STS Body Rockers week of October 16th

Ok, so I totally skipped checking in y'day, lol. Idk what that was all about :confused:. I was just all over the place trying to catch up from being gone all weekend. Today is another crazy day, but I got a minute so figured I'd pop in. Yesterday was supposed to be an STS day, but I just didn't have time, so I popped in KCM TLC Boxing and just did that instead. It was in the mailbox waiting for me when I got home, AND it was only 30 min, so....I figured it was better than nothing ;). Today I went ahead and did Disc 7 (y'day's w/o), and also the Extended Stretch.

Kris: Not only being up by 5:15 on the weekend, but being DONE....WITH HIIT!!!! :confused: .......no comment :rolleyes:. I'll have to get my hands on Power Hour, I can't believe I don't have that one yet :eek: . I'm glad you got all your new DVDs and a new player. I'm sure you won't regret the portable player purchase, they're so practical to have ;) Enjoy your rest day!

Katie: I ADORE Gym Styles! It was one of the first DVDs of Cathe's I purchased (thus what got me hooked! :cool: ). I was right there w/ya with the shaky arms today. Between the Elmo pushups, and the 1000 other pushups in the M1 chest w/o, I was ready to throw a weight plate at poor Cathe (or my poor screen, I should say :rolleyes: )

Bridget: Glad we're back on track, lady ;). Playtime is over! :p

Wiggie: You stick w/Wendy, she'll get them abs in shape :cool:. Nice work w/Intensity, too. ;) I don't do that one often enough....

Wendy: Yay!!!!! your dip machine will be greeting you w/open arms when you arrive home :D HOW ROMANTIC :p :) I wonder what new toys I shall buy while I wait...I suppose I should start w/a better stopwatch, lol, cuz mine has seen better days. How ya liking the UGI? Maybe I'll look into that one.

Erin: Good job getting in your w/o even during "study" time, lol. I am loving it over at MFP, too, great motivation. Don't be scared to log your cheat days, girl. Have you looked at my diary lately?! Chocolate MANIA?! :eek:
 
I didn't do 4dsplit this morning, I didn't work out today, but I did sign up for spinning tomorrow morning.

I'm watching the Biggest Loser with my daughter- I am such a fan of this show, it isn't just about obese people losing weight, it is about people finding their limits, discovering their self esteem, setting goals, and going from obese, to athletic- it is so inspiring to me!

Tomorrow WW weigh in- not looking forward to it.

Wendy- perhaps if I start small with a few minutes a day of abs, and work my way up...washboard abs by summer- dip station? let us know how that is

Wiggie- Intensity? I did it once, and it kicked my dupa- I sucked wind in a big way doing it.

Katie- I appreciate your bruised buttocks from falling, mine is still smarting. Awesome job on gym strength upper body!

Kris- triceps doms rule!

Erin- Multitasking? You go girl

Kiki- Love the extended stretch- there are days when that is all I want to do.

Hello All!!

My workout today was STSM1D7(I did D8 Sun), I don't always do them in order, I did HIIT 15 for my warmup & skipped Cathe's. After that I did bicycles until my thighs were hurting.

Wendy, I knew the ab thing would make you happy!! Did they deliver the dip station? I'm so excited you would think I'm the one getting it!!

Katie, I almost didn't survive!! I was tempted to stop during the Intensity Max portion, thank goodness that part isn't that long.

Kris, feel free to join me every am for some abs!!

Kiki, with Wendy as my personal trainer I'll have a six pack in no time!!

Bridget, I was sucking wind big time!!

Bridget I usually cant work out on my work days. I work 7a-7p and I would never see my little guys if i did, i just cant bring myself to do it. I dont have a big apt so I cant sneak off and get it done in the house. But i have friends who do it before work, and love it! So gl=)

kiki good job on disc 7! I keep hearing about extended stretch but i dont think i got that with the downloads.

Erin:: Studying for a midterm with a baby AND you work!? WHAT!?! WOW. I am in awe!!! I couldn't do it!:eek:

Kiki:: I purchased a cheapy stop watch at Target about a month or so ago which I ended up hating and never used. Then I dropped my GymBoss and messed up the display. When I replaced it, the newer version came with a stop watch so I was a happy girl! Do you have a GB that needs replacing? If so there is no need to buy a new stop watch! ;) I really like the UGI ball. The work outs that come with it are quite challenging so I will definitely be using them as well! KCM TLC is a great work out. Both segments are short but tough. Did you wear weighted gloves when you did it? ;)

Wiggie:: Great job with your STS work outs! Yes, the dip station was at my door when I got home. I set it up last night and used it this morning during my BR work out! Love it! :D

Bridget:: Biggest Loser is on around the time I usually go to bed so I've never actually watched it. Yes, exactly...just a few minutes a day of ab work will make a difference! You will see! No need to do 20 min ab work outs at all if you don't want to! :)

Good morning everyone,

I had a business dinner last night and didn't get home til late (for me anyway - lol) but did get up and got Boot Camp done this a.m. - loved it, felt really strong and energetic even! Spent some time at my dinner last night talking to a couple of really inspiring ladies about eating right, healthy weight loss, exercise and all, so that was a big motivator:) (and the eats were pretty healthy - it was a Japanese restaurant )

Hi Wendy - Woohoo on the dip station! Great workout too!

Hi Bridget - Great job getting ready to Spin! And best wishes on your weigh in. Just keep at it - you can do it! I agree, BL is very inspiring - and about much more than just weight loss!

Hi Erin - Great job on Disc 5! And hope your spinning was fun too!

Hi Wiggie - Woohoo on doing D7, plus your additions! Way to go! I will commit to doing abs every day with you - I love Wendy's advice too, doesn't have to be 20 minutes worth, but something - that I can do! :)

Good afternoon everyone. A little about myself. I am on weight watcher trying to lose 30lbs. Its been a struggle but am trying. I have really bad vertigo which is making it hard to exercise but am walking a lot. I was on the weight watcher forum but its dying down so I was invited here by my friend Wendy. Tonight is my weigh in night but I have a feeling its going to be a gain since its TTOM. But I know that next week will show a lose. That is always the way. I will be back later to report my weigh in.
 
Good morning....or should I say good afternoon? Good grief it's 1pm and I still haven't checked in? Completely unusual for me! or is it??

So, this morning's workout was Athletic Step. I really enjoy that one; always work up a great sweat! If it was 10-15 minutes longer it might make my top 10 list, but alas it isn't. :confused: I've got high hopes for the new low impact challenge workout but the preview reminds me a lot of Low Max and ya'll know my feelings on THAT workout. :p

Barbara: WELCOME!! We love new members! Wendy has had great success with WW and is an excellent role model! Good luck with the weigh-in tonight!

Kris: I love japanese restaurants! Especially those with a hibachi grill. Yum! Bootcamp is a goody for sure! I did just the cardio sections not to long ago and it reminded me how much I enjoy that workout - need to add it to my calendar soon!

Wendy: Soooo what did you think of the dip station??? Good stuff? Have I mentioned lately how jealous I am of your UGI ball? :p I've only done PUB abs once - maybe twice - after the upper body segments. Learned my lesson REAL quick!

Erin: How is the midterm studying going? My DH is finishing up his engineering degree and he has had soooo many tests lately. Yuck! The STS extended stretch is nice; it has got a kinda yoga feel to it for the first 10 minutes or so. You should definitely consider downloading it too (if that is even possible).

Wiggie: Great job with Disc 7!! When I did STS I was always mixing up the disc order too. Keeps it fun right? :)

Bridget: I don't catch Biggest Loser very often but when I do I to find it inspiring! Great job signing up for spinning tomorrow!

Kiki: How dare you not check in! You rebel. :p So what did you think of KCM TLC Boxing? I've put a few workout DVDs on my "Christmas list" and that is one of them. Okay i've decided to join MFP. I'm doing it RIGHT NOW. Be prepared to be shocked. I eat like crap. :D

Welcome Barbara! I'm on WW too- my weigh in is also today- in a few hours actually- I'll report that in tonight!

Spinned this morning- she tried to hurt us too. I used to like the song "rolling in the deep" by adele, I think it is seriously overplayed now- but it was okay to spin to.
 
Thanks for the welcome. Well I just got back from WW and I am happy to say that I am down 1.4lbs. I was shocked. Lets just say I am doing the happy dance.
 
WW check in- gained 0.8lbs- which isn't too bad given the evil intake I was responsible for last week. Today, I ate my 29 points for the day, and banked my 8 points for spinning class this morning.

Today was a good day, if I string enough good days together, there will be no stopping me!

My name is Terina and I was invited by Wendy to start checking in here.:D

A little about myself: Im a 44 year old granny,mother of 3 girls and have been doing Cathe consistanly for 2 years(give or take), I used to do only THE FIRM which I am grateful for, It got me back into fitness back in 2001. I discovered Cathe a few years after that with Step Works (VHS),then bought a few more of her workouts but went back to The Firm. But Now I have most of all her workouts and also anticipating the new series that is shipping out on Friday :D.
I look forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome to our latest new additions Barb & Terina! :)

Today's work out was a much needed break for the lower body-KCM Split Sessions Upper Body Blitz Premix (22 mins). Went heavy and it was a great work out that included core/abs too!:) Just what the doctor ordered! ;)

Bridget:: .8# is nothing. I've gained much more then that at a "weigh in"!!! It will be gone in no time! :)

Katie:: I love Athletic Step too but unlike you, I think it's plenty long enough!:p I love the dip station! Got to do reverse push ups and leg raises (for abs) on it y'day. Good stuff! PUB abs are killer no matter how you slice it. I will need to dust it off one day when I am in the mood for a killer ab challenge but it will be the FIRST thing I do! Maybe this weekend! Care to join me? ;) LOL re the UGI ball. Do I get the feeling that perhaps you might want one of your own?? :p The only item left on my BR wish list now is a sandbag and I spotted 2 affordable ones on Amazon. Now I'm just waiting for the right time to hit "place order"...:D

Hey ladies! Quick check in for me, I gotta go workout, today is Disc 8 (I think, lol), yesterday was Kick Max. (was supposed to do Disc 8 yesterday, but the bicep DOMS would not allow for the back to do it's thing :cool: , so I put it on hold til today :p....we'll see how it goes :eek: )

But I did want to welcome Barbara (congrats on the weigh-in! :eek: ) & Terina to the group!!!! Look forward to getting to know you ladies. Ya'll will certainly come to love these ladies as I have :eek: , they're so motivating/encouraging... :D

High Step Challenge this morning- where is my Aleve? I will feel this one for a while! It's good to do something other than spinning since finishing STS- except for hotel room Travel Fit, which is just fulfilling a sick fantasy of mine! I racked up a whopping 11 activity points for that one!

I like her High Step workouts- it is what the Firm could have been if they evolved properly! That band trick for the leg presses would never have worked on the original 14" wooden step (I still have mine!)

Wendy- thanks for bringing in the "new blood!" (evil laugh, too close to Halloween) Helps keep this board alive!

Barbara- congrats on the weight loss- any ## in the negative is in the right direction & 1.4lbs is a great number in that direction!

Terina- welcome to the board- I started with the Firm too in the 80's and graduated to Cathe in the late 90's. I wish I could say I exercised consistently all that time- there is always today to start where you want to be tomorrow!

Katie- I have high hopes for the new series too- she usually doesn't disappoint- I'm actually looking forward most to the yoga & barre workouts.

Kris- Japanese restaurants are fun- too much Saki!

Hi gals,

Crazy morning here. I got my workout in as usual - Plyo Legs (Disc 31 maybe?) + BC: Core only premix. Man I love those plyo leg workouts! I know I say that every week. :D

Well, DH has had a welt/blister on his upper thigh/groin area for the past couple of days. Last night it burst sending blood and pus everywhere (TMI - sorry). Of course he went to the doctor first thing this morning and found out it is an abscess that is spreading throughout his leg. Needless to say we've spent most of the morning at the doctor's office and pharmacy. I decided to just stay home with him today. I know he can probably take care of himself but he's having a hard time walking and I just felt bad leaving him.

Bridget: Loving your attitude lady! High Step Challenge is such a great workout; I really like the high step workouts too! Ya know, I think the barre and yoga workouts are going to rock. I've never done a barre workout but I adore ballet so i'm think' i'm gonna like it. SO EXCITED!

Barbara: Yay on the weight loss! I forgot Bridget is also a WW gal and another great role model (actually, I think we have multiple WW gals but I can't keep track :eek: ).

Wendy: So glad to hear you are loving your new equipment! I'm up for a PUB abs challenge (and a challenge it will definitely be :) ). We don't mind a bit that you invited some new groupies! The more the merrier.

Disc 8, done! We've been all over the place lately, it seems, visiting colleges w/my son. He's nowhere near old enough to start applying yet :eek: (only 14yo/9th grade), but since we homeschool, it's best for me to keep up w/what the colleges that he may have interest in will require, so that I can tailor his curriculum to it ;) I figure if I set the bar for the school that has the most stringent requirements, then even if he doesn't quite make it for those, he'll be a shoe-in for the other options, lol. :confused: Let's hope my theory pans out :p

Bridget: I am actually really excited for the barre and yoga wo's too, which is extremely odd for me. I think the whole Achilles nightmare has changed my outlook on some things. :confused: I only have the one high step workout that came w/the high step, but...ummmmm....it was admitted into the cellophane prison :eek:, and hasn't been heard from since. Maybe it'll come out on parole one of these days...

Katie: sorry your honey's having difficulties over there :confused:. Lucky thing he's got you to take care of him (or at least keep him company, if he doesn't feel he needs to be taken care of ;) ) You and your plyo legs :p, I don't even know if I'll be able to do them when the time comes. And Athletic Step? What can I say? It's still in prison w/the rest of 'em :eek:, I'm sure Low Impact Challenge will find a cozy spot next to it when it arrives :rolleyes:

Wendy: Nice w/o. I still don't have Split Sessions, but that premix sounds great. I'll be looking into that one once I finish STS and crave the shorter wo's again ;) Girl, don't sleep on the Kickboxing wo's!!! I LOVE me some KB. :eek: Loving all the equipment reviews, keep 'em comin :cool:

Barb, congrats on the weight loss!! I would be extremely happy about that!! I'm not attending meetings right now, but I'm still following the program. I will be weighing in on Saturday.

Kris, did you join me for ab work this am?

Bridget, I haven't done High step challenge in a while, I need to dust that one off. I agree a gain of less than a pound is nothing to worry about.

Wendy, I almost ordered the dip station today, but I stopped to look for a coupon, when I shop online I always try to find a discount coupon. I didn't find one so I'll probably end up ordering it soon anyway.

Good job Kiki, I'm doing disc 9 tonight.

Katie, hope your husband gets well soon!!
