Step shoes??

Is it possible to buy shoes specifically designed for step workouts? I'm finding that my right foot sometimes hurts across the top. I have crosstrainers, which are getting old. I asked in a few sports shops (in the UK), and was surprised that none of them do step shoes. They just said to buy cross trainers or shoes designed for running.

Hi Sharon,
I never heard of shoes just for step; I've always used crosstrainers. But I've also experienced instances when one (or both) of my feet hurts across the top and I've found that the reason is because I've laced them too tightly in that area. You can try loosening the laces in the area where you feel the pain. Also, if your shoes are old you should replace them. My all time favorite crosstrainers have been Avias as they fit my foot well. Good luck!

I just bought a pair of Ryka Rhythms for stepping. My cross trainers were hurting my feet and my ankles. So far I like these alot better than the Ryka Isuems for stepping.

Nice to see a fellow Brit on here! I have heard good things about the Rykas but at the moment, there is no official distributor for Rykas in the UK :( So I use Asics crosstrainers instead, which have been fine.
