Step Blast fast foot repeaters

As I was doing Step Blast this morning, I was thinking about the number of people who have had a hard time getting down the fast foot repeaters from combo #3, and it occurred to me why this is probably happening. When Cathe incorporates the ff-repeater into the combo, she keeps the two knee-lifts into the movement, but doesn't ever say so. In my head I always tell myself: "knee-lift, shuffle-shuffle, knee-lift", but Cathe only ever says something like "shuffle-shuffle", or "fast-foot". If you're not actually looking at the television, you would not be cued to do the knee-lifts, and this would throw off the whole count of the sequence. I had a lot of trouble with this at first, and didn't nail it until I realized this. So, I hope this helps anyone who might still be having trouble with this section.

Exactly!!! I actually sat and watched that segment while sitting on the floor about 5 times before getting up and trying it again. For me, the key is the tap. On that last knee lift right before the shuffle, the tap is with that same foot, then that same foot comes up to shuffle. It's a lot of work with that one foot!!! I can't tell you how many times I tripped or ended up on the wrong side of the step til I sat and watched it without trying to do it. :p But it's so fun now and I'm glad I took the time to learn it.

Peg Leg Mambo! I am so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has gone crazy with that. I FINALLY got it last night (after watching it in slow mo a couple of times) and I discovered that on carpet, "it ain't so easy". But it is fun like she says.

What really helped me with these fast foot repeaters were the straddle taps in IMAX 2 (blast in interval 6). They're basically the same moves, but instead of abduction repeaters, you do a knee lift, then 2 straddle taps instead of 16.
