RE: Mar!
Hi Debbie - I'll post ? on Cathe Forum. Actually if you remember my post in the success forum, two months after my mother was placed in the nursing home (end of April), I had emergency surgery to remove my spleen. It was a terrible ordeal as I fought everyone about going to the emergency room until it was almost too late. I suffered with excruciating pain for about 10 hours. I know how foolish that was and I learned my lesson. Anyway, my organs were swimming in blood so I was rushed into surgery immediately. I was petrified. They had to cut from the middle of the breast bone to an inch under the bellybutton. Scar is about 13 inches long. Reason being, it was a spontaneious rupture and my other organs had to be checked out at the same time. Neddless to say, I did not expect such an incision with such a gruelling recovery. Iwas hospitalized for 5 days which I didn't expect either. I'm alive though and I thank God for that. Anyway, three and a half weeks later I was on a stationery bike and lifting light weights. I did that for about three weeks then progressed to using a borrowed Gazelle (boy is that boring). I progressed very quickly and am so glad I didn't get rid of my less intense workouts because I used them alot (Gay GAsper, Gilad, K. Smith). I've been back to my regular routine - Step, Kickbox and weights (heavy). Only area I don't work much is abs cause the incision still bothers me. I'm so thankful to have my life and that God gave me the ability and strength to bounce back. This is probably more than you wanted to know LOL. Thanks for your interest and all your great advice on the forums.
