Cathlete
Just getting us started.

I was looking through old Cathe rotations and found one that sparked my interest. It's the Feb 2010 rotation, shorter (less than 50 mins) intense workouts from premixes with one day a week doing a double workout. For the most part I can get a good workout in before work and spend the evenings do family stuff as everyone is free during the summer.

I put ds's loft bed up for sale last night and have got 7 emails about it already. Some one is coming to look at it this morning. He's feeling a little old for a loft bed and we got ds's grandma's double bed for free when she moved into the nursing home in May.

Supposed to be hot and sunny today, so will see what the kids want to do when they get up. Maybe we will head to the beach or something, if they don't want there is lots of errands I can do. DH has to be home this evening as he is going to the Leonard Skynard concert tonight with friends. DS and I are going to the Kenny Chesney concert on Wednesday.

One of my coworkers had to take a sudden leave of absence as her mom is ill. So my manager is asking for volunteers to postpone their summer holidays or for part time staff to increase their hours. I was supposed to work one more week and then have 2 weeks off. I may work partial weeks and just take long weekends.:(:(

Good Sunday morning!

I have missed so much. Other than working nothing has been too exciting here. I haven't done any workouts all week. Just Yoga...my back felt tight but the pain has gone away except for a little catch here and there. So I am thinking about starting with a weight workout tomorrow and just seeing how it goes.

Kim-I am shocked too that they would release the names of that jury in particular...It seems that it has made many people have strong opinions and I would think it might actually put them in danger.
I think the kindle is such a good idea for dd too. It seems that alot of the free books are geared toward girls so that is something nice too. Nice of your mom to pay for it that way you can update the bedroom. I am glad you found a rotation that will suit...right now I will just play it week to week just to make sure I don't try to overdo it.

Jo-WOW on the new job...Have you told any one at your other job yet? I bet they are gonna miss you there. This is very exciting.
So how is the ipad. I am thinking about that maybe for dh on his bday. It is not until Dec. but I think that is another one of those things that we would not know how much we liked it until we got it...Just like my kindle.;)
Oh and I really like The Hunger Games...It is an easy read so a great summer book.
Love Love Love the pics of the yard! It is just like a pictured a yard in Washington! I love all that dark green foliage. So yes please do post more when you have time!

Patricia-LOL I just realized that my last post to you I labeled to Kim! I guess I was taking my meds that day.haha
I had to laugh at the mani...I think I have had one in my life. It really does not do any good to do anything to my fingernails. They take the brunt of my job. LOL

Cendrine- I hope dd's birthday goes great. I know the cake was a castle but what kind of cake was it? Did yall do it at your house?

OK I just took a break from cleaning so I better get back to it. TTYL

I feel like I keep running out of time to check the forums and post here...:( I don't know how things got so busy....

Anyway, dd's party was a great success, I am also relieved it's over, though... of course we still have thank you notes to write, but no more planning and prepping... I will post a few pictures from the party soon. All the girls (eight in all) enjoyed themselves greatly. We started off letting them decorate their goodie bags with princess stickers until everyone got there, then they all got to do a mosaic tiara, it basically was a precut foam tiara with numbers printed on it and each number had a different gem to put on it. It was a great find on amazon! Then we went digging for Jewels in a bowl full of rice, the rhine stones were big ones and we made pendants for necklaces out of it. Then ds volunteered to play the frog prince, complete with a mask and we played pin the kiss on the frog prince. Very funny, ds was a good sport! We also played a princess and the pea game, where I read them the story out of a picture book, then I hid a little bouncy ball under one pillow (out of four) and the girls had to sit on them to see if they could feel which pillow the ball is under. Was great fun and we did a second round with a smaller ball to see who could still feel it.
The cake was a hit too, dd wanted vanilla with strawberries in it and it was nice an moist and so much easier to make than last year's cake! LOL!

On a workout note, I discovered this workout series called T-Tapp, it is a sort of rehabilitative series and even though it's not Cathe and I don't think I will ' enjoy' it, I feel it might be the 'medicine' I need for the near future... Not totally sold out on it yet, I am doing some research and asking my PT what she thinks about it, but if it works on advanced exercisers (trying to find some reviews from advanced exercisers) I might give it a try.

Jo, your yard is beautiful, I love it, t hanks for posting the pics! And congrats on the job! Who would have known! Your birthdays seem to be real milestones!

Rachel, I'm glad your back responded to your rest and yoga! Take it easy for a bit longer... ;) I'm with you on the nails, it's pretty but won't last two days...LOL!

Kim, I sure hope the names don't get released! THat would stress me out! How nice that you already got takers for the bed! But what a bummer that you need to help cover at work. Hopefully some other people are pitching in so you still get a nice summer break!

Patricia, hope all is well your way!

So cute! My dd is looking over my shoulder and she loved the cake.

Cendrine I remember seeing lots of post about T-Tapp on videofitness.com a few years ago. It's an older series. You might want to check the reviews on that website.

Rachael I keep seeing the Hunger Games advertised and wonder if they were any good. Did you try a weight workout today?

Yesterday, I did a Cardio Fusion premix and today was a B&G premix. On the schedule it's a double workout day tomorrow so we'll see if that happens. The lady that came to see ds's loft bed decided to buy it and will pick it up tomorrow.

Yea!!! The dreadful hospital job is done! At least the hard part anyway. We are still waiting on some carpet that was no ordered but it is just a small room so when that gets here we will go pop that in and be done.
Poor DH...We had to make walking tracks for people that are recovering from from heart procedures. The hard part was that the carpet that was picked, really is not good for that but you just have to do it sometimes. It looked good when we got finished but boy was it work to get done.

OK on a creepy note...Have any of you ever had an obscene phone call? You all know how I get up at 4 am...this morning at 4:09am I got a creepy caller. I am thinking it might be time to lose the home phone. DH has wanted to for some time but I have held on to it for I don't know why. I guess maybe security and old habits. Unfortunately, since we never use it, I just have a very bare plan...no caller ID or call return. I was really creeped out this morning because I thought it would have to be someone that knew I was up but I am thinking now it was just a coincidence.

Cendrine-That cake is so cute...it is hard to believe you are not a professional with all that talent.
I hope the new workouts are not too mundane. Maybe you can find some good reviews.
This morning I tried a little step moves and felt that I might still need some time on the cardio. I am hoping I can keep up with the weight work and just try to use maybe the leg workouts as cardio. I don't know how your pain is exactly but when I was stepping this morning it kind of felt like my bones were pounding together back there.

Kim-Did you get your window coverings in yet? How about the A/C? We are dying here...Heat index is 115. That is miserable. They are predicting that in Aug there will only be a 10 degree difference between daytime temps and night time temps. That means possibly in the 90's at night! It is putting a lot of strain on the power grid and we have been having some outages...We have never had that before.

Yesterdays workout was GS. chest and tris...I can not believe she does tricep ext. with 25. She is an animal! lol.

Evening All

Just back from working up north for 2 days at a camp for the vision impaired. My company is building a staff residence for them and donating staff time along with getting donations from other companies. So I've been working like a labourer in 35'c heat for the last 2 days! Finally got a suntan (well more like a farmer's tan since we have to wear long pants:D)

Anyhow, tired. Just home and unpacked and getting organized for work tomorrow. Will pop back in tomorrow if I have time.

I have been feeling very lazy for the last week. I've donne no spinning and have just done my pt exercises and stretches ....
I am thinking a bit of rest won't hurt, but I better not get used to it, lol

Rachel, I keep crossing my fingers for you, that your back recovers fully! Stepping always got me to feel my back some, even when doing low impact, for the some reason, even with me not jumping and aggravating the spine, my muscles would get really tight from doing it and that would compress the spine... I hope nothing like that is going on with you!

For you gardeners out there, I'm having a steady harvest here. I made a huge batch of fresh salsa that's already gone with our tomatoes. I'm going to make another batch ttoday and it's tomato, mozzarella basil salad for dinner tonight. I've also made stuffed peppers and sauteed peppers, and two batches of an eggplant parmesan (lasagne style layers), and there are at least three more big eggplants waiting to be picked for this week... ;)

Jo, I'm so glad your shoulder is doing so much better, you must be thrilled!

Kim I checked the reviews you mentioned for t-tapp, and I checked the forums, too. It's as with everything, some love it, some don't. I have to say, I don't think the fun factor is there, yet still I'm thinking about it... we'll see.

Patricia, I had to smile about your farmers tan...;)

Good morning ladies!

It is a really good morning here...we got the day off. I set my alarm for 5am but I guess I forgot to save it and so I did not open my eyes until 6:30. It was just a great feeling to sleep in this morning. LOL
Of course since it is already 95 degrees and only 10:30 there will not be a whole lot going on outside so maybe just finding a new book to start on my kindle. I am trying to save the third book in the outlander series for fall. I like light reads in the summer.

Workout this morning was STS disk 3 for legs. I figure I will keep my workouts kind of on the endurance side instead of really heavy weight. Esp. on legs. I can't say that I forgot how tough that workout was because it of course was the first leg workout of STS but it might of slipped my mind about those really short rest periods...LOL Needless to say, I feel worked!

Cendrine-I guess I will have to call you Mrs. Greenthumbs. LOL Isn't it nice to have all that fresh produce around. I like having foods that I know the complete history of.;)

Patricia-I think it great when companies volunteer their time like that. You gotta love a good farmer tan...for about a minute. LOL

Hi Kim and Jo...

Oh have yall seen the new pics of the Athletic Training. It looks pretty interesting.

Hi All

Finding some time to get caught up here.

DS's b.day party is this Sunday and trying to come up with some loot bag ideas. We're having it at a sports place where they play basketball and hockey and whatever activity they staff comes up with. The last party DS went to he was given a kite so I'm thinking maybe I'll do the same thing.

Kim - wow, that bed sold fast! It's always great that once you decided to get rid of something it goes quickly! Sounds like your summer might not be so fun vacation wise after all:( but I'm sure your co-worker will appreciate the sacrifice (not that it's her problem but it might relieve her worry). I agree with you on not releasing jury names - doesn't it defeat the purpose of knowing there can't be any backlash on sending someone to jail. That Kindle sure is addictive!

Rachel - no problem on the wrong name - I still have to think about it here! I've gotten obscene phone calls b/4. When I was a college student I worked the night shift at a donut shop and someone like clock work would call every night and stay such disgusting stuff. I finally figured out that my co-worker used to listen to it and of course when she wasn't there or I got to the phone 1st then I'd get it. I think she was a little bit "sick" in the head! If you were to start up Step again what about using just the platform? The kindle sure would be the route to go for reading the Highlander series. I have Echo in the Bone that I have put off reading due to the SIZE of that sucker. Just not sure if I want to carry it while commuting...

Cendrine - love the birthday cake - you'll put me to shame as I "sub" everything out! I have a demo dvd of T-Tapp that came with a magazine. I keep meaning to pop that sucker in and try it - another one of those virgin workouts:)

Jo - Congrats on the job! Sometimes things just fall into place and I think you deserve it after all that hard work this past semester! My sister sent me a link recently to sign-up for LinkedIn. I had never heard of it prior to this. Love the pics of the yard - another thing I don't blame in having "sub'd" out:D Fun on the Ipad - I'm debating about an Iphone or a Blackberry. I'm not much of a gadget or games person.

Oh man I'm getting all behind on posts again! Ugghhh!!! I'm working hard to get things wrapped up at work with this week so have had little time! It seems we've all gone into super busy mode haven't we? Anyway so while trying to wrap up all the Senior Management from all the divisions and our parent company are here today. So even though I'm leaving I'm having to sit through those meetings and have to go to dinner tonight.

I'll try and get back soon! Good thing though is NO WORK next week! Woohoo!!!

Love the picture Patricia!!

Sorry I've missed a couple of days! Last night we were at the Kenny Chesney concert.:D The night before, the lady came to pick up the bed, DH, dd and I did PUB. Then DH decided to take dd to do a few errands and since her Kindle arrived that day, I used the time that she was out of the house to register it, and download some books.

Today is my last day of work then I"m on holidays till August 2!! So far work is managing okay short handed so I haven't agreed to working any days on my vacation.

Rachael Yuck on the phone call!! I had one years ago where they actually said my name and I remember how unsettling it was! Yup, air conditioner and window coverings all in last Friday. Everything inside the house (except some decoration but that is ongoing) is done but they haven't come to finish any of the outside work!!! Hopefully the power hangs in there for you guys! The prediction for us is 36 C this weekend! Are you back at work today??

Patricia I bet you are looking forward to the weekend this week!!! I'm sure it's a nice change of pace although exhausting! I did a few times for loot bags once larger thing (hula hoop, sidewalk chalk) works better than a much of little things. Ends up cheaper and the kids actually played with them. THe kite is the same idea. SUmmer time there is actually lots of summer like toys that are cheap.

Cendrine Summer is the time to relax and enjoy life!! What was dd's favourite birthday gift?? Yum on the harvest, I sure am missing my garden this year!

Good luck JO with wrapping up things at work. I got to run I just realized that I'm late for my last day of work!

Evening All

Well, I really do workout out you know but sure not consistant lately. I'm really finding there is less time in the summer! Tonight was a manicure then out to shop for loot bags. I got everyone nerf footballs and I had gotten some small little toys previously. Picked up the pinata today too. So almost finished with the shopping for Sunday. We're having a street party on Saturday and someone is doing all the BBQing so don't even need to make anything for a potluck! Woohoo!

Kim - happy vacation:p:p

Jo - I think we all should agree we pop in when we can and if we miss saying hi to everyone or commenting it doesn't mean we don't care!

On holidays!!:D:D:D The weather is hot and we're heading out to a provincial campground to camp and hang out at the beach for a few days!!
Have a great weekend!

TGIF...I think it has been Saturday for most of the week for me though:eek: I have gotten a little lax around the house the last few days. I wonder if it is just being trapped inside trying to stay out of the heat...

SOrry no post for me yesterday. The day just got away from me and then we went to some friends for dinner. Of course, me and my dorky bff rediscovered how to make friendship bracelets:rolleyes: so we spent the night laughing about how much more trouble they seem like now to make then 20 yrs ago. LOL

Workout was GS back bis and shoulders. I am thinking I will give cardio another go on Monday. One day at a time right...? My bgf also wants me to go with her on Monday if I am not working to try a yoga class with her. I think this is going to help me alot because I have the worst form ever when it comes to yoga.:p

Patricia-Love the "work shirt". You look ready to go! I hope the parties turn out great. And what luck on the lack of potluck. LOL

Jo-Did I forget to say Happy Birthday!!!!!I think I might have. I am glad you had lots of calls. It is nice to get remembered.

Hiyo Kim and Cendrine!!
Have a great weekend Kim

I watched Princess Kaiulani on Netflix last night, after reading a historical novel about her, there were some discrepancies, which drove me crazy cause now I had to google and see what the real truth was...lol! The book's so much better than the movie, as usual!

We are getting ready for an overnight camp event we signed up for through the city, everything is provided as far as food and activities go, so this should be a rather easy first go at tent camping... ;) the kids are very excited...

Kim, how fun that you got to prep dd's Kindle. I bet it's fun when your kids start enjoying grown up toys... ;) Enjoy your break! What do you hope to do? You asked what was dd's favorite gift. She really is playing with everything, but I think she loves the Wii game, Tangled, the most. It encourages cooperation and teamwork, and it's set up so boys, aka ds, enjoys it too...:)

Patricia, I'm sure the kids are going to love the nerf balls! A block party you have nothing to prep for is my kind of party...;) I don't feel so bad about my workouts, or lack thereof when I hear you saying its more challenging for you, too...

Rachel, I hope you do well on Monday with your workout, and a yoga class sounds fun too!

Jo, sounds like work got busy before you leave, I bet you will be missed!

Happy Saturday All

Up early and got my errands done for the day. Bought helium balloons today as the store said they'll still be good for tomorrow. The party is at 11am so need to make sure everything is done today!

Last night was 4DS - LIS cardio only and today was P57. Have to get the house cleaned b/4 my parents show up sometime this afternoon and I've decided to make a broccoli salad to take to the street party.

Cendrine - I bought a Vitamix last week and reading a book on smoothies. Can't wait to try your recipie that you emailed me. Have not had time to even get it out of the box though:( Camping and no work - gotta like that!

Rachel - its great spending time with friends. It wasn't until I found Cathe (about 6 years ago) that I started this intense regime of rotations and working out 6 days a week. For the summer I'm taking it one day at a time b/c 6 day workouts haven't given me any super results.

Waving hi to everyone else.
