Hi Everyone! Please start posting your workout results for Disc 19 here. I did this workout today but due to one jam packed day I will post about it tomorrow. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Nighty!

Just wanted to say I can't wait to read this. Although I didn't repeat Meso 1, I will be repeating each week in Meso 2 & 3 so now I won't be with the group. Have fun everyone!

Good morning!
I completed this w/o yesterday, and my target weights were right on target. I am loving it:)!

I did this workout yesterday so I could take advantage of using a spotter. I must say the chest, shoulder, and tricep work in this mesocycle has become my favorite. Normally I look forward to the leg workouts because that is my strongest muscle group but the progress I have made in the upper body has made me very excited for the upper body workouts. STS has exceeded my expectations...loving it!

Wow! My muscles are fried! I did great on chest - felt really strong, right up until my muscles gave out on the incline flies. My workout card said 25s, so I grabbed them, got into position, and my body just said "no way" so I lowered my weight and went on. It's nice to know I gave it my all. Shoulders were hard, and by the time triceps came along my body just did whatever I told it to - I think it was too tired to argue. I love the wave loading concept! It was hard to wash my hair afterward, so I think I'll be feeling it tomorrow.

Good workout but long - had to double up on cardio yesterday and that made for one long workout time.
My favorite is shoulder work. I am definitely fried by the end of the workout.
Still feel as though I am short-changing myself on chest, even with an increase in weight.
I have come a long way with triceps since the start of STS - I wouldn't have dreamed of using these weight increments before.
Guess that is all for me today ;-)
Have a great day everyone

I did this workout this morning and I have a feeling I'm going to be feeling it tomorrow or Wednesday. I just now have DOMS from Friday's workout! I am very surprised that I've been able to do the weights listed for shoulders and triceps which seem to be my weakest areas so that means that STS truly is working for me!

Have a great day,
Bev

Morning, everyone :).

Did this one yesterday. Did great on the shoulders & triceps and can feel it today. Didn't do well on the chest again this week - and that's normally my strongest muscle group. Don't know what I did with my 1RM but I'm going to have to adjust my weights downward. It's not worth an injury or bad for to do anything else. Sigh....

But I did love the workout (and will like it a lot more when I get the chest # right). Really enjoyed the double wave loading, too :D! It made for a nice change !

I really liked the double wave load concept of Disc 19...Chest felt great, strong. I think I must have used my
shoulders cause they were not responding to the weights today. I had to keep lowering just to keep up. Still had a tough, great work out. Triceps were on fire. I love the prone incline flys, they feel great!

Felt great in the workout and got right to the end of what I'm capable of. Just right! But then I find it funny how when I hit the shower and the water heat increases blood flow to the upper body, I just tremble and can barely lather up! LOL... Loved it!

Felt strong this morning! At first, when I started the first heavy set of chest work, it felt really heavy but then I surprised myself as the weight increased. Even on the cross body extensions I saw my calculated weight and thought "no way! That's not going to happen!" but I gave it a try anyway and was surprised that I could actually do it! Great workout!!!

Whoa! Double wave loading = Double trouble! ;) I was just getting a little cocky about STS, then today came! The double wave loading was so challenging. My muscles failed on the last set, couldn't get even to 4, much less 8! But it felt like good weight. Got a great workout for the chest as well as the tri's & shoulders.

That's what I love about STS, it keeps on challenging!

I just completed this workout. I really surprised myself on the double-wave loading chest work. I think I have gained strength because when I started this Meso heavier, I had to have my husband assist on the last few reps. This time, I was able to get the job done on my own.

The shoulder work was a different story. The shoulder presses were HARD! I had to cut the reps down by one on almost every set. It seemed the left side was harder to push up than the right.

The barbell tricep extensions were difficutl but I was able to push through. As Cathe pointed out, it isn't the kind of exercise you want to fail at on the way down and let the bar smack you in the nose! I have to figure out the tricep kickbacks. I don't seem to feel them in my triceps like I think I should. I might try one arm or go a little lighter than listed. I seem to be more kicking them up there than controlling it with the tricep muscle.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful workout today. On to legs on Wednesday!

I finished up #19 this afternoon. I had to split up the workout. I wasn't confident doing the chest work at the work gym. I felt I needed the rack at home. So I did the shoulders and tris at work during lunch, and chest when I got home. Do you think I compromise the workout by doing that. Everything is pumped so I guess it's better than not doing it at all.

The weights were good. Had to lower the incline chest presses a bit. Oh and the cross body triceps are always tough for me. But everything else was on.

You are all doing so awesome, I love reading the posts.

Nite.

Disk 19

Chest work went smoothly, shoulders were tough, but maintained 1RM throughout. Triceps were fine until the cross body kicks. I had to lower my weight and still had trouble completing the reps. And man, those shoulder presses never seemed to end either! I was very surprised at the weight I was able to do with those. Major improvement! :) Where can I get those mirco-load gloves? I have been wearing 1 lb. ankle weights on my wrists. Not the best, but it does the trick for those 1 lb. increases. Good luck everyone!

CATHE, CATHE, CATHE!!! guess what? i did 12 pushups on my toes for the first time ever. it has to be STS. i know that doesn't sound like much, but pushups have always been soooo hard for me. i had just given up even trying to do them on my toes. but thought i would try today and i did it. thanks for STS!
however, i'm kinda scared of meso 3. it looks so hard. and don't know if my old body can take the plyos.

one more thing, cathe, if you see this. i was thinking about finishing meso 2 w/ya'll and then going on to meso 3. i am on my recovery week this week. should i do that, or go on to meso 3?

Hi Cathe and fellow STSer's:)

I did this workout today.

STS-Disc #19-Chest, Shoulders, and Tri's= 69 min
Calories burned= 536
Wow! I loved the waveloading. It showed me two things. 1, that I'm able to go up in my current weight selections and 1RM percentages. 2, this showed me that I'm stronger than what I originally figured now looking back at my 1RM. So, its definitely working. The only thing that did seem to be a problem for me was the Prone Incline Flys. I have two benches from the firm for the long ones (the Transfirmer) I have the long boxes and the short high steps from them. I used the long ones for the prones and found that I could not lift the weights at all from a prone position. I moved to a chair and did those seated bent at the waist forward and had no problem doing my weight. I had to modifiy things to make it work. I figured it still works the same muscle groups right? I hope that was ok. I didn't want to opt out of doing an exercise.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm loving the waveloading. It was a fun workout. It did seem a bit longer pace wise but a very effective and doable workout.

Thanks again for STS Cathe!:D

Hugs!

Nora

Yesterday a tough day

Hi All! I am posting so late because yesterday was a tough day loaded with commitments. Then my poor little guy came down with an ear infection right off the school bus so off to the docs we went. He is a much happier camper today which means mom is all smiles too ;)

Well hello double wave loading!!!!!!!!! Is that intense or what? I LOVED the way my chest was maxed out. Shoulders and triceps were equally challenged but I felt it differently on those muscle groups. Hard too but not the same type of swell in the muscle. All good stuff.

I'm loving the heavy lifting challenges. I can't believe how fast Meso 2 is going. Wow, we are in our third week, that flew by!

I'm definitely going to be sore across the entire chest region, that is a given. Tonight I am going to do Legs. Wish me luck.

Enjoy your DOMS...I mean day :D

Way to go Cathy! What do you mean 12 push ups is not a lot...YES IT IS!!! Do your best with Plyo's. See how you do and modify any way you need to. Yes, it is hard but the breaks might make it seem more comfy to your body.
