Stability Ball Workouts

I love the ab work in KPC and PUB. Can anyone suggest other stability ball workouts that are similar in intensity (or slightly more difficult)?

thanks!

Well, do you have Supersets? It uses the satbility ball for about 80% of the exercises, that work the whole body. The music is excellent on this one, very motivating and the circuit approach keeps you rotating body parts so you don't get bored working the same muscle group to death for 15 minutes! THis is my current fave weights DVD.

I agree that Supersets is a great workout...Push Pull is as well...both use the stability ball pretty much (Supersets might use it a tad more). The Timesaver DVD makes pretty good use of the ball as well! :)

As far as non-Cathe workouts go, I have Core Foundations by TLP (Tracie Long Productions)...I've done it once and it's pretty difficult...I have a feeling it would be worthwhile to master it though...it's pretty much ALL stability ball!

Hi Lisa,

I am the moderator of the prenatal forum, but always take a look at the other forum questions as well. I am also a master trainer for the Resistaball company, the industry leader in stability ball education for fitness professionals. I would suggest that you check out the Resistaball website for other stability ball workouts. The web address is www.resistaball.com. Unfortunately, they only have videos and not DVD's which is a bummer.

Hope this helps.

I just love my Spri Awesome Abs on the Ball workout (although I didn't care for Spri's other ball workouts).

Fitball also has a really good upper body workout that I reach for time and time again. It uses pretty light weights, some of which I heavy up on, all-in-all it's a unique and very effective workout.

I find a lot of stability ball workouts too easy or feel that they use the stability ball on some exercises simply because it's a stability ball workout, but in these two, the ball really adds something to each exercise chosen.

Adam Ford's Swiss Ball abs is fabulous! 3, 20-minute ab workouts (with warm-up and cool down), in three phases. Phase one is intermediate/advanced (but the intermediate moves are often modifiable to advanced); phase 2 is advanced; and phase 3 most advanced (you even do a superman ON THE BALL in that one..though only hold for a second or two). BOth abdominal and back moves are done, so the entire core is worked.

The instructor is a former professional cyclist, and his current physical therapy (neuromuscular therapy) work really shows in the form cues he gives. And since all he wears is a pair of blue boxers over some short black bike shorts, the eye candy factor is rather high...and you can see the muscles at work.)

I got mine at amazon.com.
