Starting my first Cathe rotation ever; lots of questions!

I have recently recovered from an injury and my doctor finally gave me the okay to do weights again for the first time in five months. x( I'm pretty much a Cathe newbie so I'm looking for info. :) I'm doing a 15 week Cathe rotation that is geared to beginners and should hopefully help me get most of my strength back. The first six weeks call for only Basic Step + Body Fusion, High Step Circuit -Beg/Int, Cardio Hits and Ab Hits.

I was wondering what this tubing is she refers to in the description and where I can get some?

I have a large Bollinger step and it looks like it may be bigger than the ones she uses in the Basic Step DVD. Is this going to be a problem?

Is the Minitopper really worth it? I must admit I'm very tempted.

Also, will I need a barbell for the following rotation?

Congratulations on such a good recovery from surgery. I'll help you out best I can.

Tubing- this refers to resistance tubing with handles and is used extensively in the latest workouts you have lined up for your rotation. You don't have to get the same tubing Cathe uses. Spri makes great tubing products that come in a variety of resistance levels. My advice would be to get 2 resistance tubings, one very light resistance and one light/medium resistance for when you build up your muscle endurance and strength. Spri's website is www.spriproducts.com (I think, if not, google it and it should come up). You can also order tubing from www.fitness1st.com or www.fwonline.com. Target, Wal-Mart and most sporting goods stores also carry tubing.

The Club Step measures 44" long and I think 14" wide (you can check the above mentioned sites for exact specifications). If the step you have is much longer you may have difficulty with some of the 'side to side' moves. I'm not sure if the Bollinger has risers. What's nice about the the Club Step risers is that they also fit the high step topper.

Speaking of the high step topper, this is not ABSOLUTELY essential although I think down the road you will probably want to invest in one. For the time being, you could use the Firm Fanny Lifter or a step stool for leg presses and other weight exercises (neither the FL nor a step stool would be suitable for doing aerobic/cardio moves on it). You could use the narrow end of your step for the mini topper cardio moves. It's a solid piece of equipment and, if you switch steps, you can buy just the topper and a couple of risers to go along with the risers that came with the Club Step to achieve correct height.

Most any Cathe weight move can be done with dumbbells so once again, a barbell is not absolutely necessary. If you're interested, you may want to check out Target or Walmart as they sometimes have sets that are about $50 (Target frequently puts their set on sale for $35). Also, amazon.com has a set that sells for $19.95 + $4.95 shipping!!! If you want to use the set Cathe does, this is the Troy Lite system that sells for about $50 with another $30 for shipping (may be less depending on your location). The Troy Lite sells at one of the two fitness sites I mentioned above.

Great rotation! Good luck!
