STS Body Rockers week of April Fools

Zbridget

Cathlete
Hello Body Rockers!

Starting a new thread- last Friday, went spinning in the morning, worked all day, then went back to the Y with dd for a swim. DD was loaded with energy, she was the only reason I went, I was beat- and wanted to go to bed. I didn't get too much done, I went through the motions, but dd loved it!

Today, I purchased my first pair of spinning shoes! I also test drove a bike at the bike shop, and perhaps there is a real bicycle in my future- I haven't had one since I was a teen- it was a 10 speed (they don't make them anymore!) it came from Sears- my dad assembled it in the living room.

Wendy- happy birthday to your niece- may your unemployed days be filled with activities that are fulfilling to you.

Wiggie- woo hoo for your conference in Myrtle Beach- I have a few coming up too. Good for you for finding the travel friendly workouts-

Easter is coming up soon, I have so much to do to be ready

Bridget

Happy Sunday!!

Sorry i've been MIA the past few days. I've got a C.R.A.Z.Y. case i'm working on at work that kept me away from here at the end of last week and then i've had a crazy busy weekend. Saturday UK played in the Final Four and we WON (beating another Kentucky team - Louisville). WOOHOO! We play in the championship game tomorrow night. Can I get a GO CATS?!?! :p

Easter is at my house on Saturday so i've been cleaning all day in preparation. I know i've got a week, but the house needed a spring cleaning any way. I started today cleaning out the fridge/freezer (as in turned it off, took everything out, scrubbed for over an hour, re-assembled). I hate cleaning.

Anyway, last Thursday I did STS legs, rested on Friday, yesterday was RapidFire Results (skipping the weight segment) and today was a pilates/yoga mix consisting of Ellen Barrett's superslim pilates workout (found on Netflix, perfect for an active recovery week) + Yoga Booty Ballet (yoga, abs, stretch) + 60 push-ups (three sets of 20). Good grief that was one long sentence, lol!

Bridget: Awww how sweet of you to take DD back to the gym when you were tired. I hope I have your selfless attitude when I get a little one of my own. :) Congrats on the weight loss! You are doing so well!! Ooohhh if you end up getting a bike make sure you post all the details. ;) My BF is *trying* to talk me into a mini triathalon next spring, and if I decide to commit, i'm gonna need a bike.

Wendy: LOL @ you having the wrong date for your unemployment conference call! You poor thing. :) I LOVE Friday's mish-mosh! You always come up with the best mixings. Smart to let your shoulder rest yesterday. No injuries please! ;) How are your abs feeling today? Sore (I hope :p)?

Wiggie: Hope you have a wonderful time at the conference! LOL @ the name of the DVD series you bought. Can't wait to hear your thoughts about it!

Morning!

I'm enjoying my active recovery week so I started off today with Yoga Booty Ballet: Advanced. I used to love the YBB workouts. Still do actually. :) I feel silly because I can't dance at all so i'm just swinging and jumping around my living room like a loon. It's nice, though, to move a bit and work up a little sweat without feeling like i'm beating up my body. :) I'm cutting my recovery week short (tomorrow is my last day) to participate in a HiiT 40/20 challenge on Thursday. Anyone else in??

Hello Ladies. Happy Monday!:p

Y'day's work out was the first 45 minutes of Yoga X. Still a goody!:)

Today was X-Train Fit: Cardio (54 min of basic but butt whooping drills!:D) + all of Yoga Relax. I was supposed to only do 15-20 minutes of YR but it felt really good so I just kept on going! :)

Bridget:: What an awesome mom you are- going to the Y for a swim even when you didn't want to just so you could make your DD happy! I am doing things with my DS these days that I really couldn't do when I was working. Great to see the excitement and that smile on his face! :)

Katie:: I have some dancing yogi dvd (not YBB) that I used to fool around with. Haven't done it in a while but seeing as how I am back into yoga and you are talking about how much you like YBB, I may have to pull it out and dust it off one of these days! :D I was always curious about YBB but it's one of the few I never caved on and purchased. DO NOT enable me now please! I am unemployed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p Nice work outs! So what's the HiiT 40/20 challenge? Anything more involved then simply doing the work out?? My abs were sore y'day but pretty much recovered today. They actually weren't nearly as sore as I expected them to be though!

Guess that's about all for now...I need to find my way OFF this dang computer so that I can get some housework done! It's late and I haven' done anything but put a load of laundry in!!!

BBL or tmrw!

Good morning All!!

Back from Myrtle Beach :(, my workout Saturday was a 20 minute run at their gym & 20 minutes on the stair climber. We went to a seafood buffet, needless to say didn’t count points. Later that evening I did 2 of my Mama Wants workouts. Sunday I did Cardio Strength & later I did Step 2 Success by Rebecca Small. My 6 week membership at WW has expired so I will have to rejoin. So for now I'll weigh myself on Fridays.

Katie, I kinda like the workouts, they are 20 minutes long, & have 3 levels. If you stay at level 3 you can get a pretty good workout. She does 1 minute cardio, 1 minute strength & 1 minute abs. This is repeated 5 times. What is this 40/20 challenge? Go Cats!!

Bridget, so sweet of you to take your DD swimming, & then swim yourself after a spin class!! My husband & I have bikes, the old fashioned kind. Now that the weather is nice, we sometimes ride in the afternoon.

Wendy, glad you are enjoying your life of leisure!! :p So you like X-Train Fit, keep the reviews coming!!

Have a great day!!

KENTUCKY WINS!! Woohoo!!! C.A.T.S. Cats, Cats, Cats!

okay, enough of that, lol! I'm one tired puppy this morning. Of course I stayed waaaayyyy to late watching the game. I barely drug myself out of bed this morning to workout. I ended up doing Jennifer Gilardi's Hip-Hop Dance Party. Wow. There's a reason i'm a lawyer. I can't dance at all!

Wendy: You are going to be one flexible little lady soon with all that yoga. ;) Nice job!! Speaking of yoga, remember my "I don't really like yoga" rant last week? Well, now i'm thinking about buying a groupon to attend 5 yoga classes at a loca yoga studio. I'm such a dork. I don't *think* Yoga Booty Ballet is worth your money. I mean, it is fun, but it's really not tough at all. I think you'd be disappointed (see, i'm DISABLING instead of ENABLING...okay that makes it sound like i'm breaking your fingers so you can't click the buy button or something, HAHA). If anything, just get the basic Yoga Booty Ballet workout and not the cardio/live DVDs.

Wiggie: Excellent workouts this past weekend! Glad you are liking your new ones. :) The 40/20 challenge is just doing 40/20 on Thursday, lol! Another Cathlete friend who is a cardio queen has, thus far, refused to try 40/20 because she's afraid it's to hard. So we've decided to rally the troops and all torture ourselves with 40/20 on Thursday. :p ;)

Good morning All!!

Monday's workout was Power Hour, an oldie but goodie!!

Katie, I will join you ladies on Thursday!!! Congrats to your Wildcats!!! :D

Have a great day All!!

Spinning yesterday in my stylin new shoes with the cleats on the bottom, a bit of a learning curve to get used to locking them into the pedals, but had a great class afterwards.

Swim class was last night- only one other classmate- who pretty much had the instructor- that was okay, I've reached the point where what I really need to work on at this point is endurance- much different in the water than in a step class or on the spin bike. My shoulders & back have a nice dull ache in them.

Thinking about taking DD to the Y tonight for a dip- work on my endurance while she does circles around me. Wears her out, makes her happy too. We'll see how her homework looks when she gets home.

Katie- you make me laugh- up all night rooting for your team, yet still getting in your morning workout- Hip Hop Dance party, when you say you cannot dance at all, picturing Elaine from the Seinfeld show.

Wiggie- ooo Power hour, that's an oldie but goodie- should dust that one off..I have to confess I have been lazy with the point counting, may not go in for my weigh in tomorrow- can always go next week, right?

Wendy- how cool that you can do fun things with DS, makes me consider wanting to cut my hours back here, but I have expensive habits like heat, mortgage & food- Take advantage of this time while you can!

Take care all!
Bridget

Hey everyone.

This morning's work out was Bob Harper's work out #2 from his super burn pure strength dvd + yoga from x-train fit. Not nearly as impressed with the yoga as I was with the cardio from x-train. Oh well. Can't win em all! :p

Just made 2 beauty appointments...One for me and one for my dog. LOL My dog goes first, today at 1pm for a grooming. I get to go for hi/lo lights and a cut tmrw, bright n early at 8:30am. We will be a matching pair of beauties by 10am tmrw morning! ;):p I need to make a nail appointment too but that will likely be next week sometime.

Katie:: Hope you enjoy those yoga classes if you decide to take them! Great way to see if you'll like it with little risk! I plan on being in on the 40/20 challenge on Thursday as well even though it just might kill me! Keep reminding me so I don't forget tho!

Wiggie:: PH is a good burner for sure! Nice work!

Bridget:: Sorry those pesky things like a mortgage and such keep you from cutting your hours back at work. I would love to convince my DH that I should work only part time myself from now on but I'm not so sure I will be able to convince him!;):p:D Yay for more swimmming!

Gotta head to the groomers and the store now! BBL!

Morning!

Kicked off Meso 3 today with Disc 27 (shoulders/triceps/biceps). I'm doing the discs out of order so that I can hit up DH's friend's home gym on Sundays for the chest/back workout (I don't have heavy enough weights at home). Felt great to be lifting again!

Wiggie: Nice job with Power Hour. I still haven't tried that one (even thougt I bought it a few months ago). Is it like High Reps? Yay, i'm glad you're going to join me in the HiiT 40/20 challenge tomorrow!

Bridget: YAY, spinning is back! ;) Did you take DD to the Y last night? My sister convinced me to join the YMCA, so i'm going to start swimming a bit here and there too. You inspired me. :)

Wendy: Have fun at your hair appointment! I always love the way I feel after a hair cut/style. :) Don't forget about the HiiT 40/20 challenge tomorrow! Knowing you and Wiggie are going to participate too is going to force me to work harder - when I want to quit i'll just picture you too yelling at me. ;)

Spinning this morning- good to spin out all the angst and excess calories! Easter is coming, so much more eating to occur!

Didn't go to the Y last night- not only did DD have homework due, but she had a "zero note" from not doing the homework from the night before. She just got the lead role in a school play the day before, and was so excited to be memerizing her lines, I think she forgot to do her homework. I wasn't too happy with her!

Katie- Meso 3 already? It is humbling how much endurance swimming takes- I can hit the high notes on my HR monitor in a spin class, do a Cathe BM2 workout without minimizing the impact, but suck wind from one or two laps in the pool. Glad to share the swim with you!

Wendy- as long as you don't cross the groomer with the hairdresser you will be all set. I did watch Biggest Loser last night- does that count as a Bob Harper workout?

will check back later

Bridget

Good afternoon All!!

Tuesday's workout was Mama Wants workout 2 & Yoga Relax premix #1.

Bridget, happy spinning!!

Katie, I guess it's similar, I like the music. Glad I joined the challenge, haven't done 40/20 in a while!!

Wendy, enjoy your rest day!! I love getting my hair or nails done. makes me feel pampered.

Have a great day All!!

Hey, I'm back!:)

So thanks to another Cathlete check in friend of mine from another thread I went and peeked in on Bob Harper's new re-designed website and wouldn't ya know that they were practically GIVING away his dvds at $5 a pop so I "forced" myself to buy 5 out of the 6 that I do not already own! Going to be doing a mainly Bob Harper rotation soon I guess! :p I just have to make sure that I keep up with my stretching and yoga!!!! Considering though that Bob's yoga is now my fave, that shouldn't be too difficult!;)

Katie:: The unemployment office just called me! Thought you'd like to know! LOL :p Have fun at the "gym" this weekend! Will anyone be working out with you there? So tmrw it's 40/20 huh? OY. I can feel myself gasping for air already! :D I need to pick something to pair that up with...either weights or yoga...things that make ya go hmmmm...!;) I want to kick out a round of TBTS so maybe I'll just totally anihalate the legs tmrw by doing 40/20 and TBTS LB. What do you think? Sound like a plan?

Bridget:: Yeah I am sure your DD forgot homework amidst the excitement of being picked for a lead roll in the play! How exciting! :D LMAO re crossing the groomer and the hairdresser. Too funny. Nope, sorry-watching them sweat on tv doesn't qualify as a Bob work out! :p

Wiggie:: Nice work outs! How do you like Yoga Relax? I think it's a great stretch!

That's all for now. Probably won't be back til the morning so toodles!

Wendy, thanks for the tip!! Which Bob Harper dvds did you order? I've never tried him, so I figure this is a good time. I thought Yoga Relax felt great!!

Good Morning.

Well today is the day Katie and Wiggie! 40/20 here we come and I'm gasping for air just thinking about it! :p Still not sure what I'll add to it. Now I'm considering JM NMTZ, one of the Insanity Recovery work outs as well as Bob's yoga and TBTS ...Things that make ya go HMMMM! :p

Wiggie:: I already have the 4 disc Inside Out Method Series which is also for sale on Bob's site for cheap so I bought the following--

Kettlebell Cardio Shred
Kettlebell Sculpted Body
Ultimate Cardio Body
Totally Ripped Core
Total Body Transformation

There was only one other DVD for sale there IIRC and it was labeled "beginner" which is the only reason I didn't order it...Although on second thought, maybe I should have! HTH! :)

Morning!!

HiiT 40/20 + Yoga Based Abs DONE! Oh.my.goodness! Because i'm in the middle of my "bulking" cycle i've got way back on the cardio and geez I could REALLY tell during HiiT 40/20. I almost stopped after the first 4 rounds, but I just modified ever so slightly for the next 2 rounds and was able to get back in the game. :)

Wendy: Yay that unemployment called (that is a "yay" right? lol). So I checked out Bob Harper's website and now i'm just dying to buy a DVD. I noticed Bob's "Yoga for Warriors" is only $5.00. Is that the yoga workout you've been doing lately?? I think 40/20 + TBTLB sounds AWESOME! If I had more time this morning I definitely would have done that combo.

Bridget: Congrats on your DD getting the lead in the school play! That's fantastic! :) I'm very excited to start swimming, but a little nervous too.

Wiggie: I've never tried Bob Harper either, but for $5 I figured it was worth a shot. I think i'm going to order: Ultimate Cardio, Inside Out Method: My Workout, Inside Out Method: Yoga for the Warrior, Totally Ripped Core, and Inside Out Method: Body Rev.

I'm back and my w/o is done.

I have a confession to make. I bailed on 40/20 today. Cardio just wasn't in the cards for me today. I'm sorry. :( I didn't feel awesome most of the morning and was unsure if I'd even work out at all so in the end when I decided to attempt a work out I also decided that 40/20 needed to wait another day. I hope you both forgive give me.

So I ended up doing Bob Harper's Butt n Balance work out to start with which is #2 on his cardio dvd (still not sure why this is on the cardio dvd but whatever lol). The focus is on lower body but it has upper body moves as well. It's almost 25 minutes long if you count the warm up so it's short. I picked it because of the length. I was prepared to stop there if I didn't feel well through it or after it was over. Well when that was over I felt fine so I decided to push the upper a bit further since that was my original plan anyway so I did this:

~6 sets each of 5 reps of push ups and 5 reps of reverse push ups. The regular push ups were standard stance for first round, wide for second round and narrow for third and then repeated like that for next 3 sets.

Then I had to add abs so I did this:

~4 sets of 10 reps of dip station abs.

Then ofcourse I couldn't leave out the yoga:

~BH Yoga for the Warrior.

DONE!:D

Sounds like a lot but I think not doing crazy cardio made it much more doable. I will do the cardio tomorrow assuming I won't feel yucky in the morning. I promise! ;) Or maybe, Katie, I will wait one more day and do the 40/20 + TBTLB combo on Saturday! I worked lower body today with weights so I want to give it a rest before attempting that if I decide to. Either way I will keep up my end of the bargain with 40/20! I promise!:)

Off to shower and make lunch but I'll come back with personals shortly!

Hi Gang

I had a most amazing TRX workout this morning-one of the boot-campers from the Monday class came and did some insane burpee things with an 8lb medicine ball while one leg was suspended in the strap- I attempted a few, they weren't pretty, but I could do them!

I followed up with a 20minute run on the treadmill. I haven't been running in a while, but a friend of mine talked me into doing a 1/2 marathon this September- I need to get back into the swing with running- though I never was a runner- I did a solid 5mph over 20 minutes with wu & cd on the treadmill without walking- If I go that pace for 3 1/4 hours, there is my 1/2 Mary!

Tonight, we have a church function my daughter is altar serving. I told her afterward we could go to the pool before bed

This is the most fit I have felt in ages- I didn't weigh in at WW this week- just wasn't interested in the numbers, I feel great, and I am going with it!

Will check back later tomorrow for personals

Bridget
