Morning All

Working from home today and just loving the slow easy start to my day:p I have a company meeting to go to West of where I live and since I commute over 1hr East it just didn't make sense to go into work this a.m.

Yesterday I did P57 - classic TB. I'm not stretching enough as I'm stiff in the a.m. so must work on that.

DS took 2 falls on Sat. on his bike w/training wheels. I had told him they were coming off soon so he asked for them to come off and now he his really cycling:D He needs help to get started and to make turns but not bad after only 2 days of practicing. So a huge milestone. He turns 6 on July 5th and while he loves running and playing he is not the most co-ordinated boy! But that will come so not stressing.

Kim - these barre type w/os remind me of the early days. Its a lot like floor work where you do so many reps you start to get cramps. That's one think I like about weights - no cramps! I'll try to get a pic of my hair - today I shaped it a bit like Lisa Rinna. I hear ya on the disatisfaction of all our hard work and still not happy. I think that's why I buy so many dvds in the hope something will just magically work for me. I'm thinking of staying with heavy weights for my UB and endurance for my LB. I don't build muscle easy and what I do have has a layer of fat that just won't go away.

Hi Girls,

I'm back from Big Bear campout! It was a gorgeous weekend with beautiful weather, warm, sunny and clear. We had a lake front camp ground so the kids of course went fishing. Not too many fish caught, but it was fun trying. Dd tried as well and kept wanting to go back. She was very 'go for it' this weekend and did the rock climbing wall as well as attempted the zip line (but at a certain level of climbing up the tree the brackets were too far apart for her to reach) she also had her first shot at archery and generally enjoyed herself. I didn't see much of ds as he was with his friends all the time, I think I got close enough to him one time all weekend to hug him....

This morning I did Cardio Coach 2 on my spinning trainer! I was so soaked! I think I over did it on the challenges, my head is feeling funny.... I was never good at taking it easy! LOL! Then I did some free weights just to get started again, but no dvd. I might start the slow and heavy tomorrow.

Kim, you sound like iron woman! But I think it is always good to change up your routine once in a while, I have actually felt like doing higher rep less weights myself. I think p57 sounds like something I might enjoy. I really enjoy pilates too, but I don't like going completely weight-free....LOL! I wonder if the spinning is going to help my legs get leaner....I'll probably stick to medium weights for legs for a while due to the back issue.

Patricia, you sure have a long commute! High fives for doing public transport! I think that is awesome! Dh used to commute 1hr away before he got to have a home office and I always felt bad for him.

Rachel, I bought a 'Texas Caviar' at Costco the other day and it made me think of you...LOL! It's a healthy bean/jicama/pepper/corn sort of dip/ salsa and is really tasty!

Jo, how are you doing with school? I was thinking of you the whole time I was spinning on my bike! LOL! I bet you can take so much more restistance than me! But I got soaked way more on the bike than I do at any other low impact workout! Definitely a good way to go!

Hi Everyone! I'm coming up for a few minutes of air! I've actually taken a couple days off work here to get things (papers) finished up and study for finals. This is it...I'm in the home stretch! I'll take finals this weekend and my 3 classes are over!

Patricia, I got a chuckle over DS and his bike. We had trouble getting SS to ride his bike but then he took off! LOL! Are you enjoying the P57?

Cendrine, the campout sounds like a ton of fun! Isn't the bike AWESOME??? I knew you'd enjoy the low impact...but do you LOVE IT? LOL!

Hi Kim and Rachel! I am so behind on the thread but I'll be back in touch as soon as this is over!

Oh...today is the 24th anniversary of DH and my first date! Can you believe it? We also remember it because it's flag day.

Have a great day everyone!

Wow, Jo, it seems like this term of 3 classes was the fastest of all the ones you've taken. It seems only a few weeks ago you were talking about thinking of doing 3 classes! You are just amazing! Congrats on the 24 yr anniversary of your first date! I can't remember when our first one was... LOL!

Patricia, I had to chuckle too about the bike. When ds started to learn, that was his first real challenge, everything else so far had come super easy to him, so he had no experience in persevering ....LOL Every time he would fall, he would get up and kick the bike, as if that was going to make it behave...:rolleyes:He still hates it when something doesn't come to him at first try....

I am on my third week of spinal decompression now an I am really feeling well, almost no pain at all! I'm so excited!

Hi Kim and Rachel!

OMG

I think that was the longest from me with no post. Things just got so busy around here this weekend and then back to work yesterday and I wasn't on the computer all weekend. Then I was so tired when I got off work last night that I just went to shower and straight to bed.

Needless to say, I am pooped tonight also.
I am on the second week of the June rotation and did Kick Max this morning. I ran out of time before the leg drills but I am getting enough leg work at work.

Patricia-The training wheels thing reminded me of the first time I rode a bike without...It was at a sleepover at a friends house in the first grade:eek: I was too embarrassed to admit that I stil had them so I just hopped on and took off. I wish I was still that brave today. LOL

Jo-I agree with Cendrine although I am sure it feels like forever for you, it seems like it flew by. I am so proud of you!

Cendrine-I am so HAPPY for you!!! I wil have to tell my friend that the decompression is working for you. He had the steroid shot and I do not think it worked. Poor guy.

Hi Kim.;)

OK yall I know that was short but I am just too tired ...I promise I will try to catch up better later.

Evening Gas

Just did P57 - classic. That's all I've done of the P57 so far. I haven't had time to fit in the 30min leg/butt one or the 30min express TB. Just can't seem to get enough run of days where I can work out. None last night as we went out for drinks after the meeting. Tomorrow evening I have a client cocktail party to go to and Thursday night is baseball. I'm really looking forward to Friday night as we're going to see Tim Allen with another couple.

Kim - have you been watching the Stanley Cup finals. I laughed today when 2 guys were talking on the train about so wanting to get rid of their beards. Only one more day then no matter what it'll all be over:p

Cendrine - gee time is really flying by if you're into your 3rd week of spinal work. So glad to hear its working out for you. I loved hearing your activities at camp. Brought back so many memories. psst - a little secret here - I would never take public transit if I didn't have to. The 1st thing I do when I get to work/home is wash my hands! Have I told you about the time some weirdo tried to pick me up on the streetcar - I was held hostage until my stop for 5 minutes!:eek: Our neighbour is have some yard work done so their tree has a orange temporary fence around it - well DS ran into it on his bike! But he got back on it again so it couldn't have been too traumatic. His legs are full of bruises these days and he keeps making me put Star Wars bandages on them:p

Yeah Jo on almost being done - any plans for celebrating? I'm finding Tanya and the music motivating. She seems to say just the right thing when I'm about to give up on the endless reps or the music just helps ya to the end. So far I think the Classic TB dvd is more leg and ab oriented. There is only one track for UB but there are a couple sets of pushups through out. A little hand held pump came with the playground ball I bought for this and it's actually been useful to re-inflate one of DS's small basketballs that was getting pretty pathetic! Congrats on your anniversary. Lots of reason to be celebrating this week!

Rachel - wait to go on keeping up on your workouts - I think your job is pretty physically demanding as it is isn't. LOL at you storey. Gotta love peer pressure - works in a good way sometimes too!

Very quick post for me as it's late and I'm not feeling well. Yesterday I was feeling yucky with sinus issues/head cold. Left work and my car wouldn't start:(:( Phoned DH he couldn't fix it and it ended up getting towed and is still at the garage.
Came home sat down on the couch to watch the hockey game and fell asleep. Sounds like I didn't miss much, eh Patricia. Who is your DH rooting for? It's all Vancouver fans in this house.

Still feeling icky today but we had tickets to baseball that I had bought DH for his birthday. It started raining in inning 8 so we left and I'm heading to bed. No workout for me yesterday or today.

Sorry I'll get caught up on personals in a day or two.

I'm sorry to hear you are still not feeling well, Kim! It seems like this is the longest you have been sick since I've known you....:( Sending healthy immune system vibes your way!

Patricia, sorry about your bad public transport experience... I couldn't help but chuckle, though.... I grew up on public transport in Switzerland, you could set your time to the buses and trains and it was so convenient. I would totally use it here, if it wasn't such a pain!
We recently found out that there is a bus that goes nonstop from here to the airport for a fraction of the cost of a shuttle which might stop several times... We used it last year to and from the airport on our trip to Switzerland and it worked like a charm!

I did Cardio Coach on my spin gadget again today. I think I have some cardio capacity to catch up on...LOL Then I did slow and heavy biceps and triceps. Good workout!

Now I'm busy getting things lined up for dd's birthday. We are having a pricess birthday party and she can't decide whether she wants a castle cake or a princess cake...LOL! She wants both but I told her I wasn't going to make two cakes....LOL! Luckily both cakes are easy to make (anything is easy after last fall's yoda cake!)

Rachel, I hope you recover soon! I am still recovering from my sleep deprivation from camp.... but I'm holding up pretty well.

Jo, happy home stretch!

Sorry for another quick post...

Cendrine-Wow the years are going by fast, it seems like dd just had the fairy party:D. I can not wait to see this cake you come up with. It sounds like you are getting back into the workouts in a good way.

Patricia-Tim allen sounds like fun. You will have to let us know how that goes...Although the cocktail party sounds like fun too...haha maybe I need a vacation.

Kim-Sorry you are still under the weather. Ugghhh and car trouble is the worst! Esp. when it is out of the blue with no warning. I hope it is nothing too serious and your luck changes soon.

GS Legs this morning! I don't know what I am subbing for the cycle tomorrow. I will find something though.

Sorry for the quick post but its time for reading and sleeping...LOL

Okay...I'm making HUGE progress - I should stay home more often! :D

Rachel, thank you for the support! It means a lot to me that you guys are cheering me on! I feel like a slob though since I haven't worked out in a few weeks. Ugghhh! My body is aching to be hurting! LOL! My suggestion is you should sub Low Max for cycling tomorrow. That will give you that nice low impact but a good workout on the legs!

Cendrine, I am thrilled the decompression is working for you! And I love that the bike is working too! You'll have your cardio capacity back in no time! I can't wait too see what the cake creation will be!

Kim, I'm so sorry you're under the weather! Hope you feel better for the weekend!

Patricia, I'm laughing over your bus ordeal. A few years ago when I had to work downtown Seattle I decided to try the park and ride. I only did it 3 times. The first two days okay as the entire bus was business people. The third day though I ended up sitting next to this guy that was farting for 17 miles and there was nowhere for me to go! I went and watched the P57 clip and it made my buttocks goes OUCH!

Back to studying...

Happy Friday! I think I like being at home! LOL! I'm getting so much done and will be ready to take that first final tomorrow! Finishing papers today then all assignments are turned in! YAHOO!!!

Summer finally showed up today - it's supposed to be 70! Ibo gets his stitches out today so he went with DH this morning. Nothing much else to report. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET A WORKOUT IN!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Well I can type even if I can't speak:rolleyes: My voice is pretty much gone. The kids and DH are enjoying the quiet;). Between being sick and evening activities I have not worked out all week:( Also had no car for 2 days and had to wait for DH to pick me up from work so got home much later than usual. DH and I did go for a few evening walks which was nice.
Being a new neighbourhood its fun to see what's going, still lots of new houses going up and a street is being built behind us. Lots of neighbours are landscaping, fencing so something different every time we go for a walk.
No landscaping for us yet as the builder still needs to finish some exterior work and then level the land. I'm itching to get the landscaping done but it's possible that it will have to wait till next summer.

Today I am home waiting for the carpenter to come and finish off a few little things in the basement that still aren't completed. It's one of those sit and wait all day. Which is okay as I'm just getting the house a good cleaning.

I'm not sure what I'll do for workouts after missing so many days, I did the first 1.5 weeks of the June rotation, not sure if I'll pick it up again or try something else. I still might take today off from working out or just do something really light.

Cendrien How great that you're getting pain relief!!! You sound so excited to be exercising again! So any decision on the cake??

Rachael That's cute how you learned to ride a bike without training wheels. Peer pressure can be effective some times. Did you find substitutes for the cycling/running?

Patricia Enjoy Tim Allen tonight!! Love the Star Wars bandaids.:D

Jo Thank goodness you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Enjoy the summer like weekend! We are finally getting summer like temperatures. My sister is having a pool party tomorrow, the kids are excited about that. Haven't watched the video clip yet, will do that later.

Gotta go, the carpenter is here.

Well I blinked and it was Saturday. LOL I did check in yesterday morning but the computer was updating at the same time and when it got done it shut down:rolleyes: So lost that post. Now I can't even remember what it was about.

I have been cleaning house ALL DAY Long! And the air has not gone off for hours so I am thinking we are going to have to get a bigger unit since we added on to the house. Of course it is 104 outside:eek: It is just miserable to be outside. There is a very strong wind that is just blowing the hot air around. So hot and dry is the forecast for us.

Oh and I had a tomato fiasco! I went out the other morning to check for ripe tomatoes and half my plant was gone! The crazy thing is that I did not even notice at first...I guess I still wasn't awake yet;). Then DH said maybe I should check my plant a little closer and low and behold not a leaf left on one whole side. Then we started to investigate and found the culprit. It was what we later googled and found out was what is known as a tomato worm. It is big and green and I took a picture of the sucker to post to yall...I will try and get to that tomorrow. So we pried him off and put him in a jar and took him for a ride down the road...On the internet it said people are so angry when they find their tomato plant ravaged that they nail them to a board and let the birds have em but I just could not be that barbaric. LOL
Anyhow now I will have to see how hardy a tomato plant really is.

I completed the second week of the June rotation. Today was GS back bis and shoulders. I don't know about yall but that band work is a killer on there for me.

Kim-I am sorry you are still sick. I hope you just lost your voice and don't feel as bad as you probably sound.
How is the car? on the cycling day, I did yoga. I am trying to improve my flexibility (which is horrible by the way) so I am going to try and sub in something like that every week. Then yesterday I did rhythmic step cause I love that work out.:p

Jo-I love being at home too and being able to get alot of stuff done. Oh and I got the suggestion after I was passed the workout but I think that is a great idea. I always draw a blank when it comes to what cycling would be killing and oh yep...legs it would be. LOL;)

Hi Patricia and Cendrine.

Oh and Happy early Father's Day to all your Dh's, Dad's Uncles and other special dads in your life.

TTYT

Hidy Ho!!! I just finished my Psych final!!! Yahoo!!!! As I mentioned yesterday, finished turning in all papers last night. Studied all morning this morning and got this first one done. Tomorrow will be a bugger though as the accounting one is a stinkeroo in terms of much more studying. It's all calculations like statistics was so I need to spend more time getting ready for that one. I'd start tonight but need to give my brain a rest and refuel!

Kim, I'm so sorry you're still under the weather! Oh, yes and we're back to rain today and 59 degrees. A hundred and WHAT Rachel! LOL! :D Well that's okay since I have to be inside anyway. Kim, I forget but did you ever get all the bathroom plumbing issues resolved? I'll bet it fun to see how your neighbors are landscaping - gives you ideas!

Rachel, I know what those worms are and they are UGLY! LOL! We put our tomatoe plants in raised plant boxes. They are waist high. I should take a picture (they're actually DH's project not mine!) Do you remember my SS works at a plant nursery so we get some nice things from there with his discount! LOVE that! Ibo sends love to your doggies! He got his stitches out yesterday and so DH took him for bath today. He's all frisky and smelling like an angel dog! I'll have to post some new pictures of him. I can't believe it's 104 there! YOWZA!!!

I'm happy happy happy as the stress is coming down..down...down...

Okay, I'm off to make myself a big giant salad! Hi Cendrine and Patricia!!!

Happy June 18 everyone!

I got some new exercises from pt yesterday! Regular and side planks, some form of a leg lift done on your back and a killer balance move where you are on the sponge roller (hard one) with your feet on the floor, your hands clasped up to the ceiling above your chest and tthen you bring your knee in to your chest, alternating. That move takesall your focus! Dh tried it and promptly fell off LOL!

Rachel, I know that caterpillar too! I hope your plant recovers! Our tomatoes got hit with a kind of funus, but we were able to fix it with garlic oil... ;)
Wow, it's hot where you are!

Kim, I hope you are getting better fast!

Patricia, what are you guys doing for fathers day? The kids and I were going to make dh breakfast, but the sleepy heds are still znoozing, so I got going and now all is ready and noone is up, including dh... LOL!

We have a bunny in our backyard, a cute little one and it's not interested in our plants, so we are feeding it carrots... ;) It hasn't touched the celery we put out last night. Dh wants to google what wild bunnies eat. :)

Jo, congrats on finishing your psych final and going strong on the stats! You are so close! Hey, dh just made reservations for a seattle trip this July. We'll be at hood canal for the first few days because the tide is perfect, but I was wondering if you wanted to meet for coffee or something later? If you are free I can pm you with the details. It sure would be fun to see you!
