did some ab work, and today I did 30 minutes of kickboxing and abs. Not sure yet what the rest of the week will be.

Vilma, how did you fare during Hurricane Charley? Had it weakened by the time it got to the NC shore?

I have just been so buisy lately, with trying to get the last bit out of what summer we have left!
I have been running as you all know this summer. Now DH is saying that I am getting the runner body! I am not sure what that is, but I think it's a good thing, because he says that I can run everyday if I want, he is liking the results I guess!
So far this week I have done no workouts. Probably won't be able to squeeze one in today either. Cleaning is a priority and so is working right now. And trying to get outside during our one 80 degree day this week!
But tomarrow while my son is at school I will go for a run again. As long as it's not raining. That is what kept me from running yesterday.

Oh, Velma, I did check out the Olympics on Monday night, and a tiny bit yesterday. But not a whole lot this year. Maybe I'll get more into it during the week.
I don't want our check in to die! Keep posting!!

well charley just dumped tons of rain and a bit of strong winds in my lil spot here. My lawn is looking nice and green now ;)


I usually end up taking Sat & Sun off due to the fact my living room which also subs as my workout area is full of my family vegging in front of the tv from the week. My youngest one always ends up taking over the space as she tends to make a fort with her quilts, chairs and pillows; of course my teens egg her on as they enjoy giving her ideas on how to reinforce the fort. They all end up in there watching tv :)

So it's great that you can workout even while visiting.
 
We should definately keep it up! Even if I don't check in, I still like to see what everyone else is up to. DH and I are still cycling regularly...I seem to do more spinning than outdoor stuff during the week since I don't like to go out on the road by myself. If something happens to the bike (or even me) it's best to have DH (my bike mechanic!) with me. Hopefully we'll get to head outdoors together this weekend. Otherwise I'm following the M&F Hers rotation that long-lost Brenda hooked me up with. This week is supersetting, next week is either circuit or heavy. I try to hit ub twice, core 3 or 4 times, and lift for legs at least once (I don't worry about legs too much with the cycling). Other than that we're getting ready for our school year...all our books and DVDs are coming in...the boys will be studying some cool stuff this year so we're all excited to begin.

Hey, hey... please don't die on me. :) This check-in (even though I don't do this as frequently anymore) is my only source of motivation these days.

My workouts have been reduced from 6 a week to a mere 4. I'm trying to get back on track but time's a big challenge. Here's what I've been doing lately:
Thurs - PS-entire upper body
Fri - CTX-Power Circuits + Body Max Power Circuits + SH & SJP abs
Mon - PH
Tue - Imax 2 + C&W abs

I'd like to do more cardio today. Maybe a combination of kickboxing and step.
