Step Blast - variation

FiddleFit

Cathlete
I did Step Blast this morning, but felt it needed some freshening up, so I mixed it up a bit. It was really fun, and I felt it dispersed the intensity throughout the workout better. If anyone's interested in giving it a go, here's what I did, alongside the title and chapter numbers. You need to actually program your dvd player to do this; the workout blender doesn't let you split up the challenge.

W/u (65-1; 65-2);
combo 1 (65-3,4,5);
full routine & blast (65-15,16,17);
combo 2 (65- 6,7,8,9);
full routine & blast 2 (65- 18,19);
combo 3 (65- 10,11,12,13);
full routine & blast 3 (65-20,21);
c/d & stretch (65-22,23,24,25)

Cheers,
Sandra

I actually didn't give it a try on the day above but I did do it today and I loved it. It made the time fly by.

Oh this looks good but I can't program my DVD! Whah! I could do this and just take a few extra seconds to adjust the program while I sip water! :)

Jo,
It may end up being about the same time it takes to jump chapters...just jog in place while you hit the menu button...this really was a fun way to do this. The DVD would get "stuck" at chapter change points so I figured out to finish the move I was on and then jog a second or two while it change chapter points. Good luck!

I took your advice and monkeyed with the remote as you suggested Angela. It was a fun way to tackle this workout! Step Blast is just plain one of my favorites and this was a nice variation!

Thanks Sandra for recommending this! :)

Jo

Angela and Jo, thanks for bumping this topic! This variation sounds like a lot of fun. Can't wait to try it out!

It's about the same as the original...for me it was a couple of minutes longer because I had to stop and go to the place I wanted (while I jogged in place). So it's still just under 60 minutes I'd say. Probably about 56 minutes.

Hey Sandra, when you say combo #1, do you mean the whole combo, start to finish, or just the finished combo? The chapter menu gives you the choice of either. Thanks

Sandra,

I did this one today and really liked it. It was a great twist on the ole SB. But what is your answer to Robin's question? I did each combo in it's entirety including the "buildup" not just the completed combo. Interesed to know if I worked too hard.;-) :+

Robin,
You do the combo from where Cathe begins teaching it (if start to finish starts where Cathe begins teaching it and ends with the whole thing put toether, that's perfect)...then you would move on to blast 1 (all three combo's put together with blast 1 at the end) then do combo 2, blast 2, etc...HTH!

Wow, I didn't realize this thread had been revived until this morning. I'm glad you're all liking this variation.

Yes, I meant that you do the entire build up and finished product of the first combo, then follow that with one go-through of the full workout and the first blast, then move on to the second combo (build up and finished product), a second go-through of the full workout with the second blast, then finish with the build-up and finished product of the third combo, full-workout go-through, and third blast.

Cheers,
Sandra

I just did Step Blast this morning and wouldn't mind a bit of freshening up myself. Thanks for posting this, Sandra; I'm going to try it this week.:)
