STS Fit chicks Mon Feb 9

Hi everyone,

I completed disc 6 (legs) yesterday, and it was a good challenge. The low pulse lunges and one leg elevated lunges were very tough. It took me a few times to experiment with weights (lower!) on the elevated lunges to get it done right. I'm feeling a little soreness from Saturday's disc 4, but in a good way.

I too have been trying to get my eating under control. Did much better last week, and hope to do so again this week.

I think that joining this check-in has helped me be more accountable. Thanks!

Michelle

Hello ladies ..

I did Legs (disc 3) Sat . and OMG ... I dont think I have EVER been that sore . . EVER!!! Nan .. glad to hear someone else is sharing in my pain .. my legs rarely get real sore .. but disc 3 FRIED them .. my hamstrings are STILL sore!! but yesterday it was so bad it was the "I cant sit down .. and if I do I cant get back up" kinda sore!! YOWZA!!

I am teaching tonight I am hoping I wont be "limpin" thru a step routine!! Tommorrow SIL and I are gonna tackle disc 4 .. yup saw all the pushups .. ugh ... my shoulder is injured but I will do as many as I can w/good form!!

Not sure if I can increase my wieght this week .. gonna try on the UB .. but with the LB being so freaking sore think I am gonna stay right where I am on the weights .. lol!!! Have a great one!

Hi everyone,
I started last tuesday so today is my rest day. I teach a power pilates class tonight but I might not do as many pilates pushups as usual since tomorrow is disc 4 for me. I have told my classes about STS so they understand why I am not working out as hard as usual. Funny, once I showed them the workout cards for disc 1 & 2 none of them wanted to join me on my STS journey!!!
I was fortunate not to have DOMS after the Disc 3 legs. Wall squats and lunges weren't that bad.... I have been using them in a bootcamp class I taught until I started STS so I guess my legs are accustomed to that type of exercise. Somehow I know I my legs will be "fried" at some point by Cathe!!!

Hi ladies, I just did my first STS workout yesterday. I'm reallllly feeling it today! Biceps are killing me, as are my delts and pectorals. I found I had to go down a little in weight on many of the shoulder exercises. My deltoids and upper back are not very strong, and they got cooked pretty fast. I managed to do all but the last set of push-ups, but all in some variation of on-the-knees. I'm psyched because, even though I'm not a big fan of push-ups, I'm hoping doing all these will get me to the point where I can do them on my toes, and maybe, just maybe I'll actually learn to like them. ;)

I'll be skiing for a few hours tonight, and I'm slated for disc 2 of week 1 tomorrow morning.

Phyllis - I totally agree with the bow and arrow exercise with the band. When I first started, I thought "Oh this band is too easy." I put the dvd on pause and got a harder band. OH MY! I thought I was going to totally fry my shoulder off on that one.

I also did disc 4 this morning and I absolutely LOVED this one. I know people said some of the execises are spliced in there from disc 1, but I couldn't tell. I know Cathe was wearing a different outfit in disc 1 than disc 4. I did see some repeat exercises from disc 1 (just a couple). I guess I don't see how anything was spliced from previous workouts.

Tomorrow I will be doing disc 6, then disc 5 on Thursday, then disc 6 again on Friday. As I have said before, I like training my legs two times a week.

Lisa - welcome to the check-ins!

I did Disc 3 today, I felt nice and worked out afterward will see what DOMS it produces. I hope I'll be able to sit on the toilet!;) My lats really had DOMS after Disc 2. I'll be doing Disc 1 and 2 again this week to get on the schedule I want to be on for the recovery week to fall where I want it to be. Then I hope to just chug along with the rest of you on our STS journey.

Hey Everyone...

I did Disc 4 today! I have to admit, the push-ups weren't as hard for me this time around. I still struggled, but not as much as Disc 1.

Also love the Bow & Arrow Band move!!

i did find that some of my 1RM's must be off, because I could not physically lift what my 65% number was. For instance: 27 Lbs for Biceps. Not on your life!! I ended up with 15 or 17.5's.

I'm looking forward to Low Max tomorrow!!!

my pace weights came today and they made things so much easier or should I say harder for me. Today was #4 - a lot of pushups which I can do most of them on my toes. My wrist sure doesn't like them. I might need to sub some of them for something else. I wonder if I will be sore - sure hope so.

1rm for biceps is off for me also - I'm a wimp when it comes to them.

I'm loving mesocyle 1. I still haven''t decided yet if I should to do 3 monthsor 6 month rotation.

Chris I also felt that the push up wasn't as hard as the first one. I still did them on my knees but I was able to do all of them instead of half.

I am also looking forward to Low Max tomorrow too. This is one of my favorite step video.

Finished disc 4 and SB abs. Pushups were better, I prefer them on the ball (they're easier!) and there seemed to be more like that. I confess, the ones on the floor I did on my knees, my wrist isn't liking the toe version. I think the staggered pushups are the easiest of the floor pushups, I don't know why, but they are.

SB abs had some hard spots. The side roll in with the one leg winging out to one side. What the heck was that?!?!?! It wasn't happening in my basement, I can tell you that. I did the easier version where both my knees stayed on the ball. Also, the one legged pikes - I watched and marveled. I only did a couple of the regular pikes. Again, my wrist wasn't digging those, either. But I did like it. There were a couple of squeaks and squeals on some new moves where I almost fell off. Its gonna take some practice!

Nighty night all!
Nan
