Stevia Leaf Powder?

Does anyone use this to sweeten their tea, coffee, etc? I've been using Splenda for awhile but I need to stop. All those additives scare the crap out of me!! I keep reading that stevia in its purest form is the best low-cal sweetener but I'm not sure where to get it.

Hey Melissa,

I use it, primarily for tea. I can find it in any of the larger grocery stores in the natural or organic section. Years ago I purchased it at a natural food store.

I grew a couple of stevia plants last year, and used the fresh leaves in my sun teas.

I also use the concentrate (white powder--not the green actual leaves---and liquid).

I've used it for a couple years too. I put a little in my fage ff yogurt, my coffee and a little in my oatmeal. I order it from iherb.com. I get the boxes of 100 individual serving packets. I switched to the non-bitter stevia and I like it a lot.

My Sam's club has packets--as does my local Wal-Mart. For the liquid, I have to go to a health food store.

I love stevia and have been using it for sweetening for about 3 years now. Has anyone found a down-side? I keeping thinking the stuff is too good to be true, but I haven't had any issues with it.

I use NuStevia and get it from GNC (of all places). It's the only one that didn't have a weird aftertaste (to me).

I've found that different brands have different tastes. I tried a brand many years ago that I loved, but I couldn't find it again at the time. So, I bought a liquid version. Well, that totally threw me off the stevia train for several years. It was so bitter....it was probably because I used a few drops too much.
I went back to stevia recently, but I'm not loving the aftertaste. I tried Stevia in the raw. I don't like it. My coffee is just not the same taste in the morning.

I'll try NuStevia next.
