STS 6 Month Alumni ***February 2012***

Jo, I am sending good intentions and positive thoughts your way for a good fit in a new job!
So sorry about the paper mess up but good thing you are an early starter because if you were like me you would have procrastinated till the last minute and then been "up a creek"!

Cendrine, Ooooh that is a tough one for me on the limo ride to American Girl. At least dd is only 5 so if you decide for her not to go she most likely won't feel like she is missing out on too much. Now if she was a little older she might really get upset.;)
Did yall ever here about the job?

Kim, That is the very reason why I have put getting my kitchen cabinets redone. I am not looking forward to the chaos that is going to create! But I think that I am just going to have to break down and get over it!

We started that new job so I have not been on the computer that much. It is not that big but it is a tight schedule to fit into plus being off work so long has gotten me out of the routine so I have been tired. I love all the days off but I also like to stick to a routine so it is not so up and down!

So I gotta get off here and get the day goin. Have a great day!!!

Jo, I'll be praying for your job interview! The other one, work for a year without pay, who could do that? Wow, sounds like a fun job though.
I love that you are protective of dd! I am usually pretty trusting, but I had my doubts about this one, which is why I asked you guys and you are confirming things for me! Thanks for being honest. I was worried about being overprotective, but I am thinking I'm not...

Rachel, a change in routine is always difficult for me too, I hope you adjust quickly!

Kim, are you back to work?

Cendrine, what did you decide about the party? It sounds like a great party if the girls were about 10 instead of 5. Maybe you can ask if you can drive dd to the American Girl store and then you could browse in a nearby store.

Jo How did the rest of your week go? It sounds like you got off to a frustrating start with have to redo your paper.

Rachael Hope the job is going well! Do you have the weekend off from the job?

Had a busy week at work even though it was only a 3 day work week. I am back to working part time so 3 or 4 days/week instead of 5. I've been working 5 days a week since September as one of the therapists is off on a leave of absence to care for her ill mother. This therapist is a good friend of mine, one of the girls I used to run with, and go on the shopping bus trip. We've worked together for years. Her mom is in her 80's and was diagnosed with bowel cancer. We have great benefits in that she has been paid family sick time to care for her mom but that means they have been double paying as they pay for the employee to be off work and for me and another parttime employee to work extra shifts. The manager decided it is costing to much and we can't work the extra shifts but we need to see the same number of patients with one missing therapist:confused::rolleyes: Whatever, we'll see how this goes in the next few weeks.

I'm still plugging away at the 3 month STS/LIS Transformation Rotation. Thursday was Trisets Upper body and then Friday I have to admit I fell asleep on the couch after supper and there was no workout:eek::eek: Today was Slide and Glide then a 2 mile run on the treadmill, I'm trying to add in some short/fast runs to get my speed up.

Wow, Kim, it will be interesting to see how it goes with seeing all the patients with less time! This is what they have been doing at dh s work for a couple of hears now and then they give them bad reviews for not being on top of everything...

I decided not to let dd go, I had a previous commitment and could not have gone along, but we invited the birthday girl over to our house to celebrate after the fact, and that seemed to have been well received.

Dh got scheduled for a phone interview... he thinks there are three candidates... I kind of hoped he would not get called.... great support I am...

Jo, how soon until you know you got the interview?

Workouts for me was just the treadmill this week. Chiro wants me to lay off upper body weights until the tendinitis clears completely. So I'm going to figure out a lower body and abs routine for next week. I'm feeling about 90% recovered, so things are looking up.

How are things for you, Rachel? How's the plant based diet coming along?

Well, a couple of days got away from me! LOL! I'm still trying to work at my workouts. I did Rhythmic Step and didn't quite make it through the whole thing. Can you believe my butt hurts from stepping! LOL!

Haven't heard back from the recruiter so still don't know if I have the interview or not. I got that paper finished and just saw my grade - I got 100% full credit on it! Yay! So today am starting my three classes. Had to go to the dentist this morning for a cleaning; have to go back tomorrow as a filling came out! We went out Saturday and looked at girl german shepherds again. We don't need another dog, but there's this 4-year old that looks just like Ibo (only smaller) - her name is Betty. :D Like Ibo she's fully trained but not quite as extensive as him. Sigh...oh and they had 16 week old puppies! They were so funny! If nothing else, it's fun to go out to get a puppy fix! :D

Cendrine, what did you decide to do with DD? Oh, did you see Costco has bok choy now? (We do anyway!)

Rachel, I can feel how busy you are!

Kim, good luck on the whole work thing! Do the same with less! Uggghh!

Time to read! It's beautiful here today but only 37 so I'll be reading indoors!

Congrats on your paper, Jo! You continue to soar, I'm so impressed!

I have bought the bok choice many times from Costco! Love it! They also had Ginger the other day... I just get in trouble whenever I go lol

I did the lower body blast DVD that came out at the same time as intensity, I had not worked out in 3 weeks because I was so sick, so I stuck with just 5s and 8s. The doms are getting worse every day... but at least I'm back to working out lol...

Hi Kim and Rachel!

Sounds like lots of DOMS going around our group!

Congrats on the great mark Jo!

Cendrine Glad you are recovering so quickly! When is DH's interview??

Did Afterburn and a 1mile speed run (well fast for me) on the tm tonight.

Just as I was typing about my friend on Saturday, the phone rang and it was her telling me that her mother wasn't doing well at all. She ended up dying that night. She came into work today just to drop something off, she looks terrible. She has been providing 24 hr care to her mom for 8 months, all of it at home except for the last week. She is going to take 6 weeks of holidays before returning to work, time for a little TLC for herself. She did notice my weight loss.

Kim, I can't imagine how hard it must be to take care of someone close for such a long time 24hrs a day and then loose her so quickly, I'm so glad she is getting to take some time to recover!
how nice that she noticed your weight loss, that is so encouraging!

Not much going on here today....

Happy LEAP DAY!!!

Oh Kim, your poor friend. I hope she has other family support (and good friends) to help her through this. Good work on the speed run! Wonderful your weight loss is noticeable! That is so encouraging isn't it! YOU GO GIRL!!

Cendrine, I have a funny for you. Yesterday I was juicing a kale lemonade, and when I dropped the lemon in, I didn't have the plunger ready and the shredded lemon meat flew out! I had pieces of lemon in my hair and on my face! LOL!

I'm sitting here doing homework and getting ready to go workout in a few minutes. It's snowing right now so I'm feeling especially lazy. TTYL!!

I'm just sending a note as I'm thinking about all of you tonight....

I don't think I mentioned this but one of my classes is my capstone class so it's a TEAM project! Yes, my friends...a virtual team project! I'm the only one on the west coast, the other 4 members are on the east coast. Wish me luck as I'll be kicking some butt if we have any slackers! I'm not going to risk not maintaining my 4.0!

Hope you all had a great LEAP YEAR DAY!!!!

Okay, last thing since I know you guys are okay with me bragging a little...yes, I have maintained a 4.0 and on the Dean's List every semester. Can you believe I've finished 5 semesters and this is my last semester? Thank you all for letting me brag a little, supporting me through this, and still being here as I've gone through this journey even when I've had to slip out of our chats for a time. You guys mean a lot to me!!

Thank you my friends!!! Love all of you!!!

Happy March 1!!! Only 3 more weeks until spring! I decided to do Rhythmic Step again. I figure once I've mastered that I'm good to go on my other step workouts (why...I dunno! :D). Again, I didn't make it all the way through BUT my feet no longer feel like cement and mama mia I had that wonderful rosey cardio glow!!! Yessiree I didn't have to modify anything. So I'm sitting here having a nice salmon salad to reward my wonderful efforts! :p

The President of my old company was in town today from Toronto so I went and met him for coffee. Had a nice chat.

Nothing much else....I vacuumed, doing laundry and worked out!

Happy Thursday!

Jo, you had me laughing with your lemon juicer story... my juicer doesn't do that otherwise I'd have had multiple such episodes myself... lol

I took the kids to ¥isney land yesterday because they were done early with school. We watched the Aladdin show which they had improved since last time we had passes and it was very good. I had a bad pms menu there... drinking my green smoothie like a good girl now.

I just got an email from our organic farm, they are doing complementary strawberry picking for its produce members... its usually 17.- per person, so we're going for sure!

Well, gotta run, have a great day!
