Starting ICE 1/4/16

I did X10 X Step today. It was surprisingly hard for being such a short workout. My forearm is still giving me problems. I've got one of the ICE workouts and shoulders tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I can handle that, but I'll modify if needed.

Still hanging in there!

Yesterday was ICE low impact cardio 1 and then back. Both my back AND butt sore from that (I expect from the dead lifts). Today was X10 Fat Burning Circuit. I really liked that one.

Tomorrow is a scheduled rest day. Hoping that adding in that one extra rest day per week helps my body not to break down.

Wow, can't believe I haven't posted since the 25th. Still hanging in there. Still doing ICE. By rights, I should have been finished with Level 2 on Sunday. But, to rest my arm, which was flaring, I added in a few days interspersed with X10 and an extra rest day or two.

Today, I did Metabolic Total Body and Chest. GREAT workout. Tomorrow, I have a planned rest day. I'm supposed to do a workout on Saturday. I'll have to see how my day starts out; it will be a busy day, so I might have to move that until Sunday.

I know I won't move on to Level 3. I'm already getting up before 5am to get my workouts in. I just can't take more time, plus I know that extra cardio will not do my body any good. Just break it down even faster.

I'm looking in to Xtrain. That looks good, but I want to spend some time on the website checking out the videos.

Hi mrschi,

I ended up doing what you're doing-but backwards. I did Ice with X-train rotation and am now doing level 2. Funny, I did MTB with chest today as well! I couldn't do level 3 either-started it and got strep throat and ended up taking some time off and then did the Ice/Xtrain. I agree-level 3 workouts are too long. Sorry to hear about your shoulder problem. I've had cortisone shots in both of mine within the past 2 years and baby my shoulders greatly. I refuse to do tricep push-ups for that very reason. I think you'll have fun with Xtrain/Ice rotation. I really enjoyed it. When I finish level 2 in a few weeks I'm planning on Ice/RWH.

Hi. My whole family (3 boys, dh and I) have been sick since last week. I never get sick, and I got strep and a stomach flu!!!!! So, with that being said, I didn't even think about exercise until last night. I started week 3 with UB chisel (ice series). It felt great!

Mrschi, I am new to Cathe as well. I have ICE and am in the middle of my second round of Level 2. I did Chiseled Lower Body and shoulder MM today. I have enjoyed the entire set so far however I will say that chiseled lower body is probably my least favorite just by a smidge and I am not sure why. Overall I am down an inch in my hips (my problem area) so I couldn't be more pleased!

I started Cathe just because I needed a change. I have always exercised in some way and was most recently into barre and pilates. So glad I kicked it up a notch with Cathe. Sometimes my husband will even join me which has been a great motivator for me.

I too am eyeing XTrain as my next purchase. Everything I have read on this forum indicates that it pairs well with ICE or I suppose I could do it as a stand alone rotation. Equipment purchases are a bit concerning. I only had a few dumbbells at home and have already had to add several heavier ones plus two steps. So I will have to plan out my purchases without breaking the bank.

Hi, Ranch Mom! One inch is great!!! You are definitely doing something right. I am loving the program, too. My eating is sort of out there, so I haven't lost any weight. But, I feel like I look thinner, and I think my butt has lifted. She works legs and butt so much!

I did order XTrain yesterday. I'm heading on vacation on the 9th, and when I get back to start working out via DVD again on the 21st, I'm not sure if I will start that then or ease into my first week back. It will depend on how I feel.

I did feel like I had to get a lot for ICE, equipment-wise. But, I guess maybe not. We already have all of the weights and mats and an exercise ball. All I really bought were more ankle bands, and then I got a step with 4 risers each side. I already had a Firm step, but that had a different configuration that didn't allow you to have different step levels. It was either lowest, high, or incline (it has folding legs).

I had eyed STS as well for weights, and I do have a barbell, but that was saying you needed a rack and everything since the legs weights could be so heavy. I was interested in that, so that is what swayed me toward Xtrain. I really love lifting weights, so I hope it's fun!

Oh. I looked at that one as well. I was afraid the cardio might be too high impact, so I went with X-train instead.

Mrschi, XTrain is apart of today's daily deal so I caved and purchased the series. I'm still enjoying ICE but will be ready to try XT in 2 weeks. I'm not sure if I will do a XT only rotation or XT & ICE. I'm waiting for the user guide before I decide.

I'm going to start X-train but probably the 29th. We will be back from vacation the 21st but will probably take that week to get over jet lag, do some shorter workouts, and do my one rep max tests in preparation for X-train.

Nearing the end of a nearly 2-week vacation. No formal exercising - just walking on most days. Dessert and lots of wine! Next week will involve detox[emoji3] and doing my 1 rep max tests. I'm excited to start X-train the following week.

Hi all! I'm new to this group, but not new to Cathe's workouts. I just got my ICE yesterday and I cannot wait to do it!! I so appreciate your reviews and updates mrschi - thank you!! I've been doing the BB 21DF and I'm on round 4. I've lost about 16lbs and 10+ inches which is great and I'm really proud of how well I've done (haven't missed a workout yet), but I'm starting to get bored/annoyed with it. I did get the 21DF Extreme but I did not like it. So I saw the ICE and thought oh yes, oh yes!! I've got all the equipment (except the loop bands) and am ready to get started and drop this other 35+ lbs! I guess I have my work cut out for me! :) Thanks again for all the information, and keep up the great work ladies!!

Good luck, Sue! For 21 DF did you use the containers?

Yes, but only for measuring. Some people use them as tupperware-type cups, but they're not water tight and will leak! It really is amazing how much you can fit in them and make a very filling meal! I definitely needed portion control and the containers are perfect for that! :)

I bought and did 21 DFX. I liked it but I never did the regular version to compare. I couldn't do the containers, though. As soon as something restricts my diet, I sort of rebel. I have about 8 pounds I want to lose. With that diet, I didn't like that I was only allowed 2 servings of vegetables a day.
