STS for gastric bypass patient?

I've lost 115 pounds in 8 months after having gastric bypass surgery. I just went to my primary doctor a week or so ago. He told me I need to build muscle. Would this program be too much for someone like me who is starting over in a position of having lost muscle and strength? I'm most wondering if I should start with the 2nd regime because I want to build strength and get the best toning. Please give as much info as you can. I'm new at this.

Congrats on your weight loss!! I'm obviously not Cathe, but you may want to start first with one of Cathe's slightly easier series such as her Pure Strength series and then progress from there to her Gym Styles series or her Slow & Heavy series. Good Luck and have fun with your strength building...you'll love the muscle you see!!

congratulations to you. My husband is a surgeon and the patients he sees back in his office after this surgery are only successful in their weight loss if they have the discipline and committment to stick with a healthy eating plan too. So you must truly be disciplined, which will lend itself to your workouts! Great job!

STS is a very challenging program that gives results. But if I were just getting into weight lifting, I would probably choose Cathe's Gym style series to begin with and then go to STS after building a base.

Best of luck to you!

I would opt for the Body Blast Weights DVD (Supersets and Push/Pull)...IMHO they are the "easiest" full weights (with no cardio) in my collection. That being said, the intensity can be varied and there are SO many pre-mixes that these workouts will remain "fresh" for you for some time...

Congrats! And welcome to the forums!
