I hate to ask, but I want to realistically understand. When we got the "unnamed series" there were all of those quality problems, and you guys had to re-check, re-stamp, and re-send --- what a pain for you!
I went back to the blog from the 4DS series, and this is what I understood to be the process:
Once SONY receives the DLT tapes from NFL Films they will make their own “master stampers” and send us 10 copies of each disc. We will then THROUGHLY test each of these discs on all kinds of players and reproof each DVD once again just to make sure everything is okay.
Was this step necessary for STS (quality control I'm sure) and has it been done? Are you all just now waiting for the actual replicated discs to arrive to you and be shipped? I ask because from the last STS update on 1/8 this was said:
This involves ordering and making sure all DVD cases, artwork and custom packages are delivered to their replication plant, making sure all check discs have been approved and finally making sure all paperwork has been signed. As you can imagine with a huge production run of this size and the added factor of 41 discs to each set, we have to be extremely careful that things are done correctly. We certainly don’t want any mistakes or quality problems with the discs.
Do you still have to get 10 of all 41 DVDs and go through that before giving SONY the order to stamp? Or was that step done long ago? Sorry if I didn't understand this correctly.
