Stick Vacuum Recommendations?

I am looking for suggestions for some type of lightweight floor cleaner/stick vac type machine. The entire main floor of my house is laminate. I've loved the swivel sweeper, but I've gone through 2 in less than 2 1/2 years (and I haven't over-charged the battery--they've worked great but don't last). I'm just looking for something lightweight and quick to pull out that is powerful enough to get dirt and crumbs. It would be great if it would also work on the shag area rug. I don't mind if it has a cord, but I would prefer a bagless.

So, to sum it up, I want a lightweight, easy-to-use workhorse that will last.

For the price (I got it cheaper on sale) it's pretty good. It doesn't do as well at the hoover platinum stick vac thing but it's about half the price. It picks up dog hair and dust pretty well. It's not as good a regular vacuum but I've been using it for a year and have been pretty happy with it.

Not sure how much you want to spend...I have had this one for years and I love it! I have a parrot and it picks up seeds etc, along with everything else on the floor! Plus being able to take just the hand held part when you need something smaller is a plus.
