Stretch workout reviews??

I'm trying to decide between Stretch Max and the new Total Stretch for my purchase with pre-order. (I know I'll end up with both of them, but I can only afford one at a time!) Anyone think one is better than the other?? I don't have a ton of time to stretch, but I really need to do more. I don't have Core Max either but like I said, a little bit at a time! ;)

Thanks for your opinions!

I really like the music in both of them. It's very calm and relaxing, I don't get the kinda scary feeling like I do from music I call "monk music". (The music is soft, some classical, some that she's used in previous stretches, just really relaxing). If you like the ball, then you might like The Total Body Stretching because there are two ball stretches on there. Sometimes I end up fighting to stay on the ball or control the ball so I don't get the full benefit of the stretch (which just means I need to do more stability work to strenghthen myself). Stretch max has one ball stretch but the other one requires a band. If you don't have a band you'll have to buy one. They aren't too expensive but it's still an extra item you have to get. Anyway, I usually do them right after weight work. I know that anytime I do Cathe's weight work I'm going to be sore, so I have one of the DVD'sset to go. Usually after stretching and a taking a bath, I don't have to much DOMS. The days I don't stretch and just shower, 2-3 days after I still experience DOMS. I really don't think you'll go wrong with either one of them. I love them both.

One other thing to consider is the length of the workouts. Stretchmax are about 20 minutes each, while the Total Body Stretch are 11-13 minutes in length each. I'm finding myself reaching more for Total becuase i feel i get an effective stretch in a shorter amount of time. And if I want to go longer, I just tack on the next segment.

I actually like Total Body Stretch better. The music is louder and easier to hear, and I think Cathe's voice is very relaxing in these with more pointers.

Does she hold the stretches out in Total Body Stretch or does she move quickly from stretch to stretch?

She does move a little more quickly from one exercise to the next. But I would say the stretches are still effective. By the way at the beginning of the new one she says it will help with lenghthening your muscles. But I don't really hear her say too much about that in Stretch Max. I don't know, I just still like them both. I think you'd be doing good either way!:)

I got rid of SM, because I didn't like the music, the short stretches, the color of the outfits, the "too serious" Cathe and some moves where you are stretching, but also keeping the lower back in an isometric hold (ie: doing a hamstring stretch, then leaning forward with the upper body with the hands forward, instead of supporting the lower back).

I do like Total Stretch, though.

None of the workouts on either DVD really holds the stretches long enough to really improve flexibility much, IMO.

I have both and I only do the first segment of both (I'm not too crazy about stretching with a stabiity ball).

I really enjoyed the music on "Stretch Max" segment 1. The stretches on both workouts are pretty quick; I'm not into yoga or pilates, but I do wish that the stretches were held a little longer.

I like the combination of stretches in "Total Body Stretching" segment 1 better than the one in "Stretch Max" (I found some discomfort with a few of the stretches in "Stretch Max", but it's only because I'm not very flexible).

I do find myself reaching for "Total Body Stretching" more often since it's a shorter workout.

I had an extremely stressful day at work on Monday. On Tuesday morning I did all 3 segments of Total Body Stretching. It was fabulous for me. I felt eurphoric afterward and a great day yesterday.

For me, the stretches are held long enough and they are very relaxing.
