Stubbed my pinky toe...

workout

Cathlete
Hello everyone, just wondering if anyone has ever stubbed their pinky toe. I stubbed it last Tuesday, October 11. It never turned black/blue, it did not get huge swollen, just a little swelling. At the time of the hit, yes, that hurt a lot! But in a couple of days, it was feeling much better, still tender and still walking with a little limp today. Just wondering if it is still possible to have broken my pinky toe bone? I can wiggle my toe, and when I move the pinky to with my fingers back and forth - no problem, again, just a little sore. I can stand on my tippy toes, bend my toes and just feel a little pain again nothing major.

I'm upset because I cannot do any Step workouts - (just before the release of the new DVDs - UGH) that makes it hurt again not excruciating pain either. Can anyone recommend anything I can do to help the healing process or is it just a matter of giving it time? I know that it will get better but when you are as active as we all are, it's yucky.

Thanks for your help.

Ouch!

I've broken my pinky toe on each foot. You can't do anything about a busted pinky other then tape it to the next toe for support and then let it heal. The first time I broke my toe, it was actually sticking out horizontally, went to the doc and he pushed it straight and then and taped it. So I basically could have done the same thing and saved some cash. The next time it happened, that is what I did. They both healed just fine and no residual pain.

What she said, ice it, elevate it, tape it. Btw, yes, any bone can break, and I have broken both my pinky toes on different occasions. It was horrendous. I cried for 30 minutes straight. I'm not normally a crier, I think I've cried 4 other times in my life, when each of my grandparents died, when my friend Abe died, and on 9/11. Its just not a habit. My broken bones always burn and color up 2-3 days after.

Years ago I rammed my pinky toe into a heavy piece of furniture. I went in just to see if it was broken because I'd never broken a bone. It was and I have the tiniest baby toes. I just wore open toed shoes for a bit and didn't work out for a week or so.

I broke my pinky toe years ago but needed surgery, as tiny bone fragments got lodged in the joint. To this day, my pinky toe is bigger than my other toes.
