Stupid Mango Question

I had to have a fellow shopper describe the cutting tecnique to me before I understood (he was holding a mango and going through the explanation) But I did manage and I made the salsa and it was WONDERFUL. We ate it with broiled grouper. -joy

In South America, you take a bite off the top and suck and squeeze the juice out. You then peel the skin away and eat the meat. It is messy, but nothing is wasted. I have seen my mom put the entire pit in her mouth! :D

Hi Tamika,

First of all - you look absolutely great in your pics!! You go girlfriend!!!

And yes, I agree with what you are saying about SA - in Puerto Rico also - right from the tree. Messy, but oh so good!! We also like them green - kind of sour - sprinkle a little salt on them - yummy! And they work very well in salsa - chopped with red onions, scallions, cilantro and fresh squeezed lime juice. Goes great with any type of fish! Enjoy!!

Take care,

Iris
