Step Blast vs. Imax 2 ?

I have Imax 2, but I've been afraid to even try it. I've had Step Blast for a while and can get through the whole thing, but I have to modify most of the blasts. So, is Imax 2 going to be even tougher? I thought it may be ok since there is a recovery after each blast--something you don't really get in Step Blast. So, what do you think?

I think you could do it. I think the choreography is a bit easier than Step Blast. If you can get through all of Step Blast including the challenge, I don't think you'll have a problem (well, except may be for Interval 9 -- that's the toughie!).

Good luck and let us know how you made out.

Imax 2 is tough, no doubt about it, but it is soooo fun! I broke myself into this workout by only doing a couple of the intervals at a time (I'd add it on to another workout, little by little). I also took a lot of rests. But now I can actually make it through almost the entire workout - only have to rest a few short times. As an asthmatic, that's to be expected, I suppose. The choreography is pretty easy compared to Step Blast. Something else I like about this workout is that you're already 30 minutes into and you're like, "Oh, my goodness! Time is FLYING!"

Yes, fun and tough about sums it up. You can always modify it down at first...have fun!!!

I like Imax 2 better than Step Blast. For some reason, Imax goes much faster for me. That being said, when I first started Imax 2 , I drank water between each interval and really had to pay attention to my breathing. Take your time and have fun with it. It really is a lot of fun! Melissa

Try the premixes that have you only doing half the workout...I had to do that when I started...but now I can get through the whole workout..and actually like it!:) Don't feel guilty modifying the blasts when you need to...I'm sure you'll do great!;-)

I just did Step Blast yesterday after not doing it for a while. I wrote myself a note in my workout notebook that said, "Great workout when you ALMOST feel like doing Imax 2 but not quite."

So, I'd say Step Blast is a great jumping off point for Imax 2.

I also have a note written to myself on Imax 2. Sometimes the dread factor for that workout is high for me. So I wrote a note to remind myself that if I lighten up, the workout is really fun. I mean, some days I DO feel like pushing to the max, but if I don't want to kill myself, I can ease off. Just realizing that I don't have to push 100% on every single interval makes the workout more do-able.
