STS Body Rockers - Week of July 24th!

Good morning - oooohhhh, my poor lower body still today - ouch ouch DOMs. (Gotta love it though ) I did Disc 21 this a.m., thought maybe I would try MMA fusion today, but I think I'm going to give my DOMs the day to move on:)

Katie - Wow! Disc 35!!! Awesome! (And something to look forward to! ) Sorry you're not feeling well, hope you get better soon!

Kiki - Great job with the Kickbox workout - I haven't done any Amy Bentos ones, sounds like a good one! Hope you like the chicken recipe too:)

Wendy - can't wait to hear about your days workout! :)

Hope you all have a great day!

Kris

Hello.

Rest day for me today!

So I've decided to add 1 BP per day to Body Rock for upper body starting tmrw with Pure Strength! Am I crazy? Yay or Nay? :D;):p

Kris:: My worst lower body DOMS has lasted 3 days. YEOWCH! Enjoy the pain! ;)

Kiki:: OMG I think my fave parts of M2 and M3 were the longer rest periods! :D So you have experience with BR!? I didn't know that! Well then you have no excuses girl! :p Just pick up with the next one I do and do it with me!!!! :)

Katie:: I hear ya re:FB. Good to know cause I have a raunchy sense of humor at times. I will be sure not to post anything bad directly to your wall. Wouldn't want anyone to question your morals b/c of me! Everyone is right though! Great pic and you are gaw-geous dahling!!! Love that red hair! I would die for red hair! :D I have tried to dye it but the color falls out in a week or 2. :(

Hey gang,

Forgive my absence for the last few days- I started a new job on Monday, and it is going so well, I think I am going to be very happy there!

I am back in the saddle, gained about 3 lbs on vacation so I am back to my 5am spinning class Monday Wednesday & Friday. I started Meso 2 yesterday, and you are right, it is different. The rest periods weren't bad- they were in lieu of my pause button, I think!
Tomorrow is legs, and in Meso 1, legs were done last disc of the week- this is midweek, and I fear legs, especially after the last 2 leg workouts in Meso 1.

Checking in:
Wendy- are you crazy? I never thought I would enjoy exercising 6 days a week as much as I do- I am crazy too! It is all good though

Kris- I find the DOMS different so far after doing the first Meso 2 disc- this low dull ache in my shoulders and chest- kind of warm, it is sick, but I am starting to enjoy it!

Katie- I hope whatever is ailing you goes away soon. I fear the plyos in M3- I fear the leg workouts in general, that is probably why I need them the most.

Kiki- I am glad you survived the bulldog- my dogs were with their groomer when we were away, I think they liked her better than us- it is like a dog fantasy at her house, she has at least 10 dogs at any time, some foster, some boarded, many hers- and they all are well behaved in her presence- she would have put that bulldog in his place.. Also, glad to hear your ankle is mended, and you are back in the saddle again...

Thank you all for the congrats and the well wishes- it really means a lot to me!

Bridget

Ladies!! I'm happy to report I FINISHED STS!!!!!!!!! WOOT WOOT! I did the last disc (36) this morning. Wow, i'm so proud of myself for sticking with it. I lost about 3-4 pounds but i'm thrilled with that! I lose weight very slowly and the fact that I was able to just to keep losing makes me happy (I was worried I would stall out or gain weight on STS). I think the biggest change i'm noticing in my body is my legs. I've always had a larger lower body and my legs are finally starting to firm up and take shape (even though they've still got a ways to go :) ). More than anything, I think i've gained mental strength. I lifted weights I never thought I could and I pushed myself harder than ever before. It has given me confidence which will hopefully carry over into future workouts.

Bridget: Welcome back! I'm glad the new job is going well!!! I switched jobs about 10 months ago and I remember the fear and stress of starting a new job. I LOVED Meso 2 legs!! They gave me the worst DOMS. :) I know i've probably said this before but go as heavy as possible (the format of the Meso 2 legs allows you to go heavier than you think). Because of the DOMS, I switched the order of the discs so that I did legs right before my rest day (it also made legs the last disc of the week). Don't hesitate to do the same if needed!

Wendy: Awww thanks for the compliment! I used to hate my red hair but now I love it. Plus it makes me easy to find in pictures! :) I've probably told you this before but i've had past hair stylists ask if they can keep locks of my hair so that they can try and match the color. Feel free to post away on my FB wall! It's really not a big deal and i'm not easily offended at all. I mean, as long as you aren't (i) committing a crime, (ii) planning to commit a crime, (iii) or talking about a crime you already committed you're not going to get me in trouble. :) I don't think you're crazy! I'm very intrigued by the idea of doing one body part per day + cardio (or whatever else). However, I would recommend working out close to a couch or other soft spot. Ya know, just in case you need to flop down for a break after those killer BR workouts! :p

Kris: I've written down the chicken recipe and i'm so excited to give it a try this weekend! Great job with Disc 21!! You're flying through STS!! Sadly i've still got this dang chest pain/cough thing going on. Now it is just irritating me. I don't get sick very often and i'm such a baby when I do. Maybe if I whine enough today the judge will just send me home to get me out of his hair! :D

Kiki: I'm glad the scale is cooperating!! ;) November?!?! Okay, that makes me feel better about my "planning" tendencies! :p What rotations do you have planned (in general)? Sadly I STILL haven't hit the "buy" button. I have such a complex trying to buy workout DVDs. I mean, I know if I hate the workout I can always send it back but for some reason I just want to get it right the first time!  Plus I kinda went crazy at a sale at JCrew on Monday so i'm trying to decide if I really need to spend more money. Here's my justification: I just spent WAY to much money on clothes and if I don't buy more workout DVDs I may not be able to fit in those clothes and then all that money I spent will be wasted. Convincing at all???

Hi there everyone!

I did MMA Fusion this a.m. - definitely a different type of workout than I've done before, but I liked it - got a good sweat with it for sure! (I did wear my weighted gloves Wendy:) ) DOMs are better today, that's good, since there were some lunge moves that would have really stung yesterday. Yesterday I did the abs and stretch from High Reps (had to try it after hearing about it on here from you guys:)

Hey Katie! Congratulations!!!!! Awesome job completing STS! Woohooo! How are you going to celebrate? That's great that your legs are shaping up like you'd like! I know what you mean about the confidence gain - you did it, stuck with it, great great job!

Wendy - that looks like a great BR workout for you - I like to work my back - you must have really went for it on PS! Great job! I was having trouble with the website earlier too :(

Bridget - great job getting back into your workout routine - that's not easy for me sometimes after a vacation:eek:

Hope you all have a great day! Today is my birthday, hanging out with my sister and family:)

Kris

Kris:: Glad you liked MMA Fusion. I could never warm up to that particular work out even though I *heart* kickboxing. I finally got rid of it. Yay for the weighted gloves!

Katie:: Fantastic job finishing STS and losing a few pounds to boot!!! IDT I would have lost any weight if not for WW. I guess my eating wasn't very good. It was healthy but just too much food I think. Oh well. So what will you do next? BR perhaps? ;) Nope, not planning on committing a crime soon nor do I plan to "out" myself on your fb wall concerning any past crimes I may have committed. LOL

Bridget:: Coming back from vaca and getting on the scale can be scarey but as long as you get right back to business, the damage is usually only temporary and can be dealt with quickly. :) That ofcourse does not mean that we can't complain about it in the meantime! ;):D

I think that catches me up!

TTFN!

Happy Birthday Kris!!!!!!! I hope you are having a fantastic, relaxed, wonderful day hanging out with your sis and family! :) Any particular birthday celebration plans? I always request a huge honkin cupcake and a BIG glass of wine!

How does one find a HONKIN' cupcake? Are you sure it's the cupcake that HONKS or YOU that HONKS after you eat it? :p:D;)

YES! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRIS! I missed that it was your B'day but I'm wishin' ya the bestest B'day ever now!!!! Better late then never right? ;)

Hey ladies! I couldn't get on the site every time earlier when I came on to do personals  , so I just wanted to pop in via phone before heading of to dreamland. Today was MMA boxing and the STS Extended Stretch.

Kris: Happy bday! Hope you're having a good day!

Katie: congrats on finishing STS! Woohoo! It's funny about you enjoying planning your rotations, because I'm pretty sure I've downloaded a few of yours over the years, lol. This months rotation for me is S&H the first week, PS next week, then GS, and 4DS the following weeks. Lots of kickboxing in between, probably no step, lol (@least not until I get to the 4DS week w/ HIS & LIS  )

Wendy: I think you'll do great on your BR/PS rotation. I've got PS on tap for next week too, so I guess great minds think alike ;)

Good night all! Hope the site's running smooth in the AM...

I am lying in bed, posting this because I have blown off my 5am spinning class. I am dressed (put on my workout clothes to sleep in) and awake, just cannot do it. I went to a 50th birthday party yesterday (happy birthday btw Kris!) ate poorly, got home a bit late, and am really achy from legs yesterday, and the little voice in my head told me to stay in bed. This is the first time I blew off a spin class, and given that I have been faithful for the last 2 months, I think I am due!

Did disc 14? yesterday- legs, and it wasn't bad to do, and flew by quickly but I do ache.

Wendy- I have never thrown up during a workout, that would not be an incentive for me to keep doing, especially today!

Katie- Congrats on finishing STS! What do you do to celebrate? I think I will heed your advice on doing legs on my last day, before the rest day next week. I could have gone heavier, but woosed out- especially with the paper plate moves-ugh!

Kris- I have to search the archives to find this chicken recipe that everyone is raving about!

Kiki- was the site down yesterday?

Happy Friday everyone

Bridget

Ok, obviously something is still wrong with the site...because on the main page, it shows that there was a post by Bridget @ 6:07 am on today (the 29th) yet, when I click on it, all I see is my post from last night?

Good Morning.

Oh my poor aching inner thighs and traps! Ok, that's enough b*tchin' :p..onto this morning's work out! :D

1) PS Warm Up + Biceps
2) BODYROCK.tv | Fitness Advice, Workout Videos, Health & Fitness | Bodyrock.tv
3) 10 minutes of jump rope
4) STS Extended Stretch
5) Fall down on the floor in a puddle of sweaty limp mush! :p

WW weigh in this moring: Down 1.4 pounds from last week (this seems like a lot to me but I won't argue!)! Only 1 pound left to get to goal! :D TERRIFIED of maintenence though!!!!

Kiki:: Site was wiggin' out a bit on me this morning from home but seems to be ok right now. *knock on wood* I like PS because the work outs all clock in at under an hour so using it for 1BP is perfect when you have a million other things you want to do as well-see above!!! ;)

Bridget:: Everyone takes an unscheduled rest from a work out now and then. Glad you listened to your body. As for puking, I didn't really puke. Jut felt a bit queasey for a while...:p

BBL!

Ok I see the other posts now (from my phone, so idk how things are lookin from my PC). Today was S&H:TB, and though I was tempted to skip abs @ the end (I was just ready to be done!), I didn't. ;). Since I woke up this AM, I've been feeling that familiar twinge in the Achiiles :( , maybe it was too soon for the jumping in yesterday's MMA w/o? Tomorrow is my scheduled rest day, & I didn't do any leg intense action today, so I'll see how the rest does me by Sunday and plan my w/o's accordingly. If I'm still having pain, I think I'm just gonna have to move to an intense upper body rotation for at least a month, and just really give up on certain types of exercises for a while (lunges, calf raises, jumping, etc). By then, maybe the Low Impact series will be here, & I can mess around with those as well.

Wendy: rockin it out! I love the mish mosh, do you just put that together this AM? You are way too comprehensive @ 5am, lol :p

Bridget: good for you, listening to your body ;). It's when we don't that gets us in trouble. I'm taking a cue from you on that one, I do not wanna risk any further injury, by not doing what I could do to try to prevent it. Plus, we all know that you'll be right back on that bike come next class :D

Thanks Kiki. No, I can't say that I put this morning's work out together at the drop of a hat at 5am. It had pre-planned my work out to the extent that I knew I was doing BR and Biceps which were the most important to-do's for the day. I also knew that I would do the JR'ing for extra cardio if I had time and while wincing in pain during PS and BR I decided I needed a good stretch too! :p Sorry your achillies is twinging again! Poor thing! :( My right elbow yells at me quite often these days. BOOH. I haven't done an S&H work out in ages but I DO use the ab work periodically. ;)

Hi there ladies! :)

Thanks for the birthday wishes:) - it was a nice nice day! We went out to dinner last night - shared a sandwich with my mom - so didn't overdo there, but then did have a cocktail and we (4 of us) shared a birthday dessert - bread pudding with a caramel sauce

Today, I had a rest day, worked out good since my sister was leaving today. Back to STS tomorrow, week 4 of Meso 2, can't believe it!

Kiki - so sorry you're feeling your ankle again! :( Your plan to focus on UB sounds like a good one, hopefully you'll get all healed soon.

Katie - yum, a honkin cupcake sounds good! :) Thanks for the birthday wishes - my sister and I had a good day!

Bridget - gotta listen to your body for sure, don't beat yourself up for taking a day off:)

Wendy - wow! Great workout for you today! Congratulations on the weight loss on weigh in! :) Yay!

So, my sister is very much not into exercise, but we got to talking about it while she was here and she said she was looking to do something - so I gave her my Basic Step and the Low Impact Step and Stretch from Cathe - I hope she gets into it - would be awesome to have her on board (I'm already thinking it would be cool to have her to go on a Road trip with  )

Hope you all have a great night!

Kris

Good morning ladies! I was a lazy bum yesterday (it was my rest day). I only worked a 1/2 day and spent the rest of the day laying on the couch. :D I even napped a bit and i'm not a napper. I'm still not 100% better but i'm on the mend. My chest isn't hurting as bad but i've got an awful, gross sounding cough. Thanks so much for all your well-wishes. They are much appreciated!!

I haven't decided what I want to do today - workout wise. I'm actually thinking about working out live with Cathe. I've been watching the NJ road trip classes live on facebook. The next class is bootcamp at 10:15 so, i'm thinking of hooking up my computer to my tv and trying to workout with the group. If that doesn't happen, i'll probably toss in Rythmic step.

Kris: I'm so glad to hear you had a wonderful birthday! I hope your sister falls in love with Cathe! I've got a friend that i'm trying to get hooked too. I even told her i'd buy her Butts & Guts as a belated bday present.

Kiki: Awww I hate that your Achilles is twinging again. Not good. I do agree that maybe an intense upper body rotation would be a good idea. Definitely do NOT want you to re-injure your achilles! I"m getting sooo excited about the new low impact series (which is one of the reasons i'm watching the live roadtrip classes - it's giving me a sneak peek :) ).

Wendy: YAY on the weight loss! That's fantastic! I'm thinking I might need to give this weight watchers thing a try.... i'm putting it on my maybe list! ;) I love the workout mish-mosh you put together yesterday! I added it to my future workout list. My list is starting to get a little long. :) I tried to find a picture of a "honkin' cupcake" but sadly google didn't deliver. :D lol! Maybe that's a southern term - honkin' truck, honkin' butt, etc. It basically means HUGE. :p

Bridget: No worries about skipping your spinning class. It sounds like you rarely, if ever, skip out and it's smart to listen to your body and take a break when needed! I'm not sure how i'm going to celebrate the end of STS...I did just drop a bunch of money on some new clothes so I guess that's my celebration! LOL The good news is i'm down a pant size, so i'm thrilled.

Happy Saturday ladies!

I did Disc 22 this a.m. - definitely went to failure, the rest breaks went fast this one - the whole workout did with all those drop sets (and pushups are back!) I did 4DS BC Cardio afterward (for a few more pushups...lol).

Hi Katie - I'll have to check out the road trip classes today for sure - thanks for the tip! Good for you for taking it easy yesterday - got to do that sometimes. Hope you're back to 100% soon! That's a awesome way to celebrate finishing STS - new smaller pants - woohoooo!

Hi Kiki, Bridget and Wendy - hope you're all having a great day!

Talk to you later - have a great day!

Kris

Good Morning Girls!

So yesterday we went to a pool party. Had a great time! Spent 8 hours eating and drinking and lazing around outside and now I am paying for it this morning ofcourse. I'm tired and fat now. :( Gained 4# overnight. Gotta love it. I know it's just bloat that will go away but it's still super annoying. K, I'm done complaining now. :p

Yesterday's work out was PS Chest and Step Moves.

Today will be PS Shoulders + cardio and possibly abs as well.

Katie:: I feel like I should be "honkin'" right now after all the crap I ate and drank y'day! Hope you are feeling better today!!!!! I think WW is well worth the money. A fantastic program for sure! I say with out hesitation that you should give a shot. It changed my eating, my life and my body for the better! :)

Kris:: Good job on disc 22!!! :D I feel a lot stronger doing push ups since finishing STS! Body Rock LOVES push ups and I am able to do them all on my toes! I may slow down speed wise but I haven't had to drop to my knees....YET!

Guess that's all for now...BBL or tmrw!
