I'm used to doing lots of walking lunges and alternating leg lunges, but haven't done much in the way of static lunges without having my back leg up on a bench. When I'm doing the static lunges in the videos, the calf on my back leg fatigues way faster than my front leg does and I feel like I'm not working the front leg hard enough since my calf is killing me. I try to focus the weight on my front leg, but that doesn't seem to help. Although I love getting an additional calf workout I know this isn't really the purpose of static lunges and hate to miss out on the benefits for the "lead" leg. Does anyone else experience this? I suppose I could always raise my back leg onto a bench and alleviate the problem if I must.
Thanks!
