STS Body Rockers - Week of November 20th

Happy Thanksgiving Girls!
I went ahead and started Meso 1 Week 3 with Disc 7. Pushup Hades! I can't believe how many sets are in this disc! I did them, but I might sub in some chest presses on flat and/or incline bench. I need to think about it.

I did ok on my Thanksgiving eating today. I'm not really a Thanksgiving eater, but I do like ham and a baked sweet potato! I did, however, bake some chocolate chip cookies with my 8 year old dd, Lucy, and I ate a few more than I needed. Let's just say that's why I went ahead and started my Week 3... I want to do my new Intensity dvd tomorrow. I really like the looks of it.

I'm thinking my next Cathe order will by Lower Body Blast and HiiT. I'm thinking of getting some of the Imaxes. I remember enjoying Interval Max years ago. I'd like to try it again.

If you are Black Friday shopping tomorrow, stay safe and I hope you get some good deals.

Lesia

Happy Thanksgiving all

This morning, did Athletic Training- it was my first time doing this one, it was tough, but it moved quickly. My HR stayed up there for the first 45minutes or so- my tubing snapped before I got started, modified with the bands- have to put new tubing on my Christmas list!

Had my in-laws over- they left by 2pm, and I was busy entertaining that I didn't eat much- yet still really full from what I did eat! Had lots of veggies available, made my own cranberry sauce (very easy) with low sugar and was very good- and a sweet potato cranberry dish that everyone loved from WW. Wasn't even tempted by the scallops wrapped in bacon.

I have to work tomorrow so no black friday shopping for me. Already signed up for spinning in the morning

Wiggie- I haven't done CSS yet, maybe I can schedule that one for Saturday

Leisa- LOVE the Imaxes- they aren't too difficult to learn, but they really make you sweat!

Wendy- Awesome Pre-turkey workout. I have the downloads, and don't have the premix info yet to "make" my own premix.

Kris- I agree, AT was tough- I think AB is a bit harder- and really leaves an after burn in my buttocks- ouch!

Erin- I love Target. Great to do legs on Tgiving day- help burn off all the calories consumed...

Wiggie- I have never heard hip hop or rap in my spin classes- my instructor is more into rock & roll, especially 70's & 80's stuff. Jethro Tull is kind of weird to spin to, but there we are. We have a different instructor tomorrow, I may stand corrected after then

Hello Kiki, Katie, Barbara, Terena, Erin

Good Morning...well not for me since I'm at work :( but hopefully for the rest of you!

This morning's work out was a BR called Abs Now that was a time challenge and it went like this::

*Lunge Back & Press Up-50 reps
*Super Girl Plank-50 reps
*Sumo Squat-50 reps
*Reptile Plank-50 reps
*Jump Lunge-50 reps
*Santana Plank-50 reps
*Jump Forward and 2 jumps back-50 reps
*Mini Squats-50 reps

This took me about 20 mins to complete but then I added on

*Jump Rope-50 reps
*Knee and leg raises on the dip station-50 reps

which brought me to a 25 minute work out. :D

That's all for now...I'll post more later if anyone shows up today....:p

Intensity

This afternoon I'm going to tackle the Intensity dvd. I just recieved it from Cathe.com and I'm excited to try something new.

Tomorrow I will tackle STS Disc 8 Back & Triceps.

Have a great day everyone.

Lesia

Hi there everyone,

I'm bummed because my right calf is still sore :( Figured I probably need to rest it, doing the ice, NSAIDs and elevating too. Dang, hate to have something get in the way of working out, but thinking if I don't rest it, I may injure it further:( I may switch things around and do an UB workout later or tomorrow for sure.

Lesia - hope you love Intensity, that's a great one!

Wendy - great BR workout! THat's alot to get done in 25 minutes!

Bridget - great job with AT! Way to go on your Thanksgiving, you did great!

Wiggie - great job with CSS! I love this series too! And coffee on that balcony sounds awesome!

Hi Terina, Katie, Kiki and Erin!

Hope you all have a great day,

Kris

Hi gals!

Wow, you all got in some great workouts yesterday. Now i'm feeling kinda guilty...all I did was drivemax, cookmax, eatmax, and sleepmax. :D

Thanksgiving was, um, interesting to say the least. The plan was for my immediate family to go to my parent's house for T-day. The town where my DH and I work is directly between where we live and my parents' house, so we went up Wednesday after work. So, about 3:00 am the electricity goes off. No worries. It'll come back on soon, right? At 7:30 am, we call the electric company who tells us the electricity will be back on between 8:00 and 8:30 am. Okay, that's fine. I'm having coffee withdrawals already, but i'll survive. At 9:00 am, no power, so we call again. This time the electric company tells us they ran into problems, and it will probably be another 2 hours. Um, PANIC! We always do Thanksgiving "lunch" so my sister and I can go to our respective in-laws for dinner. Long story short (kinda), we pack up all the food, throw the turkey into a 5 gallon bucket, grab the dogs and drive like bats out of hell to my house which is about 50 minutes from my parents. At least my house was KINDA clean from the homevisit last week. I ended up doing most of the cooking, which I didn't mind really because I love to cook, I just wasn't planning on cooking so it kinda threw me off my game. Luckily nothing burned and the turkey was delicious. I'm actually making turkey stock out of the leftover bones/carcass. I know it sounds gross, but it's delicious to use in soup, stews, etc.

Anyway, so I did finally sneak in a workout this afternoon: Imax 2 + Abs from C&W. It felt great! At first my muscles and joints were like "what fresh hell is this" when I started all the high impact but they quickly adjusted. :D

Kris: Aww i'm so sorry to hear about your calf! Smart idea to rest it though. Fingers crossed it heals soon! I think substituting an UB workout tomorrow is a great idea. You still get in a workout, but your calf is able to rest. :) Take it easy tonight!

Lesia: Can't wait to hear what you think about Intensity. It is tough stuff, but I love it nonetheless!

Wendy: Work?? That's verboten! Great BR workout this morning though! I'm bookmarking that one for future reference. ;) I'm adding CSS Extreme Premix to my list of workouts to try too. Your rave review convinced me! :)

Bridget: Great job with AT! That might be my favorite from the new series. How frustrating that your tubbing snapped. Nice job staying under control yesterday. I have to admit, I ate one HEAPING plate with all my favorites (plus dessert...twice...) but I was so full I didn't eat dinner, so maybe it all balanced out? :D

Wiggie: Nice job sneaking in CSS yesterday! Even though i'm in a size 4 pants, i'm really not that small, i'm just realllllllllyyyyyyyyy short. :p Coffee on the balcony sounds AMAZING! I'm so jealous. :p I hope you're having a fabulous time at Myrtle Beach!

Erin: How was Disc 17? Feeling the DOMS? :p

Hi Kiki, Barb, and Terina! Sorry if I missed anyone!

Katie

Spinning this morning- only 5 of us in class today, and a different instructor. She started with some Stevie Wonder, and then some bizarre 60's flower child song, then Black Eyed Peas & Lady Gaga- unlike the Zepplin or Cult my usual instructor plays- it was all good.

Left my phone at work for the weekend, so my downloaded workouts are out of the question- grrr. Perhaps a 4day split for tomorrow morning??

Katie- Talk about a thanksgiving adventure- could have been a nightmare, but was a happy ending. It's one you won't soon forget! Hope the size 4 pants have an elastic waistband!

Kris- There is always time to make up for the workouts you aren't doing while you calf rehabilitates, otherwise you'll be miserable.

Leisa- Intensity is truly intense, but a great workout- bring a towel!

Wendy- I admire your brief but intense BR workouts- that's one way to earn activity points.

Hey Wiggie, Erin, Kiki, Barb & Terena

There are a lot of leftovers in my fridge.

Bridget

Happy Saturday everyone,

I rested yesterday, but did TBT UB today to get my calf some rest but get in a good workout - I went heavier with the weights than I had before:) . My calf seems to be quite a bit better today, hopefully tomorrow will be 100%:)

Hi Katie - way to improvise on Thanksgiving! And got in a great workout - Imax 2 - tough one!

Hi Bridget - glad Spinning was fun, probably mixes it up when there's a different instructor huh? Seems like the different music would make a big difference.

Hi Terina, Wendy, Wiggie, Erin, Lesia and Kiki!

Hope you all have fun plans for the rest of the weekend,

Kris

Happy Saturday all

4DS lower impact step- haven't done this in many months, and was not as fit at that time and remember it kicking me- this time, I was adding impact as it didn't feel intense enough- that feels pretty good! Also, I remember having to do a lot of adapting during the ab workout, abs are not my best part, but I was able to persevere through it, and that felt good too.

This may be one I reach for again on a weak day, can go lighter with the upper body part if needed. I love the music in this series, it really encourages me through the workout, and stays with me through the day.

Tomorrow is a rest day, will be checking in to see how you all are doing as well

Bridget

Hi gals!

Today I did BM2 and it kicked my Kentucky butt! Gee whiz that workout is tough! Not only did I get so hot at one point I stuck my head under the faucet but I also tripped over my step, fell off my ball during decline push-ups (yeah the push ups were that bad today), hit my ankle with a 15# dumb bell, and my right arm collapsed during side planks. I started to feel like I was at the circus instead of working out. ;) I eventually finished the w/o but it wasn't pretty! :D

I'm off to relax and recover because tomorrow I'M doing the butt kicking! Maybe... Kinda... I hope. :)

Katie

Katie- that sounds almost as eventful as your Thanksgiving dinner- but you got it done in spite of everything- good job, BM & BM2 are the toughest workouts that I love
