Just getting us started. Rachael, you have to work on a Sunday?? You don't usually have to work on the weekend. Thanks for the review of MMA fusion!

So what are you thinking of getting from Lululemon, JO? I'm thinking of giving myself a goal as I've put a few pounds on with the Disney vacation and Christmas. When I get 10 lbs off, I get a new workout outfit from Lululemon. I love their stuff but rarely go buy because of the price. I really could use some new workout clothes so that will be good motivation.

Check in whenever you are able Gayle. Many of us don't have STS yet so not starting yet.

Going to take my mom out for a birthday lunch today that's the only plan I have.

So the fun today started with breakfast with my brother and one of his daughters. Since tomorrow is my mom's birthday (same for your mom Kim, right?) this was her birthday breakfast only she didn't know. My brother got there ahead of time and had the wait staff plan to bring her a sundae and sing to her after her breakfast. She was very surprised! And nothing like a chocolate sunday after an egg and pancake! LOL! Then we went shoe shopping for DH since there is no sales tax here. Found the shoes he wanted and a coaxed him into 2 pair since he rarely buys shoes and really needed some...and found some he really liked! Then we've just been kind of messing around all day - at the mall, seeing more people, etc.

So now I'm doing some laundry and we're leaving in the morning for MT. We'll be on the road for about 12 hours so I probably won't be checking in tomorrow.

Hello to everyone - Cendrine, hope you're having a great time with the in-laws! Rachel, puhleeze don't work too hard! Kim, hope you have a great day tomorrow - what are you doing for a workout???

Okay, off to get some leftovers for dinner!
 
Oh Kim, I forgot to respond about Lululemon! I've been looking online but I think I'm going to have to go to the store and look! I guess the biggest thing is I don't have anything specific I need and like DH said...spend my gift certificate WISELY! LOL! I might like to get something that I could wear out and about; like cute pants, top and a hoodie or something like that where I have a complete outfit. But I just don't know! I really love fitness clothes! I think that is a great goal reward for you to give yourself too!
 
Thanks Kim for getting us started yesterday! I was so low on time.

OK I have tough work week this week so it is going to be a good week for me to take it light on the workouts. Today I did the warm up, abs, and stretch of Travel Fit (I have not got to preview anything but MMA Fusion yet). Then I tacked on the STS extended stretch. I feel pretty good about that. I have a hard time doing nothing and I don't want to do too much this week. So I am trying to keep it easy and with using some of the new stuff in there it makes it really interesting. Instead of just doing a stretch from something old, I get to preview and stretch at the same time.

I am getting really excited about the sts rotation!

I've been starting to sleep in over the last 4 days. Tomorrow is going to be hard:confused: to get up for work.Today is still considered a holiday here so no mail delivery so no hopes of STS until tomorrow.

We had a nice lunch with my 2 sisters and my mom. It was a nice change with only the small group and no kids running around and no cooking to do. We went to the Olive Garden. Do you have that restaurant?

In the morning I did a premix from Kick Max, it was supposed to be a premix from KPC but I have KPC on VHS only so no premixes. Then in the afternoon ds, my mom and I went crosscountry skiing for a hour. Today the schedule calls for a premix from Supersets but I might just do the whole thing. I haven't done Supersets in a long time! Tonight we're off to watch the hockey game (the professional one, not ds)

Safe driving Jo! How is ss's back?? I have sweats from Lululemon that I wear out all the time, they're so comfortable. We had the waiters sing and bring cake to mom as well. :D The cake was super yummy!

Sounds like you have a good plan for your busy work week Rachael! Hopefully you get a little time to preview.

Hi Guys! This will be quick as I am actually in the car and my connection is spotty! We've been on the road for 6 hours. I was driving the first leg which is about 300 miles. We were good the first 70 miles until we got on the Columbia River Gorge then we hit bad weather...after 150 miles of solid ice, I told DH he could drive. Bad weather driving doesn't bother me but we passed 4 overturned vehicles (all in separate areas) and it kept getting worse and worse... Anywho, we switched after I drove that section for 3 hours and after the next ten miles, we crossed the bridge into Washington and the pavement has been all dry! Scheesch! We still have 350 miles to go and I'm hoping the pavement stays dry. There is snow everywhere but it doesn't look like it's going to snow and I think the mountain passes are clear. It's currently 26 degrees where we're at.

I sure had a great time with my family! I hope you're all doing well!
 
Wow Jo...that sounds scary. Our equivalent here is driving in thunderstorms and blinding rain, and I am not a fan!

It sounds like both you and Kim had a great time with family over the holiday.

I previewed and partly did the core cardio circuit work out this morning. It looks like it is going to be a lot of fun. This morning I just ran through the cardio drills once each. There are three different cardio drills in each set and you go through it once and then repeat and then there is a core exercise. I just went through one set of the cardio drills each and then did the core. Of course it was not too hard when I am standing there resting while I ff the second sets and stopping to make sure I was doing them right.:D But I am sure that it is going to be one heck of a work out when you go through it the way it was intended.:eek:
I give it the 'VERY FUN' rating!:D

I have not had time to look but does anyone know if there has been a rotation posted for sts and shock cardio yet?
I was wondering about the calendars too? Cathe has really had her hands full this season!

Well I have to be off. These next three days are going to be tough.
I will be thinking about you , Jo, having all that fun while Kim and I are back here and up there working!;)

Hi Everyone!

No, we did not get snowed in, we just hit the ground running and never had the laptop hooked up the whole time we were in Bellevue! :eek: So sorry for not checking in with you guys! We just got back, we had to get up at 3:45... not nice, but the kids were amazing and it is nice to be home early in the day. Laundry is going, kids are resting and dh and I are on the computer...LOL!
I will have to run out later and get some fresh produce, but not planning on much other than that.
Our trip was fine, although it was a litte scary to hear in the news about that guy on the plane in Seattle who was trying to light up some explosives...Fortunateyl we did not hear about that until we were already safely on the ground...
The kids got nice stuff from the family, but nothing quite topped the Wii that ds has been wanting so badly all year. Jo, do let us know how you like your sports wii, I'm on the fence about it, dh has tallked to me about it before.. Dd got a nursery center complete with baby bath tub, high chair, crib, etc. She refuses to let her dolls have it, it is only to be used for her ' baby teddy bear', her dearest thing in the world. She gave him 4 baths, diaper change, feedings and nap cicles the first hour alone...LOL! Very cute!
Dh's parents bought a blender, so I taught them how to make two different kinds of green smoothies. They liked them, and we got to have our daily dose, so we only went without green smoothies one day...
We went out to eat a lot since MIL does not like to cook, and it was interesting, in the past I would have ordered something chicken based or something, but I simply did not feel like it, in fact it alomst seemed unappetizing to me... Am I turning into a vegetarian without even trying? I think everyone thought it was weird that I had all vegetarian stuff to eat at the high end steak house we went to to celebrate FIL's upcoming birhtday.... I realized what a meat focused family they are.
My new year will be met with healthy eating as well and I feel like joining you, Kim, to work up for a reward at Luluemom's!
Rachel, I'm glad you had some time to do some of the workouts! I'm going to look if there is a rotation after this. The pillows and mattress did not agree with my back and neck at all at the hotel, I hope I didn't take too many steps backward in my recovery! I have a chiro appt tomorrow and we'll see what she says. Still hoping to join you all for the sts rotation!
Jo, sorry we didn't get to get together, it sounds like we both were more busy than we anticipated...!LOL!

Girls, forgive me for not posting more personals...I think I will be back on later and can talk more. I just wanted to tell you we finally made it after 12 hours...hit a snow storm over the last pass and I was just happy to get here! All in all, we had everything on our trip yesterday: sun, heavy wind, ice and snow! GF and I just got back from a walk (about 3 miles). It's 23 degrees here and snowing. The lake is completely frozen over and there are people out there ice skating! We had our Xmas this morning with our friends - I'm having such a good time already! Anyway, I'm off to get a shower. GF got a juicer so I'm going to help her make us some juices!

Cendrine, I, too, am sorry we didn't get to hook up! But yes, sounds like we were both very busy. Glad you made it home safe!

Oh and SS back is doing fine! I'll be back later!
 
Well I'm so glad that our travellers have made it to their destinations safe and sound! Travelling, especially in the winter, is always such an adventure!

Yesterday I got in all of Supersets and then a 2 mile run on tm which aggravated my plantar fascitis!:( I ended up taking tonight off and being a couch potato because 1) my sts isn't here 2) my pf is bothering me and 3)it seems like everyone else around me is on holidays and I'm seeing all the patients! So I deserve vacation time in the evening;);)

I just haven't been able to get a good food/workout routine going again since our Disney trip then Christmas. Hopefully in the next few days with the New Year and STS I'll get settled!

Rachael Cathe has posted today that she is working on the new rotation so hopefully it will be up in the next day or two. When are you thinking of starting the rotation?? Thanks for the sneak peeks! Calendars have been mailed.

Cendrine Hopefully you get some good news from the chiro! Do you have any Lululemon clothes? Should we make a goal of 10 lbs then a new workout outfit??

Jo Enjoy this time with your friends! Are you going to do some skating??
 
Good Morning Gals!

Well we did not get home till 9:15 last night so that made for a really long work day! We are getting it done though and should just have to work a little on New Years Eve (which is our 11th anniversary) to finish it up. I got home last night and knew I would not get up this morning to work out...good thing it is my light week...anyhow, I set my alarm for 5 instead of 4 and I was still awake by 4:30 and just laying there:rolleyes: So I thought I would go ahead and get up and catch up with y'all. So here I set in my work out clothes talking to my my work out friends with absolutely no intentions of working out:D

I am hoping we get some time off after this job but I am always afraid that it will be too much time off so I hate to wish for that. Normally if gets slow during the winter and tax season and so far we have had a busy winter so we will have to see if this is a normal tax season or if we are busy beyond belief like we are now.

Cendrine-It sounds like you were super busy while you were away. I am glad that you had so much to do that you did not have time to check in! Down time in a hotel is not very fun for me!
It sounds like you do not even have to make a New Years resolution since your body is already assisting you. Isn't it strange that your body craves less the healthier you eat! I never would have believed that if it was not happening to me. I think this holiday season, I have eaten the better than in my entire life. I definitely know that having things in the freezer esp. on those busy baking and cooking days, helped me to eat a lot healthier.
The plane thing would have freaked me out too. I did not realize it was in Seattle! How scary. I am glad that y'all did not know until you were grounded. You probably just missed out on the night mare traveling that it has created now too!

Jo-These friends of yours must be the best for you to travel 12 hrs in snow and ice to get to them!:D I know you are busy so I won't ask a lot of questions but I am hoping you might be able to post some pics when you get back! It sounds so beautiful up there and it is definitely on my list of places to go.

Kim-Oh Kim I hope you get your sts soon! Thanks for all the updates, you are a time saver! I just have not had time to even go to any other forums! I think we were all talking about starting on Jan 4 or around there but I would be willing to wait for you. I am sure Jo would too probably. I am not sure if Cendrine's back is going to allow here to start up quite yet. We do not want her to injure herself more! I am ready to get started but I am sure yours will be in within the next week or so, so let me know if you are ready to start up as soon as you get it and I will wait for you!

Alright. Now that I have killed some time, I am off to get ready to do it again! Just today and tomorrow and then we are done!!!!!Yea!

Kim, I love all the reasons you wrote down for taking the night off! :) I do the same thing! Of course right now I'm taking every day off....:( so I feel quite guilty!
I don't actually have any Luluemom clothes, but you guys just got me started on them. My other dream-on athletic wear place is Athleta, I have a few things from them and when the new catalogues come out, I always have to prioritize...
I think the 10lb goal is a good one, except the scale messes me up big time and I begin to sabotage my efforts, so I think for me, I will just have a list of things I will be watching out for, instead of weighing in, such as no sugar, eat only when hungry, no processed foods, hopefully add in workouts to get back up to speed, that kind of stuff. I was thinking, if it's ok with you, I'll just keep doing that until you reach your 10 lb goal and then we splurge on an outfit. What do you think?
My calendar got here yesterday, did any of you get it yet?

I'm glad work has been good for you guys, in a way being too busy right now is a blessing, isn't it? Because the alternative isn't nearly as attractive because you never know when you can find a new job, huh?
I would love to start STS with you guys, but I don't want to hold you guys back, since I don't know when I'll get the workout ok, but I will be cheering you guys on if I can't be starting myself. I know if I get the ok, I will wait until I see Cathe's rotation for the STS combined workouts.

Are you doing anything for New Year's/Anniversary tomorrow Rachael?? How neat to get married on New Year's eve, did you have a big wedding? Hopefully your done work early.

Well I have not worked out this week but I sure feel like it! I have worked so hard the last 2 days that I am actually sore ! Still one day to go. Hopefully we can finish today but it will be another hard one.

I got my calendar yesterday too but when I got home last night at 9:30 it was on top of my car...in the rain! If I had not been so tired I think i would have been more mad but I just was glad to have gotten it before the start of the new year.

Although I have not been working out this week except for just a little trial of travel fit and cardio core circuit, I will be working out tomorrow...I am a little superstitious and always like to get a good tough work out in on the first of the year. You know the whole "whatever you are doing on the first of the year will happen all the rest of the year!" So I think I will have to try another dvd tomorrow.

Kim-I am so glad that you got it! Did you preview all of them last night and if so you and Cendrine are way ahead of me!. I just have not had time to do that yet.
Actually DH and I lived together for quite a while before we got married. I think getting married was just a spur of the moment idea for us. His mom was getting married and we just kind of had a double ceremony at her house. A big wedding was never anything for me. I am too shy for all that attention.;)
When do you want to start sts? We had kind of figured on the 4th, probably the 3rd for Jo since she always starts on a Sunday...the 4th for me since I always start on a Monday.

Cendrine-Did you get back to the chiro and if so what did they say?
It is definitely a blessing to have work right now. It is scary to hear how bad the unemployment is is some places right now. I feel so fortunate. I do have to say though that these last couple of days have been tuffies!:p
We really do not do too much to celebrate our anniversary. It is all bundled up here with all the other stuff and by now we are all celebrated out. Normally we are not working on this day so I make something fantastic to eat and we just stay at home and off the roads. Today we will probably order pizza to the job and watch the fireworks on the hr drive home!:D

Jo- I know you are having too much fun to check in but we miss you!

I am off to try to talk myself into another hard day!

Cendrine, I think it's a great idea as I need the accountability. I've got 9.5 lbs to get to my goal. So hopefully new workout outfits sometime this winter!

I have to admit that I was so excited about STS, I put MMA fusion in to watch after supper and promptly fell asleep:eek::eek: on the couch. I've been having a crazywork week too and have a bit of a cold. I might start the rotation on Friday (tomorrow) if Cathe posts the rotation but I'll decide tomorrow.

Got to run to work, the rest of the house is still sleeping, DH has the day off and the kids don't go back to school till Monday.

still no workouts for me :( , but I think I am just going to start some walking, I don't think that can make too much damage.

Kim, I tend to get sleepy when previewing workouts as well.... Why is that? Do we get tired just watching the hard work....:rolleyes:

I went through the pantry and tossed lots of candy from the kids and got rid of some other processed stuff. There is one more bag of bad stuff, I'm keeping it until the weekend. Whatever is left will be handed out at Sundayschool.... Then our house will be clean and I am all stocked up with healthy stuff for our journey. Will you just watch protions, or will you cut out certain food as well to reach your goal, Kim?

Off to get the house cleaned up. I took down all the Christmas stuff yesterday and the house could do with a good vacuum job and mopping.

Rachel, we usually just have a nice dinner on our anniversary too. It's nice you guys get to see the fireworks since they are on that day! Sorry about your wet calendar! I hope it didn't seep through to the actual pages!

Jo, when will you be back, I can't remember. Have fun and be safe!
 
Hi Girls!!!! Happy Anniversary Rachel!

My GF emailed me that she picked up my STS package on Tuesday and said another big envelope was there as well so it was obviously my calendar! Yeah!

Yesterday we spent the entire day in town doing stuff; a little shopping, running errands. We had lunch at a very neat healthy restaurant (I know, in MT???) but it was really good! Today, I am helping GF prepare for party tonight. They have about 20 people coming. It snowed all day yesterday.

Rachel, I think it's good you've taken a few days off from working out! Hope you get your job finished up today and then can relax with a nice 3 day weekend! Your posts about the new workouts are really getting me excited! I can't wait to get home and preview the workouts!

Cendrine, I think your plan sounds good for eating and easing back into working out! And, an outfit from lululemon is a GREAT goal! LOL! :eek: I hope you can start the new year feeling really good! I get that Athletica catalogue too and always drool over it!

Kim, I have not iced skate just as we haven't had time! But if we do it will be tomorrow...we'll see! Hope your foot is better! Isn't that annoying to have it start bothering you again? Uggh! Also, glad your workouts arrived! So I haven't looked yet to see if Cathe posted workout but I'm ready to start on Sunday if it all works out. Assuming there is no snow storm, we will be driving home Saturday.

Need to go help GF - she's making a ton of appetizers! Oh, I think I told you a while back (can't remember), but GF has autoimmune issues so has to eat really healthy the way I like! So we will be having some really healthy appetizers and then some good bad ones! LOL! I gave her a cookbook for Xmas that is: 1000 Gluten Free recipes (she's a fabulous cook!).

HAPPY NEW YEAR

WoooHooo! We finished our job yesterday at about 6pm!!!!!!So that means Dh and I laid 40000 square feet of linoleum all by ourselves! Oh I am so glad to be finished. We did not even have one punch item. (a punch list is things you have to fix) There were patterns in all the hallways and the rooms were solid. We thought we were going to be in trouble yesterday when at about 2 o clock we went to get some more glue (we only needed one bucket) and realized that we were out. We are working in this little tiny town and we just knew we were screwed. The super tells us that there used to be a floor company in town that did all the school work . Still after we got their number, I was still pessimistic because why would they be open on New Years Eve and if they were there is no way that they would have the specific glue that we needed! They were open and they did have the glue....it was over priced, 180.00 for 4 gallons, but we will be reimbursed and at that point I did not care. I just could not believe that they had it and were open...they said they would be closing in 30 minutes so everything happened right when it should have. I do not know when I am going to learn my lesson and stop doubting that good things happen too!:p;):D

I slept in today so I have no gotten to my work out but I think I am going to start out with a warm up and then do the stretch from sts and then get into maybe the boxing workout. My body and back is needing a good stretch and I think putting that first will help get me limbered up. Then I will start the boxing from the beginning, doing another warmup just to make sure.

Cendrine- I hate that you are not released yet. I am glad though, that you are listening because when I did the MMA fusion work out, I thought that there might be some moves in there that might give you some issues. THere is a twisting elbow back punch that you do feel in the back that might be one of those moves. I do not know what your specific issues are and where they are located in your back but some of the rolls and then tucks into a pushup might be something too. I do wish I could eat more clean than I do...I have a hard time with packing my lunch and not relying on things sometimes that are off the store shelves. I used to make my own bread and freeze it but I just don't have the time anymore.
Keep us posted on when you are going to get to start easing back into your work outs. And we will keep you posted on how tough they are!

Kim-I have not got to check out lululemon yet but I am going to join you and Cendrine on your goal if that is OK. My main goal for this new year is to improve my techniques. I sometimes turn into a sloppy exerciser. I try to get those tucks and some air on the air jacks but it just doesn't work out. So with all the cool new moves with shock cardio, I am going to try to look cool when I am doing it:p, like Cathe, and less like me!:D

Jo-Did you have a great time at the party? It is great that your friend fixes healthy apps. along with some bad ones. Most of the time when you go to parties like that there is only bad things and sometime during the night I get hungry and waver, esp. if I did not plan ahead and pack my own snack. I guess I need to check out the rotation and write it down on my new calendar! I am ready if Y'all are!

Well I am off to start my New Year with a New WORK OUT! I will give yall my take later!
