Hi girlies! What a weekend! I've just got to tell you about it. Let's start at the beginning.
Friday: My DH and I went to the Melting Pot for our anniversary dinner. For those who don't know, the Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant. We got the "Big Night Out" which is a 4 course dinner - cheese fondue, salad, meat fondue and chocolate fondue. Wow, the food was amazing. I ate sooo much - to the point that I
literally made myself sick. Great food, not so great ending. I think I learned my lesson.
Saturday: Normal day for the most part. That evening, my DH's family came over to celebrate my DH's birthday (which is actually tomorrow - 5/31). Well, DH's mom didn't bring any of the food DH requested AND she didn't bake his birthday cake. So basically his dinner was a bust and I felt so awful for him. He's so good natured he really didn't care but I got upset because his special meal was not so special. I even ran out and got him ice cream (his favorite dessert) just so he had
something he really liked.
Sunday: At 8:45 am, 30 seconds into my workout, we got a telephone call that DH's dad had been in a car accident (it wasn't his fault) about an hour and a half away. Luckily, thanks to DH's dad's smart driving abilities he turned a potentially fatal wreck into a not so bad wreck. He was very shook up and had lots of cuts from the glass but overall he was okay. We spent most of the day at the hospital, taking pictures of the completely wrecked truck, etc. Needless to say I didn't get a w/o in yesterday. We spent the evening at my parent's house. My DH, sister, dad and nephew played softball (just messing around), so even though I didn't get a formal w/o in yesterday at least I moved a bit.
Today: To make up for DH's crappy birthday dinner on Saturday, I made him a special dinner tonight: maple syrup pork chops with cinnamon apples, sweet potatos and fresh corn on the cob. I also made him a frozen turtle ice cream thing for dessert. I tried to make it healthier - not heavy cream, light ice cream, light cool whip, etc. Not sure how i'm going to get the candles into a frozen dessert, but i'll figure it out.
I did get in a killer workout today. Disc 14 + STS abs (medicine ball) + Kick Max punching drills. I wanted to do the cardio challenge too but my legs were literally shaking from Disc 14. I'm going to be soooo sore tomorrow. YAY!!! I used the heaviest weights YET today (thanks in part to
Kiki's earlier post) and i'm very proud of myself.
My check in is to say that I did get in a w/o today. I did GS Back, Shoulders & bi. Once I got dressed, out and about visiting some family, I just had to come back and report to my girls. Ladies, I've received SO many compliments on my weight loss/ body composition changes that I had to let my STS peeps know, KEEP AT IT. Go hard, the results are more than worth it! And to top it all off, my DH just keeps just looking over @ me with *that* look
, lol, and sayin "your hard work is REALLY paying off
"
Kiki: Pretty woman, walking down the street, pretty woman, the kind I like to meet YAY on all the fantastic compliments. You've worked so hard and you deserve all the praise little lady!!
Your success is very inspiring. I saw your post before today's w/o and it pushed me to work just a
little bit harder. The compliments and yummy DH's looks are the best!!
Enjoy the rest your vacation!!!
Tracy: Great job with Disc 13. I've still got DOMS in my shoulders and chest from it (I did the w/o on Saturday). Disc 14 was AMAZING. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the triset formula. Afterwards I had to adjust every exercise in the w/o manager because I was able to really up my weights. My legs were shaking at the end but I felt so good. I hope you like it as much as I did!
Awwww, I love the idea of a fun walk with the DH.
I'm such a dork I know! I hope you have a great time at tonight's get-together.
Wendy: Welcome back!!!!! I'm very glad to hear you had such a great weekend. It sounds like you had so much fun. Great job sneaking in that workout. That one sounds like a toughie.
Sorry for the long post.
Enjoy the rest of this beautiful day ladies!!
