STS 6 Month Alumni~~Christmas Week

Cathlete
Just getting us started.

I finished the leg blast premix from LIS. I would never have done this workout if it wasn't on a rotation but it was a good little workout. ANother good reason to use rotations.

Going to try and get some house cleaning done today as I work till Thursday at 4pm and I'm hosting christmas dinner. What's the chances of it staying clean till then?

This evening is dd's piano recital, she's playing, My Favourite Things from the Sound of Music. Then ds has a hockey game.

Hope everyone is feeling well and having a good weekend.

Good Morning!

Oh Kim, I love "My Favorite Things!" Now, I'll be singing that all day! Raindrops on rosebuds and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with strings, these are a few of my favorite things! Oh, how I love that!!!! (yes, I know all the words! LOL!) Oh, I would love to hear DD play that!

I have no idea what I'm doing today for a workout. I have a little bit of a headache so I'm just sitting here drinking coffee and thinking about it. Oh yeah, I was going to spin! Now, I'm kind of leaning towards the Drill Max Cardio premix - I love that workout!

Well, I'll check back with you later!

Kim, I hope you have a productive day! Hello Cendrine and Rachel!

Hi Guys,

I love my favorite things too! I love the whole movie! Jo, thanks to you writing down the words I'll be singing it in my head while I go up and down the grocery store aisles later today! LOL!
Sorry about your headache! I hope it goes a way soon!

Kim, if your family is anything like mine, the house stays clean for about 5 minutes after cleaning.... This is why I always clean the visible stuff the very last.... I'm making both kids do age appropriate household chores once a day, and decided if they are doing an extra chore, so can I. Maybe our house will actually stay in maintenance that way... When it's just me doing all the cleaning, sometimes I just stop because it's such a never ending, constant thing... But with the new junior help, maybe I'll be a bit more motivated...LOL!

The Christmas Program was beautiful, although unfortunately I didnt get to enjoy it much because I had to be behind the scenes so much with the kids. Luckily they recorded it and I can see it on dvd soon. I took some pics before everything started, when I get around to downloading them I will post them here.

I am itching to start working out but got a reminder not to when I did some more heavy duty cleanup on Thursday. I'm better, my body said, but not all the way out of the woods.... Soooo, I keep previewing the new clips here and dream...

Oh so sorry for the late post...I have been so busy today trying to get everything done before the hectic week of work. I did not do any grocery shopping and am going to have to do that either the night before Christmas Eve or the morning of Christmas Eve! Ick...Oh well at least I will be guaranteed fresh produce. I think I have the meal planned...
Beef Tenderloin with roasted shallots
Roasted Garlic mashed Potatoes
Creamed Peas
Asparagus Bundles
homemade crescent rolls
buttermilk pie

I think that will be a beautiful Christmas dinner! Now I just have to buy the groceries to get it done!
Maybe dh can do without me on the 23rd! Doubt that though!

Then I have his birthday on the 26th and all that I know that he wants is a coconut cream pie for dessert and "meat" for dinner! Like I would not have made meat! Men sometimes I wonder!:p:rolleyes:

Jo-I hope the headache is gone...No more migraines! Did you do drill max? When do you leave for your moms? Thanks for posting the words ...I love that!

Cendrine-Boo on missing the play but hopefully they took good video! I am glad you are giving your body plenty of time to recover. Looking at the pics from shock cardio, I think you are going to need it!;)

Kim-How was the recital. I wish you could post some of that! Does dd still have the pink high lights and if so did she dress to match? As far as keeping the house clean, I know what you mean! The sad thing is that I just have one full grown man child !

OK I am off to shower and pj out. I am tired and want to be rested because scheduled work out tomorrow is max intensity cardio!

Have a great night!
Rachel

Okay...here it is (you guys got me going!) :D This is for you Kim!!

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

Love it love it love it love it love it!!!!

Cendrine...oh do be careful!!! Especially when you think you're feeling okay and then you'll accidentally overdo! We want you 100% A-OK! I know you're itching to get going! Glad the program was fun! I love little kid productions! They are so cute!

Rachel, your dinner sounds FANTASTIC! I want you to cook for me! LOL! We're leaving Thursday morning. I just got off the phone with my mom and sounds like there will be about 16 of us. It's a tradition to go to mom's for Xmas Eve, then everyone does whatever or other relatives on Xmas Day. Sometimes there's a lot of people and sometimes there's only about 6. We were supposed to go last year and then we got snowed in with over 2 feet of snow before we could get out (and we don't get plowed up here!). And, my mom was part of that same storm and had less snow but had ended up without power for 4 days. She slept in the neighbors RV that had a generator. Oh, and my mom's BD is on the 28th! Yep, I got DM cardio premix done and yes, headache went away (thank goodness!)

Kim, are you back? How did it go? Oh, you're probably at the hockey game now! Talk to you all later!

I also love the Sound of Music and the song, My Favorite Things. That song has been going through my head for weeks now with dd playing it. She has also been learning, Supercalifragilitisix (whatever, you know what song I mean) and that one gets stuck in my head also!

She played beautifully, it was a great recital. There was some real little kids playing, so cute!

DS's asthma has been bothering him all weekend, he insisted he was playing hockey although he's been using his puffers constantly all day. They ended up tying the game 1-1 but he's upset that he let a easy goal in that he would usually have been able to stop. Being a goalie is tough sometimes.

Jo Hope the headache is gone! My mom's birthday is Dec 28th as well! Not sure what we will do, we're all usually tired of family dinners by then. She already has her gift, which was a new bread machine with a convection oven setting. Do you go to your inlaws over the holidays as well?

Cendrine Thank goodness they taped the show for you. It will be a great keepsake as well. The kids chores sound like a good idea. The house has been scrubbed down so hopefully I can just do a quick surface clean before everyone gets here.

Rachael Your Christmas dinner sounds yummy, how many people are coming? Then you have a birthday dinner to do as well, lots of treats this weekend. So do you buy DH a Christmas and a birthday gift?? DD does still have pink in her hair but it's fading from the pictures I posted. She wore a plaid Christmas jumper to the recital. This dress she got for Christmas last year so only wore twice and she was so excited when she found it in her closet because she had forgot all about it. I was glad that it still fit as I hadn't thought about getting her a new Christmas dress so hopefully she'll get some more use out it.

How do you make Buttermilk pie? I have never heard of this much less tasted it. How interesting! Your menu sounds delish! And don't feel so bad, dh does his fair share of messing up the just cleaned house right along with the kids, so even without kids, it would not end...lol.

Kim, I'm glad the recital went so well! By the way, your desserts sound very yummy!

Jo, I forgot to mention before, good job coaching your friend at work through losing so much weight already! She is more than half way there! Of course the second half is always harder than the first, but such great progress! How nice of you to get her a workout dvd!

Oh my gosh! I am SO INSPIRED!!!! I just watched the circuit video clip! I am so excited for these workouts!!!! Oh and in the middle of this, the trailer for the new Biggest Loser just came on (Kim, did you see, there is a guy who weights 526 lbs!). It starts Jan 5! I"m excited for that too!

Cendrine, the girl I'm working with confessed to me Friday that she never thought this would work. That she would give it 6 weeks... And, we just completed 14 weeks and she's lost 56 lbs and 52 inches (as of a week ago when we measured). Anway, she is so pumped! She has beat every goal we've set for her! She radiates! Her skin looks beautiful - she glows and just radiates good health and is FULL of energy! She had bought a rebounder as she has very limited space in her home. So she rebounds in the house and has been running a little (more of a run/walk) when she can go outside. Really all we've done is cut out all processed food and meat and she weighs in with me twice a week. I'm so proud of her! There are 3 other people in the office that have come and talked to me about their eating and want to start after the New Year. They all need to lose 75+ as well. (Maybe it's my new career! LOL!)

I'm so motivated after watching those video clips, I'm going to do some good cardio tomorrow! Cathe makes it all look so easy - and we know that's not the case! LOL!

Kim, glad the recital went well! Poor DS! Hope he isn't beating himself up over the lost goal! I hate that when you replay what you could have done different!

Rachel, as I'm typing this, I'm thinking I'll do MIC with you tomorrow! I feel so energized! Hope you're all back to normal now!

Tomorrow girls! Talk to you all tomorrow!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

My knee was bothering me a little this morning and when it is I don't do hi/lo! :p So instead of MIC I did Imax Extreme skipping over the weight parts. It felt awesome! Even skipping those parts, it still clocks in at an hour!

My SS missed up his back at work last night and can barely walk this morning so I don't know what that means for our holiday travel. (He works at a plant nursery.) You know one of those freak things where he turned funny and it took him OUT! Anyway, trying to get him into the Dr. I showed him some stretches to try and do but we'll see.

Nothing else to report. Check back with you all later!

Jo, if they do end up giving you the pink slip, i think you would do great coaching people to become healthier and fitter! I can totally see you doing that! It's so cool that your coworker has stuck it out so long and is loving it! Awesome!
Sorry about ss, I wish you were closer, I would send you guys to my chiropractor, the therapy they give me is so great, I don't know what I did before I found her! I've only been going for two years... Hopefully they can give ss some good therapy, I'm thinking from the sounds of it that stretches would not be enough... Such a pain, those freak moves we do that mess us up!

I did a readaloud story with the kids where a girl who knew nothing abou farm life gets to live on a farm and sees how to make butter. Sooooo, we just had to make butter....LOL The kids were fascinated, but I couldn't turn up the home made butter and crackers.... I am feeling so out of shape:( STS will be just the ticket! I love watching all the previews! I'm so inspired too!

So, I am wondering, is everyone not on the forums because you all are previewing sts shock cardio? I got mine today, much to my surprise! I would not have expected it this soon! Have any of you got it?

Here's the funny thing, I wasn't going to use the kickboxing bag workout, but ds has gotten a kickbox bag thingy for his birthday because he is so much into martial arts, but I was underwhelmed with the program it had on it. He saw that there was a workout on Cathe and he promptly dragged his thing in front of the tv, put on his punching gloves and started working out! It was hilarious! He wants to do that for P.E. tomorrow! I had a good giggle looking at Cathe's pink punching gloves! LOL! So fun!

EXCELLENT!!!! But....

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? IS THIS SOME KIND OF JOKE???? You must have paid for 2 day or 1 day shipping! Why did you get this before me????? Why Why Why???? I'm SO jealous!!!

I don't know where everyone is! It is quiet around here isn't it?? I'm really busy at work trying to finish up things so I can be gone!

I honestly can't remember what shipping option I chose, knowing me I thought I probably did the cheapest which would not have been UPS, they must have made a mistake in their attempt to get everything out. On the invoice it listed my shipping charge at 6.- something an on the box the stamp said 11.- something.... Of all the people to get it early, it's me, who can't wake up tomorrow morning and try out one! So sorry, Jo! I also didn't get a shipping notice, but you did... Odd. I'm sure yours isn't far behind though!

Well, it's a conundrum! LOL! I'm glad you got yours though! I know how funny! I double checked...I'm still not scheduled to get mine until next Tuesday! Oh well...I'll have them soon enough! I'm glad for you Cendrine! Especially since you have to wait for your super charged blender! It's your trade-off!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking...LOL ! I tried to order it again today and the website still has an error... I'm going to call tomorrow, not sure if I'll get through tough...

I previewed the abs circuit, it loos tough but so fun!

Cendrine-I can not believe you already got it but that is so cool!

OK sorry I was MIA yesterday but when we got back to the job that we had to leave for a little while it turned into a way bigger deal than everyone thought!. They had to remove the old tile so that we could lay the linoleum and when they started to tear it up, the floor underneath is just really in bad shape! So now we have to become concrete finishers and fix that before we can lay the floor and it all has to be done before school is back in! It is going to be a lot of work and I am sure I will not be having all the days off that I thought I was going to.:( Oh well...I am not going to complain because there are so many with out work that I feel very fortunate to have some!

Ok the other thing that is going on...I am pretty much over my little cold thingy but yesterday , for the first time in my whole 33 yrs, I developed what I think to be a FEVER BLISTER! This is just terrible. I feel like the cooty girl:eek: DH read up on them on the web for me because neither he nor I have had one so I wanted to know all that I could and it says it can last for one to two weeks! Yuck!!!...I guess this is another one of those things I will have to look back on and laugh and laugh:rolleyes::confused::D

OK sorry for no personals but I am out of time...Got to go put my concrete hat on...Wish me luck!

Have a great day!
Rachel

Oh yea it was Legs and Glutes today!

True to promise, ds did the heavy bag workout with Cathe today! He was amazing! And he loved it! After the heavy bag workout he popped in the travel fit divd and started working out with the band, too! I would have never thought he's get into those, but he just loved them!

Rachel, so sorry about the delay at work, but it does help to look at the bright side, that there is work for you, I like looking at the positives, otherwise I can drive myself nuts with spinning thoghts.... Sorry too about the Fever Blister, what a drag! I think they have ointments you can use to hopefully help it along. You might want to try taking some GSE, as I think I remember the Fever Blisters can be viral, and GSE is antiviral. I got a good price on Vitacost.com.

Hope you all are well!

Hi Girls! I did Low Max this morning (got more done than last week!) LOL!

Cendrine, how cute about ds! I'll bet that was fun to watch! So how are you feeling? Are you feeling better every day or is it slow going?

Rachel, glad you're feeling better! If you got through L&G - you're DEFINITELY feel better! :D Don't work too hard!

I'm still really busy today trying to finish up end of year stuff that has to get to accounting.

I'll CBL! Hello Kim!

Good Night everybody!!!
We got home earlier than I expected but I guess it was still pretty late. Tomorrow will be even later still because we have to hit the grocery store on the way home for Christmas dinner viddles!

I started to realize that this might be the last post for me before y'all leave for the holidays. (maybe a quickie in the morning)I think you are staying home Kim, right? Anyway I wanted to say that y'all have given me a great gift for Christmas! Y'all are my fitness partners and without y'all I do not think it would be near as fun an experience. I have enjoyed being able to get advice and suggestions and of course just all the day to day chit chat! I look forward to being able to share all the experiences we are going through. I just wanted to thank y'all for hanging around even after we finished STS. I am so glad we are going to go through this again together! I hope you all have a great Christmas!

Cendrine- I can not believe you made butter! You are something. I do not think I could pass up fresh butter either. THey have this thing at the state fair here...Fried Butter! I know it sounds gross but I know if I ever get back to that fair and I see fried butter, I will be trying it!
As far as the buttermilk pie goes...I have not made one either but I think it will be a lot like a custard pie. Sort of like egg custard. I think it is going to be good. I did not want a real heavy dessert so I came across this and thought I would give it a whirl!

Kim-Sorry to hear about ds asthma. He is a tough little guy though, huh? I know it must be a little scary because kids hate to be limited and I am sure some times the asthma probably does that to him.So are you all ready for Christmas dinner. Will it be Christmas Eve or day? We are only going to have 4 here for Christmas eve and then I think something the next day at FIL's house.

Jo-It sounds like you have a big gathering to go to for Christmas Eve! I think that can be so much fun. What are yall going to do the next day since you get the day for what ever? I know you said yall were going to be gone for a while so do you have any thing special planned for while yall are gone? Do you ski?

OK I am off to doctor my FB:p.
Tomorrow is Rythmic Step finally!
Have a great night.
Oh yea Kim and Jo I am going to try to watch TBL this season with yall!
