Sub for Xtrain Legs?

I need a little input here....I just finished off my first week Xtrain 90 day undulating rotation with the Xtrain Leg 80 min premix. Problem is...I didn't like that workout. My barometer for a good workout is DOMS the next day and so far...nothing. I am hell bent on finishing this rotation but would like to sub out another leg dvd that would compliment this rotation. Do I sub a heavy weight leg workout...an endurance, hypertrophy. Any suggestions???
 
I just did XTrain Legs on Saturday and got a great workout, complete with DOMS. I do Premix 2 - the one that includes all leg sections, and I add ankle weights for the entire portion that follows the standing work. I don't know how important it is that the workout be specifically endurance, hypertrophy, or pure strength, but Cathe has so many lower body workouts that you could choose from: Legs & Glutes, LIS-TBT-LB, CTX Leaner Legs, Butts & Guts, the LB premix of STS TB, etc., etc., etc. Her DVD catalog is rather extensive at this point. Do you subscribe to Cathe LIVE? The LIVE lower body routines are all terrific. Good luck!
 
I did premix #3...I guess I expected to be super sore today and I'm not. I've got Slow and Heavy, Pyramid, RWH, Lean legs and Abs etc. I just wanted to pick a dvd that would compliment the rotation.
I didn't use ankle weights though so maybe I'll give it another try this week with weights and see how I do. I guess I shouldn't use muscle soreness to determine the effectiveness of a workout.

Well, if DOMS is what you crave try LIS Trisets LB as Carol suggested above. It's not really endurance like Xtrain Legs, but unless you already have legs of iron, you will probably feel it for a couple of days after. :) Pure Strength Legs is also a known DOMS inducer.
 
Legs of Iron....that makes me chuckle. No I def. don't have legs of Iron. They're short and stout and get me around. I suppose Im a little old school though and my brain says "Oooh I'm sore, musta been a good workout". I gotta quit listening to the voices in my head.
 
I'm right there with you about XTrain legs, mrsditchin. Not my favourite. I did it when required for the 90 day undulating rotation, but haven't pulled it out since. I'm not a fan of ball work, barre or floor stuff. Purely a lack of enjoyment thing, rather than thinking there's anything 'wrong' with that particular workout.

I like the Elsie's suggestion, but I'd also give a shout out to STS meso #2 legs - that's what I'd sub if I were doing XTrain again.

80 minutes premix of xtrain Leg is a long endurance workout so I suggest something different.
Hypertrophy, 60 minutes Triset. So STS#20 Leg would challenge your muscle differently.
Leg segment from Pure strength ---> Strong legs is my second suggestion.

If you want DOMS from these workout select 75% one rep max, making sure you're struggling to complete the last two reps. I like to struggle throughout the last 3 reps to earn the minute break at the end of each triset round. By time I start the next round my heart rate is still pretty high to keep the huffing and puffing on throughout the entire workout.:)
