Cathlete
Good morning everyone!!

Well yesterday I did all 90 minutes of Body Max!:D Feeling my shoulders this morning. Today is Premix #4 from Drill Max.

Cendrine Did you get that shopping done? You're a pretty early shopper too! I think that's a great idea to wait until after the cub scouts have been through the house till your wrap the gifts.
We do cross country ski here. Never seem to get out very often though. There are places within a day's drive to downhill ski but I've never really learned. DS went on a ski trip with the school last year and loved the downhill skiing, he's going again in February with the school. Did you ski alot going up??

Rachael Congrats on getting the dvds! Are you going to still do week 4 of the Nov. rotation or will you be trying out the new dvds instead?

Jo Very interesting topic for your essay, thanks for sharing! It'll be interesting to see how your Lululemon shares do after the Oprah mention.

I'm so excited about mostly relaxing today. Going to do my workout, some packing:cool: and some housework. DH has volunteered to take ds to curling so I don't have to leave the house if I don't want:D Tonight is our country's big football game so the boys will be glued to that.

Good Morning Kim and everyone else that follows:D

Don't worry Kim..I am with you...I am going to finish out the week on the Nov. rotation no matter how it hurts. LOL I don't think I have ever done the entire BM (I think only the cardio) so that should be interesting!

We went to a friends last night and had brisket and left overs and hung out by the fire. We did not get home again until around 2 and I guess no matter how long I stay up, I am never going to be able to sleep in. So right now I feel like I have a hang over from lack of sleep...hahaa

All thats on the agenda for me is finishing the last little bits of sanding on the mud I put on the walls yesterday and then the big clean. yuck but it has to be done. There is a fine layer of dust on everything I could move out.

I hope you are all having a relaxing weekend.

Drill Max Premix #4 (Legs and Cardio) done.:D Rachel, this one is only 56 minutes. The WM had said 77 minutes but that's for all of DM not the premix so that was a nice surprise. Most likely the Dec. rotation will all lots of the new workouts in so you'll get a chance to try them out then if you do the Dec. rotation. Hope you get a chance for a nap later!

Hi Guys,

late check in for me as I was being lazy all day... Ds was not feeling well, had a bit of a temperature and a stuffy nose, so I encouraged him to let me rinse his sinuses to clear him up and his ears started hurting.... So we had to go to the pharmacy for some ear drops which did the trick, no more issues after that. I'm relieved, I couldn't help feel guilty since I was the one who suggested it!

Kim, I did get all my shopping done! YAY! I feel awesome to be so done! Except for the wrapping, and that's not a biggie. I also was rather lucky navigating the crowds, I get grumpy in crowds, but I was able to avoid the worst!

I did do downhill skiing, not much cross country (too much work for me since back then I hated to break a sweat....LOL) But a lot of my class mates sometimes came to school on cross country skis. We didn't go skiing much as a family, but each year there is a schoolwide skiiweek where everyone and the teachers go and stay in a chalet on the mountain and just ski or snowboard all day. So I got to go at least once a year throughout my school years which was fun once I got the hang of it...

Rachel, sounds like your project is coming along fine! We had leftovers too, but just about finished them all now, so it feels like a new start tomorrow with cooking again and all...

I'm planning on doing some tm tomorrow and upper body premix of high reps to try it out. Still sore in my glutes and hamstrings from STS....

Good Morning...Just a quick checkin before I go start my 90 min BM workout! Good thing it is rainy and cruddy outside. Telling myself there is nothing else to do today is what is going to get me through this one...

I feel like I caught up on a little sleep but still wished I could just lay around and snooze all day but I need to try and get back to some sort of schedule, I do better that way.

Cendrine-Wow a week at a chalet every yr. That sounds so wonderful!
Don't feel guilty about the nose washing...your heart and mind were in the right place, it just didn't workout right this time...The ear drops worked so no harm.;)

Kim-That is what I am hoping for with the Dec. rotation. I love followinf the rotations!!!

OK off to workout...I am sure I will be back later. Cendrine, I will post that recipe if I get the chance.

Ok I'm back for a minute. I am waiting for the primer to dry so I can get a second coat on it and then maybe sometime this week I will pick up the paint and then for me all the hard part will be over! I am really not one that likes to paint at all!

I did get BM done. I am not sure if I have ever done that workout at all. I think I bought it for the other workout that was on it and it just never came up in a rotation. I really loved the cardio in it although I did lower the step for the power circuits. I think I might have been able to make it through it but I was worried that it would have taken my last bit of steam and I still had to get through upper body! I made it though...phewww.

OK Cendrine...here is the Cheesy Mushroom and Broc bake...Like I said, I did not really like it. I am not sure if it is because I used long grain and wild rice blend and the flavor of that was too strong. Dh said he thought it tasted kind of bitter. SO I am just posting it to see if you would even have considered making it and if so what you would have done differently. To me it was just kind of blah.

3T butter
2T flour
1/2 pound shitake or baby bella mushrooms , sliced
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic minced
1/2 t garlic powder
1/2 t ceyenne pepper
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken stock
1 (10 oz.) box of frozen broc, thawed and drained (I used fresh steamed)
2 cups shredded cheddar-monterey blend
3 cups cooked rice
Salt and pepper to taste
1 1/8 quart casserole dish

Pre heat oven to 425

Butter casserole dish. In a large pot, melt 3 T butter flour over medium heat until golden to make a roux. Add mushrooms, onions, garlic, garlic powder, ceyenne pepper, heavy cream and stock. Add broc,1 cup of the cheese and the rice. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour into buttered dish and top with remaining cheese. Bake until cheese is melted. ABout 20 min.

I made a super easy and great tasting turkey pot pie with some leftovers last night. The recipe called for 2 pie crusts, one for the top and one for the bottom. WOuld you just leave one off? (the one on bottom) I would love to be able to make my own whole wheat crust but I am no pastry chef!

Going to go check my paint.

Boy, High Reps is tough! Just going a little lighter than normal did not do the trick for me, let me tell you! The tricep section was so challenging for me that I ended up having nothing left to do the pushups that follow for chest! I ended up doing chest presses instead...LOL! I should be feeling something tomorrow!

Rachel, the only thing that I can think of that would make your casserole bitter is the broccoli, but you steamed it, which is what I was going to suggest before I read your recipe. What mushrooms did you use? Shiitake or the other ones? I haven't had too much of a friendship with shiitakes... I would probably take out the cream and make a concoction with milk and maybe an egg or two to help it thicken up when baking. Also, I didn't see salt in your recipe, I can't live without salt, nothing tastes good unless I put some on! LOL! I would probably also do lowfat cheddar rather than the full fat, but for a holiday recipe it probably doesn't matter. Something non healthy that would really bring it more flavor is to sautee all the ingredients with some bacon pieces (nitrite free ones) in place of the butter. And for the potpie, I would definitely only use one crust. If you wanted, you could grab a streusel recipe (for any apple crisp or streusel dessert) and make it with whole wheat flour instead of white, leaving out the sugar and vanilla if called for to make it a savory whole wheat topping. I have a yummy recipe for a crisp that uses oats and almonds for crunch, you could use oat flour or ww flour and almonds would go well with broccoli, I think.

Just finished Bootcamp with DH. A bit worried how I'm going to fit BM2 in tomorrow on a work day, may split it into 2 sessions.

It's a good thing I'm tackling those new workouts after a week on the beach as they sound hard! No dvds for me yet. I guess that okay's, if they came I would be tempted not to finish the Nov. rotation.

We got kitchen/bathroom cupboards in the house!! Not 100% sure I like them but will reserve judgement until everything is in place.

Only 4 more sleeps till Mexico!

Hi everyone! Well, I thought I posted yesterday but I don't see it!!! I remember that happened to Rachel once. So I don't know. But yesterday I met GF at the mall and spent the entire afternoon with her. It was really fun - we actually only shopped about 2 hours and spent about 4 hours talking! (I needed that!) Then came home and made ham and beans. DH had save a hambone for me and I've had a hankering for ham and beans for weeks! I haven't had ham in over a year or more. Anyway, I had soaked the beans while I was gone and then fixed them with lots of celery and carrots and it turned out wonderfully!

Today was the first day I spent the entire day in the new office since I couldn't get to work last week. I have so much to unpack and no time to do it today. So, I'm actually going to have a laid-off employee come in for a day and help me get organized.

Cendrine, so wasn't high reps a great workout though? I really enjoyed it! And, Kim and Rachel, double high 5's on Body Max! You girls are my hero!!!

Rachel, in addition to what Cendrine suggested...if you don't mind me throwing in a suggestion on your recipe (it might not be a good one!) but I would chop up and throw in a couple of big red peppers in that bake. Also I would use 3 cups of cooked wheat berry for the rice (but that's because it's my favorite ;)). I think the pepper would help eliminate any bitter taste.

Off to do homework!

Good morning!

Just a quick in and out for me. DH and I got in the big truck to go to town to get some supplies for my workout room and the battery was dead. There are 2 so now we are trying (or I should say he) to figure out which one or both or what.

DM premix 4 done. Wooo hoo Kim you are inspiring me for tomorrow!

Jo I will take all the suggestions I can get...LOL
I will be back later to catch up proper!

TTYL

Happy Hump Day!

Kim, can you believe Elizabeth has made it to the final four? I'm totally in shock! But then again, I get it! :)

Not much to report. Busy trying to get organized at work as we found out our President will be here next Tuesday so trying to get everything unpacked and put away.

Off to the shower!

Good Morning and happy hump day back to you , Jo!

I forgot you were shuffling the schedule around a little Kim, so I had Boot Camp today instead of BM2...That's tomorrow that I get to look forward to that 90 min workout:eek: Oh well...LOL

Not a lot to go around here either. I thought yesterday would have been easier but they don't make cars like they used to and DH had to disassemble a lot of thing to get one of the batteries out so that took a little time. I swear they make it to where you just can not do anything to your car anymore. I had a monte carlo a few years back that you had to take the wheel off to get to the battery! So dumb. I don't know why they do that!

OK so I think I am pretty much done with x-mas. I only have just a few little odds and ends. I can not believe I never tried shopping for everyone on the internet before. It was really a lot of fun for me. DH and I always kind of pick on our niece at x-mas and she ends up getting some sort of gag gift. Last year we gave her money and I wrapped each dollar individually...then made a wreath out of it. THe year before that her pre present was a box of elmers glue that we had gotten somewhere. This year I found a life size Jacob from twilight that she is getting. Really her gift is going to be money (she is at that age) but first it will be the Jacob.

Then we have the white elephant presents. Of course I could not take that seriously either so I was wracking my brain about what to get. I happened on this sight called uncommongoods.com and there was a humor book section. Well I am ashamed to say that one fine member in my family will be going home with a book entitled "What is Your Poo Telling You" and I nice candle for the bathroom of course! I know crass right:D...I plan on reading it first too LOL

OK on that note I better get on with the day. Have a great day!

No schedule shuffling for me this week, Rachael. Monday was BC, Tuesday was BM2 and today is LIC:D Haven't done LIC yet, will do it after supper. No dvds for me yet:( You sure sound like you're having fun with the Christmas shopping!!

Jo The time with your gf sounds like fun! So is working getting back to normal ? I'm not too crazy about Elizabeth being in the finally 4 but I'm happy about the other 3. When is the finale?

I did the intensity step segment without any of the jumping, and it was fun to do something different for cardio for a change. But I better stick to just one step workout a week for now. I also did lower body high reps, loved the plate segment! Fun stuff!
Not much else to report on. The kids got to open their first advent calendar gift today. I went to Michaels (craft store) after christmas last year and bought every clearance craft for kids there was....LOL and hid it in my closet until this year.... This way they are getting fun craft projects for a fraction of the cost (I would not buy it all at full price just for an advent calendar) So now they are happy doing their craft for the day....;) Gotta remember to go back to the store after christmas this year! LOL

LIC done, I always enjoy this workout!

What a great idea Cendrine! We are doing an Advent calendar as well but I'm using some little Christmas chocolates:eek:

Kim, my kids would love some chocolates this year... I realized after the fact that there is not one chocolate in this year's advent calendar....LOL!

Rachel, I forgot to tell you, you cracked me up with your white elephant gift! I am so boring when it comes to those, I just wrap up something that I got and put in the 'regift' pile from the year before.... nothing as funny as yours! I would be like you, I couldn't resist sneaking a peek.... LOL

Good Morning!!!
BM2 Done!!! I did poop out on the abs though but I felt really accomplished by that point anyway so I think it'll be alright.:D

I am getting into the habit of getting up at 7:eek: I will have to change my name if this keeps up! Of course that means it is 10 already here and I feel like the day is halfway to being over. LOL
Nothing really going on here yet. We are just taking care of things around here while work is slow. I am afraid we are going to have a lot of down time the next few months, maybe longer. I just have to find little projects to keep me occupied.

Better go eat oatmeal...be back later for personals!

Rachel, I'm sorry work is slow for you and looking to stay that way for a while. I hope you can enjoy the down time while you have it though. I know what you mean about the day being half over by 10....LOL!

I don't have much going on here today. We'll be outside for park time later on, out comes the down jacket....LOL I just can't seem to get warm. The thing I don't get is that I can be barefoot and in my tank top with wet hair on a summer morning with the thermostat reading 72 and be fine and right now it is 72, I'm wearing three layers of clothes and my hands and feet are still cold.... Go figure!
