Staying safe/sane in San Diego!

Cathlete
Dear Cathe,

For the past three days, we've been glued to the TV set, watching the fires rip through San Diego County and seeing so many people nearby lose their homes. Some of our family members had to evacuate to our house in north San Diego and we had a voluntary evacuation at our own house yesterday, but right now we seem to be out of danger.

Anyways, I've been so stressed that I've been literally shaking the past few days and none of us have been able to relax. This morning, though, my sweet husband said to me, "Why don't you go do one of your new Cathe workouts? It might help relieve some of the stress." I felt so guilty even thinking about working out when so many people so close by are in such danger, but I went ahead and followed his advice and did the new kickboxing workout.

I couldn't go "all out" with it since our air quality (even indoors) is so bad right now, but I just had to say that it did wonders for my mood and my stress! I'm feeling SO much better now, and I LOVE the new kickboxing workout!

Your workouts always do the trick when I'm carrying around my usual stress levels, but I wanted to give you a special thanks for helping me stay sane in such a stressful time!!!

Hi Leanne,

Actually, I was going to preview these workouts while reviewing work related documents. Glad you enjoyed the kickboxing and it helped reduce your stress. Isn't it wonderful to have such a healthy way to reduce one's stress? :)

Hi Lorrayne,

Yes, it was such a nice break from all the stress to do kickboxing today! I hesitated about doing the new workout, but it was nice to be challenged by doing something new. I stopped a few times to run and ask family members if there was any new news, but it still did wonders for my spirits.

How are you doing down in the UTC area? Is your air quality alright? Do you think that you'll be able to sleep alright tonight?

Hope you're staying safe and well!!!
Leanne

Hi there,

I live in South Bay (Chula Vista). I did the Kickbox workout as well last night and I agree it was a wonderful stress reliever. I wasn't able to go all out either, but the attempt was worth it. I have to admit, some of the things I thought about taking with me in the event of evacuation were my Cathe dvds! Cathe can bring a smile to my face in almost any circumstance!

Leanne and Lorrayne, I hope you and yours continue to remain well.

Take care,
Laura

Hi Laura,

Glad that you're doing well, too! I also thought about taking my Cathe DVD's when we were packing up yesterday! Are things better down in South Bay? Did you have to leave yesterday when Chula Vista was evacuated?

Hope that you're all staying safe and well!

Leanne

I too am anxious to do my new DVD's but with the current air quality I am unable to:( I am glad you are all able to workout and relieve stress during this stressful time we are all enduring. The flames are once again threatening us here in the mountains of the East County. Stay safe girls!

Nicole

Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.

Leanne,

Things aren't too bad where I am; the air quality is poor, but I'm sure not anything like in other areas. I'm about 4-5 miles West of the Chula Vista evacuation zone. Thanks for asking.

Nicole, sending good thoughts your way.

Take care everyone,

Laura

Hi everyone,

How are you all doing today? Is the air quality better in Chula Vista, Laura? How about in East County, Laura? And how is Lorrayne doing?

Hope you're all staying indoors and taking good care of yourselves!

Leanne

Let's all keep our fingers crossed that this next Santa Ana doesn't cause additional fires.

Everyone enjoying their new DVDs? I just love them! :)
