~~~STS 6 Month Alumni~~~ New Year's Week
I can't believe that Cathe hasn't posted the new STS rotation yet, I was sure she would have it up for January 1st.:( Would you believe that there has been fights here as both kids want to do the first Shock Cardio with me:rolleyes::rolleyes: Even DH is ready to get started, I was at work yesterday and met them all at a restaurant afterwards and he reported that he checked the Cathe website to see if she had posted a rotation yet and she hadn't. I was extremely surprised that he did that and that he even knew where to check. So we might have a group of 4 doing the first STS cardio.
I guess today I'll try one or two of the new cardio workouts ds wants to do a MMA or HITT. I'm going to also print out my workout cards for week one of the weights.
Cendrine Do not feel guilty about not working out!! I think starting to walk is a great idea! Was the chiro okay with that suggestion?? I'm going to try and lose the 10 lbs in a commonsense way, cut out the sweets/potato chips, cut out late night snacking and otherwise healthy meals. I tend to be a fairly healthy eater (maybe not compared to this group but compared to most) it's the little add-ons that are my problems.
Rachael I'm so glad that everything worked out for you yesterday and that you finished in time to have New Year's/anniversary off. What's the calendar like? Howfully the rain didn't damage it!
Jo How did the party go??
Kim
Rachel, I am so glad for you that you were able to get that glue, even if it was more expensive! It would have been such a drag to not get it all done! Way to go to you two for working so hard! You have deserved a nice break!
It's great that you are joining us on the 10lb challenge. I used to bake too. Now I kind of resort to Ezekiel bread when I want to be super clean. Did you know you can make really yummy tortilla chips with the Ezekiel sprouted tortillas? I cut them into eighths, arrange them on a cookie sheet and broil them for 2 minutes in the oven, you really have to watch it because they can burn really easily. Sometimes I have to turn them over and broil for 30 more seconds on the other side.
Kim, your plan for eating is essentially what I am planning to do too. It is the inbetween stuff for me too, that is my downfall... I am aiming to have an appetizer salad before dinner every night to fill up and watch the portions for the rest of the stuff. You know, it's interesting, since having done the green smoothies every day, I have needed less sleep! I love it! I feel like I get a bit of extra time for myself at night now and it is wonderful!
Jo, I hope all is well with you and you are having a wonderful time with your friends!
Sorry I have not had time to come back and tell you about the boxing. I like doing the MMA work outs because you really don't need to preview too much. For me the step is more complicated than the other workouts so I have to preview those.
This was another fun work out. I have a big mirror in my gym room so I got to see my self and tried to really get into the boxing stances and look tough.:D
I thought this was a great straight forward all over body workout. I love the feeling that I got in the core the whole time. I felt like if I did this a lot I might actually get some good abs!
Cendrine-I think I have heard you mention those tortillas before. I have tried that with whole wheat but I never thought about broiling them. I bet the sprouted ones are great!
Isn't it weird that something kind of small, like adding a green smoothie into your diet can affect you in so many ways. I bet you can not wait for your blender!
Kim-That is funny that the family is fighting over working out with you! I just love how fit your family is and your dh checking the forums for a rotation, that is great.
Jo- I hope you have safe travel tomorrow!
Now that I have a little time I am off to check for any rotation news.
Have a great night.
Rachel
Just a quick post to keep us on the front page. I am enjoying my days off tremendously!!!
I have a hair appointment today, which I need desperately:D The grey's are fighting.
Last night DH and I did the p90x yoga. It was fun to work out with him again. It was really fun to do that because we were laughing at each other and some of the things TH was saying. When he put it on and I saw it was 1 1/2 hrs I did not think I would finish it but we went all the way through. It was pretty good for yoga.
OK off to eat breakfast and slap some make up on for my big day!
See you later.
Rachel
Congrats for finishing YogaX Rachael! That is an accomplishment. I did a whole round of P90X and did that workout once a week. It's a long, tough, tedious workout by the end of the 3 months I watch tv while I did it.
I did HITT double pyramid yesterday with dd. It was a goo intense workout but so short it felt okay. DH did MMA Fusion yesterday and seemed to enjy it. Right now I"m busy previewing Athletic Step. I'm not sure which workout I'll do today, it's kind of frustrating that a rotatin hasn't been posted yet.
I am a little frustrated about that myself, Kim. I was hoping there would be a rotation before Monday. Heck I was hoping for one when we got our shock cardio. I am not quiet sure how she would put it together in a week increment. I am assuming one Hiit, one MMA and then one step or circuit work out but I would really like to leave it up to the professional, if you know what I mean.
I got to go spend my Christmas cash today. I had some Kohl's cash and a Kohl's gift card and some money too so I just went to Kohl's and did it all in one swoop. I got some new bedding and they had towels for 2.49 so I could not pass that up. Then I needed some new kitchen things and since they were having a good sale I took advantage and got all the things I have been putting off. My total came out to about 250.00, but then I saved about 250. and I had about 160 dollars of x-mas money so I was only out about 90 dollars...
Oh my company just showed up so I have to go...BBL
Rachel
Rachael, Cathe posted a 3 month STS strength/cardio rotation!
Sounds like fun at Kohl's! DH and I were just talking about Kohl's. We don't have them in Canada and it's my favourite place to buy pants. We were talking about a spring break trip Minneapolis and I was saying that I wanted to stop at a Kohl's.
I did Athletic Step and Travel Fit today. DH did Travel Fit with me. Both were good workouts.
Hi Girls! Another Kohls lover here! I was MIA yesterday as we couldn't get an internet connection due to weather conditions. I am now on the road home and have about 5 hours to go. We've already crossed two mountain passes in MT and Idaho and just have the big one left...but it's still 3 hours away (we're now back in Washington). Roads are nothing compared to last Monday! Snow, but the roads are clear! Yeah!
I took a quick peak at the rotation and so wish I had an opportunity to do the cardio before we start...but OH WELL! I'm ready to start tomorrow! Kim, I forgot, are you a Sunday or Monday starter? I know Rachel and Cendrine are Monday girls! I'm ready to bring on the DOMS! :p:D:eek::cool:
I'll post more later when I get home and tomorrow to tell you more about our trip. I had tons of fun, relaxed, but of course anxious to sleep in my own bed again! I'm glad I'll have a day at home before going back to work.
Talk to you all later.
Safe driving Jo!
I had a look at the rotation and think I'll start tomorrow (Sunday) so I can have Saturdays off. DD has swimming and piano lessons on Saturday so will be a busy day.
DD is upset that she didn't get to workout with me today (she was at her cousin's for a sleepover) so I promised her that we'll do another HITT together tomorrow. So my plan is STS disc #1 and then a HITT workout.
Rachel, it looks like Cathe pretty much did the cardio the way you were guessing! Good guess!
Nice deal at Kohls...I like shopping that way. I once got an expressomaker for 12.- that was supposed to be 150.- and it is 11 years old now, been used every single day (except) for when we're not home) and is still working like a charm... that was a bargain!
Kim, I just have to smile each time I read how much your kids and dh love your workouts and do them with you! So fun!
Jo, looks like you'll be able to start right on schedule! I hope you had a safe trip back!
I'm starting my walks Monday, I just have to do something! Kim, how's your eating been the last couple of days? I actually did pretty well, passing on the chocolates and ice cream at the restaurant! I was thinking of you! That helped me stay resolved!
Well, I wish I could start Sts on Monday with you guys, but I guess I'll be tagging along behind a few weeks... but I am really looking forward to starting when I can!
