Hey Ladies! I'm back!!! We had an absolute fabulous time! I got some serious sun, and the water was perfectly warm at all times. And to top it all off, there was a mix up w/our room when we got there (some conference had all the rooms booked up) and DH began puttin up a huge stink  about how our anniversary trip was being ruined, and he expected the "Ritz" to live up to their name, since he'd specifically picked them, etc.....so they ended up asking if we'd be willing to "settle" for the only room that they had available in order to compensate.....A PRESIDENTIAL SUITE   OMG!!!!!! A suite....AT THE RITZ!!!! Insane! The room was as big as MY HOUSE! seriously. What a wonderful mistake that was.

*sigh*

Back to reality.....

So....what w/o's do you ladies have in store for the new month? I'm planning my w/o calendar today, and actually feel excited about it for the first time in a while. I think the trip really helped me get outta my depressing funk that I'd been in. (that, and the clips from the new series, that I made sure to keep up w/even while on vaca :p )

Welcome back Kiki, and thanks for starting the thread.

Today is my rest day- resting up from the rich, Italian meal last night. Eating like that bothers me now, that is probably a good thing! It was nice to be out on a date night with my dh!

Tomorrow morning, I will attempt Imax3. My spin teacher was out sick today, and when I was signing in for my workout, they told me to call ahead to see if there was class. I need to know what I am doing in the morning, so I have Imax 3 planned- never did it before- I was so pleased with how I did with Imax 2 yesterday I am yearning for it!

Kiki- that's awesome about the room! I'll bet it was fabulous! Any creative achilles friendly workouts while you were away?

Katie- your mish mosh looks brutal, and B&G is one of my all time dread fest workouts. You are woman!

Kris- I love the high step workouts- they remind me of the original Firm workouts with a Cathe flare.

Hi Wendy- doing the sufferfest body rock workout?

I'll be finished with STS after Tuesday, then the challenge will be to find a rotation to fill in the gap- I did really well with this rotation. Hopefully the new series comes out soon and there will be a corresponding rotation to go with it.

Tell me again, what are we supposed to do on a rest week???

Bridget

Hi i just wanted t check in=) I am trying to get started with sts this week. But i have not finished my 1 rm testing yet:( I may go for a run in the morning instead of starting and wait till next week. I really wanted to be fully prepared, pics, measurement ect. But boy am i get really ancy!!! I see you girls are saying bodyrock....do i have fellow bodyrockers here????????????? That would be cool.:p

Good morning ladies!

Today I did Cardio Fusion: All Step Premix. Fun! I enjoyed the low impact section from LIC. It was a nice change from all the high impact. PLUS my tuckus is soooo sore from B&G yesterday. I think I grimaced through most of this morning's workout because I felt every step in the backside (a literal pain in the butt :D :p ).

Erin: Welcome to the group!! We love getting new members. :) I say if you want to start STS this week, go for it!! Pick a weight you feel comfortable with for the exercises you haven't finished your 1RM and go from there. You can plug this "starting weight" into the workout manager and it will calculate your 1RM for each disc from here on out. You can always adjust as you go if you find you need to be lifting heavier or lighter. I was constantly adjusting the first 2-3 weeks and I did 90% of the 1RM. I finished my first STS rotation in....July (I think) and loved my results! At the moment i'm focusing a little more on cardio but plan on starting a second STS rotation in the next 1-2 months.

Kiki: Welcome back!!!!! OMG a PRESIDENTIAL SUITE?!?!?! How awesome is that! Whenever I think of a presidential suite I think of the hotel suite in Pretty Woman - not sure why, it is just always what first comes to mind. I'm so glad you had a great time and it helped get you out of your "fitness funk." What are you planning for this month? I started a modified version of Cathe's March 2010 rotation. It includes "double shot" days (2 workouts at once) that i'm going to try and incorporate on the weekends. I doubt time will let me do 2 full workouts so i'm going to try and do 1 full workout and 1 premix. I'm soooooo excited about the new series! As soon as I get it in my greedy little hands i'm sure i'll use nothing but that for awhile!

Bridget: Honestly B&G has the exact same dread factor for me too. The first time I did the workout (which was probably 8-9 months ago) I literally cried during the floor work because it hurt so much. Luckily my legs have gotten a wee bit stronger now but it is still major tough! I think for your rest week you are supposed to do slightly easier cardio, yoga, stretching, and rest! Really I think anything except for weights - though I always did 1 day of weights at the beginning of my rest week because i'm a rebel like that. :D

Hi Wendy and Kris!/B] I hope you gals had great weekends!

Katie

Hello Ladies.

I was away this weekend so no work out Saturday but I did Grab Your Balls BR y'day before dinner and then this morning I jumped rope for 6 min (500 reps), did 1 round of manmakers from Empire State Kettlebell DVD and last but not least I did the first work out off of the dvd that came with my UGI ball.

Tomorrow should be back to BR!

BBL for personals but want to WELCOME ERIN to the group! Happy to have you! :D

fitmommy..u got a ugi ball! i am soo jealous=) Thats next on my list of things to buy. What size did u get? let me how u like it. I love that u are a bodyrocker too=) Those work outs make me feel cool.
Well i went to the gym today to finish up my 1 rm. I figured i give myself this last week to bang it out. Start next monday, with pics and everthing:cool:

Hi there everyone,

I did Power Max yesterday and today was Muscle Max. I'm loving this rotation so far - really switching it up with all the cardio and focus on circuits (plus the total body workouts too)

Welcome Erin! So glad you're joining us! These ladies are a very motivating bunch you'll find. I finished my first round of STS in early September - I loved it and will definitely be doing it again soon:) Can't wait to hear what you think.

Hi Kiki - welcome back! And woohoo on the presidential suite - how awesome is that! Glad you had a great vacation! I just started the July 2010 Cathe rotation per Katie's suggestion - it's great!

Hi Wendy - sounds like a good mix for your workout (still love the name of that one - lol)

Hi Katie - Great job with the CF premix! And congrats on the DOMS:) Love butt DOMS.

Hi Bridget - How'd IMAX 3 go? That one scares me still, I have it in my plans next week though:eek: Wow - finishing STS tomorrow - awesome job! At the end of STS, I took it a little easier - did cardio, stretching, didn't do any weights for about 5 days I think - :) (I knew I was going to have a "real rest week" when I went on vacation a couple weeks ago - so I started this rotation after that) This July 2010 workout is a nice switch from STS mode - shocks the body good.

Hope you all have a great day, talk to you all later,

Kris

Hey everyone!

I decided to go ahead and kick off Oct. with....STS! :D Yes, I really wanted to play around w/the new stuff before starting, but when I sat down to think about it, the lack of a plan was actually contributing to my "fitness funk" ;). I kept putting everything off, and not doing much of anything, because I kept thinking, "well, when the new series gets here, I'll be able to push harder despite injury" and having to constantly conjure up w/o's day-by-day that would work around the Achilles, was draining, to say the least...

So, I committed to at least doing...something ;) and I feel better already. I just really need to stop thinking about it constantly, lol (you know...the watched pot never boils? ) I still obviously will have some "work-arounds", here & there, but...whatever! I figure I'll just keep doing the w/o's that I have been doing for cardio that (hopefully) won't anger the Achilles monster (which is feeling decent at the moment), along w/STS, and when the new w/o's arrive, it'll just give me that much more motivation because I'll have something to add to the rotation to prevent boredom. I'm hoping that if I keep up w/the lower impact type stuff (new vids, old low-impact faves, or at least non-jumping, crazy pivoting type movements) then hopefully I'll be more than ready for plyo legs by the time M3 rolls around...I guess we'll see

Kris: I didn't even know what Power Max was, lol. Had to go look it up. I always think I have all of the workouts, then I remember that I've refused to buy "certain" ones over the years. That series wouldn't happen to involve a step, at all, would it?

Katie: Yes! I felt like Pretty Woman in that suite (umm...except the whole prostitute thing  ....and Richard Gere was nowhere to be found :p). Every time we walked past the (2!) -insanely priced  - jewelry stores in our hotel, I just kept waiting for DH to go and grab my diamond necklace! :p Good luck w/the double shot w/o's, sounds intense (I personally don't get that intense until the weather warms back up, rofl!)....Also, still praying for ya w/the adoption. DH and I have tried on several occasions, but something always falls through :( , so I understand how ya feel....

Wendy: Nice to see you back in action w/BR again, and I know you are loving your UGI ball! Did you hit the casino's this weekend?

Bridget: Congrats on finishing STS, I can't believe how fast it went. If I recall, when I finished the last round, I took off a few days to stretch/recover/etc and then jumped right into the Get Ready For Summer 2010 rotation (using generic breakdown) that landed me right into the Disney RT. ;) I didn't come up w/too many Achilles friendly w/o's while in PR. Rested mostly. Did some swimming, took a run on the elliptical (they actually had spin classes there that I really wanted to do, but kept missing - they were @ different times everyday  ), I played tennis.... umm....yeah, I know, Achilles nightmare ....

Erin: Welcome to the group!!! We're excited to have you! We're all doing different things right now. I actually finished my last round of STS back in March/April (can't remember which, lol), and this will be my third time around. I just did disc 1 today, so we'll be right around the same place in the program when you start next week ;) You're gonna love it!!

Hey Gang!
I did IMAX3 this morning-I did my best with some of the choreography, and the blasts- could probably have done better if I wasn't so winded during some of the more complex moves, but I did it, and it was fun...I almost stayed in bed, was feeling pretty lazy this morning, but tomorrow is my LAST DAY of STS and I can have a good rest week afterward.

Erin- hello and welcome! I'm not a body rocker, I do know from Wendy that the workouts have intriguing names. I cannot say enough about STS, except, why didn't I do it sooner? This group has been very motivating for me to stay with my fitness, and for a sympathetic ear when I need to whine as well!

Kris- This was my first time doing Imax3- I downloaded it last year, and never felt fit enough to do it. I wasn't pretty doing it, but I liked it. I may take a few weeks off after STS before I start a new rotation- perhaps I can adapt July 2010 to fit in to my plans

Katie- I can promise you that I won't be doing B&G during my rest week. I may break it next Thursday- I have Travel Fit on my iPhone with a cable to play it on TV- I'll be at a conference and have always wanted to do Travel Fit in a hotel room (Cathe fans have such silly fantasies) But I will put the Gauntlet in there sometime after that.

Wendy- Grab your balls (snork!) Can't get enough of your BR names!

Kiki- welcome back to STS! How are you doing it differently this time from times past? I'm already contemplating how I will do it the next time I do it...

Good night

Bridget

Howdy ladies!

This morning I suffered through Imax 2 + abs from HR. I say "suffered" because these crazy butt DOMS from B&G are driving me mad! I had a serious talk with my backside in the midst of Imax 2 because it kept cramping up (especially during blasts 7 and 9 - EEK). :p

Kiki: No Richard Gere? That's disappointing. He should come with the room for sure. At least a look-a-like mannequin! :p YAY so glad you're re-starting STS! That's very exciting. I think you will definitely be able to add in at least some of the new low impact workouts to your STS rotation (the non-lifting ones). Heck, incorporate the lifting ones too if you want - we won't tell! ;) For the STS pyramid, are you doing 1 -2 -3 -2 -1 the normal way (3 workouts a week) or the expedited way (6 workouts a week)? I'm considering starting my next STS rotation in November or December (depending on when the new workouts arrive) and i'm hoping to alter the format slightly. Thanks for your prayers re: the adoption. We need them! It is a very very trying process and we are only in the beginning stages. I know the end result will be worth the effort, time, and tears...but it is going to be a long road. :)

Bridget: Fantastic job with Imax 3!! That is a tough one for sure. The choreography is a little tricky. It took me a few times to get it down. I found Imax 3 has a decent fun factor once you learn the coreography (I think many Catheletes might disagree with me on that assessment though :) ). B&G is definitely NOT a rest week workout. Actually, I think of it has a "once in a blue moon" type workout. :D I love your fantasy of doing Travel Fit in a hotel room! That is a sign of a true Cathlete! :p ;) That's one of the few workouts I don't own, so i'm eager to hear what you think of it!

Erin: What workouts do you have planned prior to starting STS? :)

Wendy: What fun mischief did you get into this past weekend? ;) Oh and how did the ball grabbing go? :D :p So many "ball" jokes and so little time.

Kris: I don't have Power Max either!! What's that one about? I don't think i've even ever heard of it. Clearly I, um, skipped that workout when I was working through the July 2010 rotation. Oops. :D The change is what I liked about the July 2010 rotation too - it is just so different from STS! Are you still having problems with your forearms bothering you? Mine finally quit hurting after 2-3 weeks of full body workouts again.

Katie

Hello Ladies.

I must apologize for my sporadic, unsocial ways here lately. I have a lot of crap going on with me personally and now at work too that is weighing heavily on me. Hopefully as I get closer to the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel of my troubles, I will be able to get back to my old self. I miss being social with you ladies!!! For now I'm just trying to stay a part of the group so y'all don't kick me out! ;):p

Today's work out was BR's 20 min interval cardio work out and UGI w/o #2. Had to omit all cardio drills and most of the abs for time though. Did all other resistance exercises though. Good stuff.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Have a good night!

Decided today this will be my rest week before i start sts either Sunday or monday no if ands or tight butt about it lol! My back is bothering me so that just sealed the deal for me today. I was doing BR with some full body wo from cathe at the gym: high reps, power hour ect. HAve a good one ladies:D

Completed STS today!
I am so thrilled- I never have been so successful with a rotation before. I didn't really rock the scale, but my sweatpants are loose, my bras are on the closest hook, and my belt on the tightest hole! I need to get some new underwear!

I am really looking forward to the rest week- starting tomorrow, sleeping in on purpose!

Erin- just go for it- you can't go wrong with STS

Wendy- I am sorry about the issues stealing the joy from your life. Hope those things blow over soon...

Katie- Love IMAX2- I can sing the Pina Collata song all day long after doing it!

Kiki- by pyramid do you mean Mesos 1-2-3-2-1? I may do a 6 month rotation- perhaps starting in the new year...

Hi Kris!

Bridget

Hi there ladies!

I did Hiit 40/20 this a.m. - yikes! I think I only did that one once before, when I first got the dvd, because I thought that must be the easiest since it's first on the dvd menu... wrong! lol. Got some DOMS today - low and upper body - so it really was tough, but got it done (with some modifications to step height - can't lie:)

Bridget - Woo hoo on completing STS! Awesome job! Enjoy your recovery week! Love the progress seen with clothes regardless of scale! Wooo hooooo! Love the hotel plan with Travel fit - I did that one time on a business trip - felt pretty cool:)

Erin - can't wait to hear what you think of STS.

Wendy - great job getting a workout in - so sorry you're having a bunch of stuff going on, hope all gets better soon!

Katie - Great workout with IMAX 2! I hear you with the DOMS suffering - hope all is good soon. Power Max is from Cardio Hits - one of those with the thong leotard and all - - but it was on the rotation, so I had to comply  Forearms are stinging a little today from Muscle max yesterday - getting better though.

Kiki - Woo hoo on the STS plan! You've been so motivating to me with STS and all my workouts, so glad you're feeling better and getting back in it! :)

Hope you all have a great night!

Kris

Morning Ladies.

Thanks for the well wishes. I am trying...Things will not be this way forever and I just keep that in the back of my mind...

Today's work out was Tonique Premier Lunge Segment. Wanted to do BR since she posted a new schedule for the week but I didn't end up having the time to prepare for it. Oh well. Maybe tmrw. I also want to finish up the UGI ball work outs asap. So much to do! :)

Kris:: OMG 40/20 is incredibly hard!!!! Good job gettin' it done! I rarely do it. ;)

Bridget:: Congrats on finishing STS! It's quite the sense of accomplishment, isn't it? :)

Hey girls! Yesterday was 4DS-KB (cardio only premix)

Erin: Sorry to hear about your back buggin you. You're smart to go ahead and rest up before kicking things into gear next week. Cuz once you get started, it's ALL OR NOTHING  (for at least 4 weeks :p) Plus, you seriously need the support of that core during Meso 1, so definitely wise to be at peak ;)

Kris: Good to hear from you! Nice job on the 40/20. I'm gonna be honest here, and say that I've never done any hiit other than 30/30  , lol. But, my DS has done them all (he's the brave one around here  ), trying to gear up for his (hopefully) upcoming basketball season. He tried pyramid for the first time on Mon, and was complaining about glute DOMS all day yesterday, ROFL. So, I choose to live vicariously through him (and apparently...you!) right now ;)

Bridget: Yes, for the pyramid I'll be doing 1-2-3-2-1 (this will be my longest rotation...ever...wish me luck in sticking w/it, lol). Oh, and.....CONGRATS AGAIN!!!! Isn't it such an amazing accomplishment to finish STS? And as much as I hate to say I told you so....(ok, who am I kidding, I love to say it!!! :p) ..... I told you that you'd LOVE YOURSELF for diving in ;) . I'm the same as you w/regards to the scale. I weigh almost the same as I did when I did my very first round of STS, but with each round, I still find the need to purchase newer, smaller clothes (and underwear!) It's so crazy, because I honestly never thought that I'd be happy at my current weight, but the mirror/clothes don't lie I am a MUCH smaller person. I'm buying clothes sizes now, that I didn't think would ever fit me as a grown woman (high school sizes ;) ). So...scale or no scale...I'll take the body re-composition ALL DAY

Katie: Yep, I'm doing 1-2-3-2-1 (the normal way...6x's a wk?! Do you think I'm crazy?!, lol - You KNOW how easy it is for me to overtrain  , no way I'm chancing it ;) ) and hopefully adding in the new (cardio) w/o's as they arrive. Who knows? I may add in one of the full body w/o's in here or there if I get the urge. But for now, I'm taking it slow w/the Achilles (it's feeling SO good, that I have to resist the urge to go too fast too soon, you know how I get  ...all or nothing, lol) Maybe you'll catch me on the pyramid down if you start by Nov/Dec and we'll meet in the middle somewhere and actually get a chance to do the program together.

Wendy: I hope things get better for ya over there, lady. We miss you, and you KNOW that you couldn't get kicked outta here if you tried, lol :p

Enjoy your Wednesday, ladies! We're THAT much closer to the weekend :D

Hello!

This morning's workout was BC: warm-up and cardio sections + BM2: upper body, abs, and stretch. Oh ladies I have to admit I think i'm starting to burn out a little bit. I'm not sure what my problem is but I feel like i'm struggling through every workout lately and my eating has gone to crap. I'm not sure what I need to do to pull it all together. Maybe a week off completely? I'm kinda hoping the new workouts provide an inspirational kick-in-the-butt.

Wendy: awww girl i'm so sorry to hear things are rough at the moment. :( Of course we'd NEVER kick you out! It wouldn't be the same around here without you. Just do what you gotta do and know we are here if you need to vent, talk, etc.

Erin: Get pumped for STS! It is going to be one hell of a ride. ;) :p I'm hoping to start another rotation in the next 1-2 months so hopefully we can do part of the program together!

Bridget CONGRATS on finishing STS!!!! You should be extremely proud of yourself! Any celebration plans? Sounds like a little shopping is in your future. ;) This might be TMI but i've had the same problem with my "unmentionables" no longer fitting. I have one particular pair of underwear that stretched when my bum reached its maximum mountain size last year and now are so loose they have literally fallen off during high impact cardio. I thought my DH would never quit laughing when he saw me jumping around with my underwear hanging loose (caught by my shorts) and flapping around.

Kris: HiiT 40/20 WITH DOMS?? You are my hero! :p When I recently did 40/20 I had to modify it some too. No shame in that! It just gives us a goal to work towards!

Kiki: Now listen lady you are NOT permitted to over-extend yourself or work out to hard to fast. You WILL ease back into the higher intensity workouts and take extra care of that achilles! Got it? :p I have to admit i'm really glad you're back in the game! We sure missed you around here. It would be awesome to be doing STS at the same time! I'll definitely try to catch ya on the downside (add in appropriate hip-hop hand gesture - okay, I suck at trying to be funny).

Katie: you sound like I felt for the last month...maybe it is burnout. The week of vaca did me a world of difference, maybe you could use a rest week? After a week off, you'll at least be that much closer to getting the new w/o's. Do you log your eats anywhere? We've got a little group of Cathletes over on myfitnesspal and it's giving me quite the kick in the butt, as well. The phone app makes it quite convenient. Just some food for thought (pardon the pun :p )....
