I have officially been a routine exerciser now for 2 years!!! WOW!! I started with a bowflex and treadmill for 8 months then progressed to the firm for about 16 months and then to Cathe. I think this officially makes this a lifestyle change!!! I only wish I had started sooner- but better late than never huh?? What about everyone else how long have you been working out?

Catherine

Sounds like your commitment is paying off. I'm 39 (will be 40 this year) and have been exercising almost all of my life. I was a gymnast from elementary all through high school. Then I had a few years off, until I was about 22. Gained weight after high school due to inactivity. Had a baby at 22, another 24 then really got on the band wagon to take off the wt. Mostly running and aerobics, until I found Cathe in 1996. Had my third child in 1996 but have continued exercising regularly. I must say though, I was at my lowest weight when running 6 days a week. Due to feet problems, I don't run hardly ever anymore-but keep active with Cathe and cardio machines (elliptical, stepper, and bike). I still struggle with my weight but expect to be a lifelong exerciser.

I've been an exerciser for 17 years. I started out in High School Cross Country. Then had various gym memberships and home equipment for the next 11 years, till now, exclusively Cathe. I have a Body Solid station an elliptical stepper and a treadmill also. I wish I learned better eating habits earlier. For the longest time I thought LOW FAT was the way to go. Boy was I wrong.

Catherine:

What do you like better The Firm or Cathe???? Or better yet, which workout gives you better results for your time?????

I have been doing The Firm since July 2003 on and off. I just ordered her hardcore series and can wait to start using it.

Life is good.

I started doing Cathe in July '04 and haven't done a firm workout since. Does that answer your question?? I feel like I push myself more with Cathe. They are definately more intense so be ready for a challenge!!

Congratulations Catherine!! It's a great accomplishment!! I will be celebrating my 16th year next month. My friend & I got gym memberships when we turned 16 and exercise has been a part of my life since. Ofcourse I am more of a home exerciser due to family, time etc. I still like to go take live classes here and there w/ my friends or sisters. I am fortunate to have 2 friends as well as 3 sisters who are very interested in fitness. My DH is still a member at the gym and has been lifting since he turned 19(32 now). We intend to continue living a healthy lifestyle both for ourselves and our 2 kids!!

Congrats Catherine! That's a major accomplishment and you should be very proud!:7

Let's see...I started avidly exercising at the end of May 2002 so that's about 2 1/2 years ago now.

I started out with the great body guaranteed series by beach body.com. I also used:
Leslie Sansone's walk away the pounds
Power half hour series
Slim in 6
All of these I did for about the first year. After that I discovered the Firm and had been doing them faithfully for about 1 1/2 years until just a couple of weeks ago when I discovered Cathe! I also started to add in some Pilates about 9 months ago.

I went from about 142 pounds to 125 pounds and created some great muscle tone! Was still trying to figure out how to get that chiseled mid section when I got pregnant so that is going to have to wait a bit for now.;-)

At this point I am 110% HOOKED on my work outs! They keep me hopping and often times I actually look forward to doing them! Speaking of which....I need to work out right now as a matter of fact...

TTYL!

Excellent Catherine! It's great to look back and see how far you've come isn't it! Congratulations on your continued workouts!! You go girl! :) :)

Catherine, That's awesome!! Definitely better late than never!!

I've been exercising since High School (cheerleading) and am now 42. I've just about always kept a gym membership but really prefer working out at home with videos (as I can make all my 'ugly' faces and not worry about scaring anyone:p ) My biggest problem has been finding fitness 'buddies' who were committed (that was until I found this forum!!) I also get bored REALLY easy...so I love the rotations!!

Keep at it....you're probably really close or have arrived at addiction mode!!

I know what you mean about those ugly faces-LOL!!!

My husband tells me I am obsessed with my w/o. I say oh well could be worse. I definately give myself rest days though so I know I'm not overtraining!!! He's a minimalist- works out for 10 mins and he's done. I don't think he could make it through my easiest video!!!
